Headset Button ControllerTrial (v. 6.4) Разработано Christoph Kober |
Turn the button on a wired headset into a remote control for your music player - and much more!
Headset Button Controller is very configurable, allowing you to play music, change tracks, adjust volume, answer phone calls, start Voice Command and many other things, just by clicking the button on your headset.
Headset Button Controller is shipped with a powerful default configuration, but you can change almost every action performed. Once you have configured it with your preferences, it runs in the background using almost no CPU. It has been tested with a wide variety of different Android devices and music apps and works with both single-button headsets, and Android-specific 3-button headsets.
Default configuration for single-button headsets (center button for 3-button headsets):
* Single press: play / pause (+ answer call / end call)
* Double press: next track (+ decline call / mute microphone)
* Triple press: previous track
* Quadruple press: previous track (2x)
* Long press: Volume control [2]
* Press and hold: Fast forward [3]
* Double press and hold: Rewind [3]
* Triple press and hold: disabled
All of the above options are configurable to any of the following:
* Stop
* Play / pause
* Next track
* Previous track
* Previous track (2x)
* Mute / unmute
* Voice command
* Voice search
* Redial last number
* Say current time (Text-To-Speech required)
* Launch app
* Launch shortcut
* Tasker task [1]
* Switch profile
Additionally the long press options are configurable to any of the following:
* Volume control [2]
* Rewind [3]
* Fast forward [3]
With a 3-button headset, volume control is also configurable with the left and right headset buttons.
[1] Requires the app 'Tasker'
[2] While the button is held down, the volume is initially reset to the minimum limit (see below) and then raised until the button is released
[3] Not every music player app supports rewind / fast forward
Music app selection
Headset Button Controller controls the currently running music app. You are also able to explicitly specify which installed music app you want to control.
Volume control features
Headset Button Controller remembers the music volume when the headphone is unplugged and can restore it when the headphone is plugged in again.
* Min volume limit: Start volume level of the 'volume control' command
* Max volume limit: Ensures that the headset music volume never exceeds this limit
Call features
You are also able to control calls with the headset button:
* answer call / end call on single press (configurable)
* decline call / mute microphone on double press (configurable)
* adjust volume during a call (see volume control)
* announce caller name (Text-To-Speech required)
You can also configure Headset Button Controller to automatically answer an incoming call after a configurable delay.
Headset plug in / out
You can configure an action to be performed when the headset gets plugged in / out.
Profiles
You can create different 'configuration profiles' which you can switch between. Add a widget or a shortcut to your home screen to easily change your profile. It is also possible to switch profile from the 'Tasker' or 'Locale' app (Locale plug-in). All settings can be backed up on SD card.
Notes
Headset Button Controller cannot support the separate volume control buttons on the iPhone headset - this is a limitation of the Android framework.
===============
This is the trial version of Headset Button Controller. With this trial version you can try out this app works with your phone / music player correctly before buying.

[2012-07-13] David: D adds alot of features to headset |
[2012-07-13] David James: Great potential. Need to update mute graphics I agree with Elias that the mute button needs to update the on screen indicator. Otherwise you can never remember if mute is off or on. I will buy once this is implemented because thats what i want this app for. Love the app other than that. |
[2012-07-09] Alu: Better than Klipsch's own app Works better than Klipsch's own app for the S4A headphones. Klipsch should hire the developer to do their app! Great app, highly recommend. Need to fix mute unmute feature, it doesn't work for me with the klipsch S4a and ics stock |

[2012-06-22] James: Works, but there are better free alternatives JAYS headset app works and its free. This version may have more customization but not worth the price IMO. This does work with iPhone headset, but the volume does not work. You have to click it and hold to raise and lower volume. |

[2012-05-30] Elias: SO SO wanted this for mute functionality from headset button but it does not sync properly with mute images on graphic display or indicators. It should update screen indicators in the same way as pushing the mute button on the phone. Button can get out of sync leaving you unmuted when you think you are muted. Will buy when fix is made. Long click always activated voice command. |

[2012-04-10] hceuterpe: Depends on the device I'm not sure I see the use of this app. I have a pair of Klipsch Reference S4i headphones with a 3-button controller. It doesn't work on the Asus Transformer Prime, and with my HTC Rezound, it functions without even needing this app (Winamp). |
[2012-04-09] Charles: VERY BAD APPLICATION BAD APPLICATION |
[2012-04-05] Rana: Works flawlessly! Works both on my single button and triple button headsets! Plethora of features and customizable to the last bit! |
[2012-04-05] jd: Fantastic! This application is the perfect solution. Now I can walk around, with my novelty home phone handset, without redialing my phone every time I graze the button. Kudos on the free full trial and Tasker integration. I will definitely get the paid version. |
[2012-04-03] Justin0123: Works great! Very useful. |
[2012-03-29] Cody: Great for single button I have SKDY Heavy Metals which are a three button, unfortunately only the center button works which is better then none (which is what it usually is) great app, but needs to support all three button headphones |
[2012-03-27] Garrett: Works pretty well Very customizable to allow many controls (somewhat unwieldly) with a single button. Unfortunately,d doesn't recognize the left and right buttons on my skullcandy 50/50s. Five stars and purchase if it would. |
[2012-03-21] Hiren: Does not work with Galaxy Y GT-S5360 This app does not work with my galaxy y. With single press, double press does not change song like next and previous. Only volume control work with this app on my phone. Also not work play/pause button with this app. |
[2012-03-20] Johnny: Good Works great on EVO 3d ,but only pauses and plays on the Samsung fascinate(galaxy s1) |
[2012-03-20] joel: Samsung Galaxy S Plus Works great.. i hope it will work for long time.. <edited: 3/20/2012> Just a few minor bugs though, if you're emotionally attached to a specific song, and suddenly you shift to the next track (double click on default) it will either pause and/or increase the volume by itself, but i can just deal with it by pausing the song (single click) then shifting to the next track (double click) then readjust my volume, and i think for a free version, the developer is generous enough to include all the features of the pro version, with that, I still give it 6 stars, but there are five in here no? ... cheers from the Philippines! |
[2012-03-19] Franklioni: Works Perfectly... Using on HTC Desire HD with Bowers & Wilkins C5's. Will be purchasing full version! |
[2012-03-19] S.D: Epic touch don't work . Not working |
[2012-03-17] Ryan: Klipsch ear buds s4i 3-button on a ssgs2 doesnt do nothing except call last person u called. Redial... sucks |
[2012-03-17] The Wizard: Samsung Galaxy note Works great... only problem forward n rewind don't work... |
[2012-03-16] Masha: alex thanks a lot, this app works great, fixed my problem with voice commands when it was activating with pressing headset button. now it's blocked. |
[2012-03-13] Alex: Ok Good |
[2012-03-07] yeung: Very useful! There are not many remote control headsets for android, but now i can use my bose to answer the phone! Luv it! |
[2012-03-06] Martin: Almost as promised (Samsung Galaxy note - Stock) Nice! I wanted it for the next tune and call answering. Both work perfectly on the first try (tested with Pico TTS to say the caller's name). Moves tracks forward even when screen locked. Answers just the same, locked or not. Ends calls as expected. Nice bit of programming! But things go a little south from that point. Triple and quadruple clicks on 1 button doesn't register with the default music player, but I'm sure other players out there that do have that provision in their API. Anyhow, I don't really need those functions. Just move forward makes me plenty happy. At some point (I don't remember the steps), the volume got jammed in a loop, endlessly increasing volume until I explicitly issued the volume command. After that, the music player commands beep and that's it (answer calls, dunno). It got buggy, I force closed the music player and the Headset Button Controller. Nothing at first, but then after a while, commands registered again... Maybe it's the player, maybe not, can't say. Will use for a little while longer to make sure it's stable, but I totally plan on buying. If you feel the same as me, be a sport and pay the dude a beer! What's 3 bucks in your daily routine? |
[2012-03-06] Johann: Finally! Ive searchd high and low for sumthng like this! It works like a dream! Controls my music flawlesly! I use n7 player! Perfectly working on my sgs2 and philips handsfree one buton. |
[2012-03-06] Aaron: Not working on sennheiser buttons cx680i |
[2012-03-06] TARKESHWAR: Gud Solves d purpose ...good.. |
[2012-03-03] Alex: Works on Sensation XE I use it on my Sensation XE with Beats headphones, because the middle button on my headset used to call random people by accident. Now it has stopped surprise-calling my friends at 3am. Good app, lots of options. This is just a TRIAL version and will expire after some days, then nags with annoying pop-up. |
[2012-03-02] Lynn: Needs instant view of all sets on one screen and a visual representation because I can't remember all presets instantly. Then I'll buy it. Lx |
[2012-02-28] stephanie: Lg marquee Doesn't work |
[2012-02-27] Daniel: Great charts, but no Google finance sync? Why is there no support for Google finance...? Would be so easy to sync my watch list & create alerts to high/low prices. Maybe needs a password function for privacy...? Very sleek looking app, just need more functionality. I'd happily pay $5 for the above functions (and maybe a widget ) |
[2012-02-27] Daren: Sennheiser a no go. Doesn't work with Sennheiser double button ear buds. |
[2012-02-26] Sam: Doesn't work for me Doesn't work with Asus TFP running ICS and Poweramp. |
[2012-02-22] Barry: Awwsome dude |
[2012-02-12] Dr Devdatt: Nexus Auto accepts call even if disabled |

[2012-02-02] senthil: Dell streak Not compatible wit my dell streak v2.3.3.. Makes my tab to get turn off, works fine if screen is on.. So fix it guys, thanks in advance.. |
[2012-02-02] Brooks: Not working on Epic 4G Touch Seems like its not able to override the built in one button functions. I feel bad giving this app this star rating because I wasn't able to really review the app. I'm more than willing to reconsider if this issue is addressed. |
[2012-02-01] indra: Awesome Nyc cool on android 2.3 |
[2012-01-31] noCOMPLY: Worthless Double and triple presses are either ignored (very very slow/very slow/slow) or treated as long press 90% of the time (medium and all faster settings). And I play enough video games to know how to time a button press. |
[2012-01-30] Jastep: Work with beats mixr I've been trying this app all day and it has definitely worked for me. I'm trying to replace my iPod touch with the galaxy player 4.0 and I have beats by dre headphones. Sometimes it can be a hit or miss with double clicking though. To those with beats headphones know that the volume buttons will never work on any android devices. The volume buttons are technically specific to I products (iPhone iPod etc) and HTC phones with beats audio. |
[2012-01-29] Gandhi: Perfect Galaxy nexus, one button |
[2012-01-28] Dmitri: Doesn't work for Epic 4G. Seems like a good app with good options. Please override voice command and dialer. |
[2012-01-28] victor: Alright Would work well if i had a one button headset and didnt mind hitting the same button x times to make it do something. But i don't i have the beats by Dre. And treats all 3 buttons as center button |
[2012-01-27] Derrick: Sucks Doesnt control beats headphoned |
[2012-01-26] Lynne: Great app Works great. Only con is it won't target Pandora. |
[2012-01-25] Rachealica: Button only opens call Log For Sprint Epic, doesn't override the voice call, call back, voice command, or call log/redial features. All I can use this app for is to open my music player when my headset/default earphones are plugged in. Please fix, I listen to my music often and I need to control my music without having to look at my phone. T^T |
[2012-01-24] Anonymous: I can finally use my bluetooth headset! Only one negative thing - When the device is locked, and I long-press the single button on my headset, it wakes up and unlocks the device, but does not open Voice Command. If I unlock the device manually first, it opens Voice Command just fine. I just recenly switched to Android from WinMo, and was very discouraged that I could not use my Bluetooth headset to initiate calls via voice command. By default, Android only allows a redial of the last number dialed when using a long-press on the call button on a Bluetooth headset. Now, not only does this app allow my single-button, wired Zagg Smartbuds to initiate calls (among other things), I can now create a profile for my Motorola S9 Stereo Bluetooth headset that will allow a long-press to open Voice command, and allow me to initiate calls! I have yet to try it on my single-ear bluetooth, but I expect that will work just as well. This app needs to be marketed to the Bluetooth users as a solution to the much-maligned problem of handsfree calling! |
[2012-01-22] Pras: It works Good app. It works in Samsung galaxy s2. |
[2012-01-11] Sean: Awesome app!!!! Works perfect with my klipsch headphones using single button control...thankyou |
[2012-01-11] Giley: Good app Would be even better if it supported centre button and up/down buttons on Ford car radios. Currently only left and right work. Happy to help test if rqd |
[2012-01-10] Josh Scholar: doesn't recognize the button on an android 2.3 teclast tablet |
[2012-01-07] Anonymous: Fix it android Sad that three button headsets aren't supported but that blame is placed on android's framework so hopefully someone from working on the framework for android will fix that but ya great app good job there shame android neglected there customers in the headphone controls department :-( |
[2012-01-07] natataka: Not working epic touch Not working with sprint sgs2 and samsung headphones. I had high hopes for it. It sucks that android doesn't support three button system like iphone |
[2012-01-04] ari: Ridding bike was never investing before this. I have just one button in my headset it multiplied it. Trust me. Its simple& great as H2O |
[2012-01-03] wasim: Wsk Awesome |
[2012-01-02] Davant95: Works great Works great with Iphone headset on samsung tab 7 |
[2012-01-02] Randy: Almost perfect... Pluses: HTC 3-button headsets work on the T-Mobile SGH-T989. Minus: after a period of time the control becomes unresponsive and you have to unplug/replug it and switch profile before it starts working. |
