Easily generate melodies for your songs or compositions.
Melody Generator uses a new theory of melody to automatically generate melodies, providing quick and easy assistance to composers and songwriters who need quick melody ideas, or to any music lover who just wants to play around. The current version of Melody Generator (Version 1) includes the following features:
- 8 bar melodies
- Time signatures: 4/4, 3/4, 2/4, 6/8
- Random chord progressions
- Random or custom key signatures (A, Bb, B, C, Db, D)
- Random or custom tempos
- Use of whole notes, half note, quarter notes, 8th notes, and 16th notes
The Melody Generator saves melodies as short MIDI files to your SD card, and allows you to browse through and listen to them after they are generated. Check out our website for sample output. Of course, more features are in the works!

[2013-08-30] A Google User: Logan Garrett Great job on this, developer! The melodies it generates are (almost) always interesting and musical, and it really can generate them remarkably fast. I do want to point out to the developer that on my Droid Maxx (Android 4.2.2), deleting the last melody in the list of saved melodies causes a crash, so maybe look into that, but it's not a huge deal. Otherwise, great work, and thanks! |

[2013-08-24] A Google User: Not enough options I would like to be able to input chord progressions and have it create melodies based off of that. This app doesn't help me in its current state. |

[2013-02-14] A Google User: Great App! Clean and simple, it works very well and I like the customisation options, but I've got a couple of suggestions. It would be handy if you could 'select' multiple melodies to email at once, also the on-screen text is a little small. |

[2012-08-03] A Google User: license check fails I *legally* bought the app yesterday but it's telling me that my license check failed and i can't use the app. waiting for the developer to answer my mail. If he doesn't reply I'll have to leave this 1 star rating... |

This has MANY Uses if you have a particular application in mind. You can use the midi files to export and load into any DAW where putting real instruments can make these brand new songs come to life. Create great tunes! |

[2011-08-21] A Google User: Wtf Couldn't get it to recognize my license for about 20 min and now all melodies it generates are blank. What's going on? Past refund period now... |
