Would be good as an audio driver The sound quality is great. However for the increasing number of people using subscription services such as Spotify, standalone players are being less utilized. This app would be great if it could be used as the audio driver or service where all sound in the Android system gets routed to. Not sure if that's possible... But certainly would be killer.

Trial should at least work My trial can be resumed as starting app, try to connect to server and in less than 10 seconds being told my trial expired. Even by Jupiter day cycle this is a real short time to 'try'. Could not determine if network would work, play any song to check which format works, what the ui looks like. No test = no purchase.

More resolution I can verify with settings of anti-alaising and dither and 64bit rendering turned on I was able to hear more resolution and wider spacious detailed sound over stock android player wich sounded duller and more flat less deep. So far this player sound beats them all so I will likely pay as I value quality sound. On galaxy Note2 this unit now sounds better than $100 dacs !

Final review: Overrated to say the least After using it close to a week on my car radio and headphones I can say this app is really not worth it. My sound source were FLAC files. There is absutly no difference in sound quality - I even had a professional listen to the difference between PowerAMP and Neutron. The difference is absutly not worth the price tag or frustration of using the UI in a typical everyday scenario. The people claiming this is the "best" please a) get a true professional opinion b) get your ears checked.

Fantastic but has some bugs Has really highest quality sound and most powerful preamp for those low sounding mp3. But interface is a little cryptic. Has annoying bug that just starts whenever you are hearing some other app like tunein, it just starts and stops canceling your radio so you have to restart it. Wish developer would fix this .

Excellent player Excellent sound reproduction, perfect ambiophonics support, I was taken abak by the 3D sound neutron produced by widening the sound stage. Perfect control over every aspect of sound. I have used most players available in Play, and I can say that the only other player that comes even close to this is Noozy by Dogsbark. Their noozxoide eiso comes close. But misses out at the ambiophonics. Perfect audiophile player. Kudos developers.

Good audio but navigation is terrible Audio quality is great. One of the best hands down but the biggest 2 flaws makes the app unusable. First is the scrolling its difficult to scroll. 2nd is there is no way to easily browse in folders genre or artist. Only songs which makes it impossible to play what u want easily. I hope it s fixed so I can give 5 stars.

Since I started using smart phones I have used almost 100 apps but never thought of commenting any app but this app has made me to do it because I wish the people who developed this app should the credit.. you can never find a better music player in the android than this market atleast for now... Awesome sound Really really good sound if you take the time to play with and understand the players functionality, maybe it's over some of your heads but that doesn't mean its a bad app. I had no problem with this and PowerAmp coexisting and could actually have them both loaded (stopped) in the notification bar with no trouble whatsoever. The U.I. is definitely different but that doesn't make it good or bad per say, personally I have no issue with it.

Good, but needs tutorial. I love its performance on my Galaxy SII, but the UI is not at all intuitive. Fortunately the website acknowledges this and provides a FAQ that taught me how to create my playlist. Figuring out how to fix the duplicate entries was another problem solved by their forum. Hint: don't let it autoscan.

Good job This app delivers good sound. But one does need at least good headphones to appreciate it. There are lots of tweaks, the meaning of which will forever remain a mystery for most users. And their effect in portable devices largely unnoticed :) UI takes some time getting used to. But once mastered, it will do the job just fine. I'll support the developers with my $6, no problem.

you shouldn't recommend it for 1GHz. On my Desire S it had just terrifying lags, I have never seen ANYTHING work so bad as this. Interface just froze, I barely could kill the app. And even then it for some reason continued to launch and kill MusicX match(I have no idea why) until I rebooted. Horrible. Just horrible.

It's OK Curiously I decided to try this player after a few fellow head-fiers spoke highly of it. For one thing (as expected) when your device IS at the base recommended specs, you can expect some choppy response with the UI. The UI itself, I shall be blunt. Whoever designed it should not ever be allowed to design anything visual EVER again in their life! It would appear to be a throwback to some 70s-80s styling which is simply not appreciated this day in age. IF you can look pass the archaic UI there are certainly some in depth customization for your audio enjoyment. The immediate eq only has 4 bands BUT the fun is in the menu. Set and shape the sound to your heart (or ears) delight with the upper mid and lower ranges and cut-off for the mid lows and highs. You even have hardware tweaks, gapless, surround, playback options and whatnot to play with.

Best music player Allright when it comes to finding the music player with the best sound, I've tried them all out (poweramp,playerpro, jet audio, winamp, etc). Long story short: This has WAY better sound than all of them. Ok so It was a bit of a chore to have to manually pick out the files that I didn't want to be played (ringtones,videos,etc.). And yes the ui was a little tough to adjust to at first, but I quickly overcame those things, and the amazing sound quality made it well worth my patience. I'm definitely buying it.

Good but needs major UI improvements! Sound Quality I give it a 4 star, UI I give it a -3 stars as it's too cluttered, unorganized, too complicated, just flat non-user friendly and needs a lot of simplification. Look at how PowerAmp does theirs, you'll see what I mean. Other thing, it will not drop from the Notification Drawer even after closing the app and stopping play. It also has a problem of being activated ( Starting Play ) when any other media app is used ( I was comparing it to PowerAmp, I couldn't play anything in PA without starting up Neutron. That has to be dealt with and it's not PA's problem because it's co-existed with DoubleTwist, Google Play and others off and on without a problem ). I'm going to uninstall it now, I think I have gone over it thoroughly enough to know that I still prefer PowerAmp over this player. Strong attempt at what could become the next best Auido player on Android, keep it up!

The OMG, it really does sound better, player! I was initially very skeptical that a player would make much difference in sound quality, but after reading many positive reviews on head-fi I had to hear it for myself. A couple of hours in, and I am very impressed with what I'm hearing from my Galaxy Note 2. I was about ready to accept that this device would never match my S1 with voodoo sound, when this game changer comes along. Now I'm tapping my toes and nodding my head and it's past my bedtime but I just can't seem to pull myself away from my rooted Verizon Galaxy Note 2 on PBJ Kernel with Boeffla sound, because now, with the addition of Neutron, I finally feel like I have a worthy music rig. I did a quick AB test with my previous favorite app, the GMMP, and Neutron clearly sounds better! The UI is not as bad as everyone says. It is "non-traditional", which is cool -- I dig it -- And after an hour of use, I picked it right up. I did tweak a few of the options, though: Settings -> UI -> Enable system wallpaper; disable wakelock, disable fullscreen; enable autohide; enable swipe tracks BTW, try this in landscape mode: tap the track time to hide controls, then tap the spectrum analyzer to make it full screen. Nifty!

Made my phone freeze EVERY time I used it. First, the auto-scan for music doesn't work...or if it does work, it freezes the app itself or your entire phone in mid-process. The last time I opened the app (maybe the 4th time), it didn't simply freeze the app itself, it froze my phone so I had to remove the battery to turn off my phone.

Audiophiles? - The spectrum analyzer is a placebo, at least on my Galaxy Note 2. It doesn't match what's being played at all. - This is supposedly for audiophiles. Your program is doing lots of processing on the music which really goes against what most audiophiles strive for, which is a flat output that is made musical by the headphones or speakers. - Rumble filter DSP supposedly protects speakers from frequencies below 20 Hz. Most phone amps cut at 20 Hz. Please explain what this is doing then. - Normalization shows up twice in your feature list.

Wat a load of balls The worst music player of all time, don't get me wrong the sound is good but thats where it ends, it puts everything on ur phone into the music player ie....ringtones, game sounds, videos u mite hav made the list keeps going on. I've 4 albums but this music thing says ive over 550 songs and I was told to remove em myself via email. Wen I try and hit a song it plays the next 1 down. The list of faults on here just goes on and on. But the very worst is, once they emailed me they made out that it was my fault.

Best Android App Ever Created. Period. If Google were smart they would always feature this app on the play store. It is by far the best media player on any platform I've ever used. Why? Because its the first app to understand audio and quality. Also because its the only app with a live readout spectrum analyzer. The best audio quality. Give me the same audio rendering engine with an intuitive clean ui and I'll pay you again and double and for gods sake please don't spin it as a a "sophisticated u.i." its plainly just shite. Edit. The ui has been revised since the last time i looked and it is now consistent and logical and even easy to use. unfortunately it still looks like an early 90s winamp skin. I could live with it but should I have to compromise? If this had skins...
