KNOWN ISSUES: HTC android 2.1 has a bug in foreground service code, which leads to unfixable stuttering / skipping in music playback.

PERMISSIONS:

phone state & identity permission is used to detect when a user accepts incoming call, to stop playback

sdcard access permission is used to store playlists and configuration files

internet access is for radio streaming and ads

Finally! This is the *ONLY* flac player I have found which will get out of the way and let Media Button Router work. Every other app tried would monopolize the bluetooth controls and not play nice. Thanks!!

Save Session? This app does almost everything I want it to, but I would like to continue playing the playlist where I left off. Edit: Also, it restarts an album from the beginning while in album shuffle mode, after the app is closed or restarted. Due to this annoyance, I can't use the album shuffle mode, so I guess I'll try to find a way to randomize the playlist some other way. I'll send an email about this when I get the chance.

Great app, Musepack support Love this app. Been using it for a year now. Currently on a SGS3 and seems to be a small bug in the EQ. The preamp seems to be acting as some kind of low frequency filter instead of a preamp.

Pretty good player Pros: Easy to use, clean UI - Built in 10 band EQ with ability to create presets - Good sound, worthy note is the inclusion of a form of anti-clipping to keep loud music from distorting --- Cons: Seems a little power hungry, has already used 6% battery with ~10 minutes of use - Has to have plugin pack installed to play formats that are natively supported by the OS --- In betweens: Playlists are easy enough to create, but it would be nice to have a Foobar-like media list so I could simply designate my Music folder and then just queue up albums or songs at will instead of having to navigate the directories. ~Ryan

ReplayGain for free! The only music player on the market that lets you utilize ReplayGain for free. Not a huge fan of the color scheme but the functionality is there. Holo design would be wonderful.

A big problem This app didn't seem to like Easy answer for some reason, when ever I'd get a call and pressed the button I assigned to answer it, deadbeef would randomly start playing music and the call would get rejected. And since i'm blind the speech was drowned out, so I had to restart the phone to get things sorted.

It works great. After a rocky start DeadBeaF is now up and running great. Definately a good music player. But it need the capability to select a single file(s) rather than a folder.

Best music player I've tried! You have to install the plug-ins if you want to be able to play everything this player supports. The only thing I wish this player had was the ability to add one file to the playlist by clicking on it in the file browser. The file highlights when you click on it, but nothing happens. I got pro because I wanted to support the author and have all the features and none of the ads. :)

Nice - Now Stop Adding Crap. This is a nice tight player. It plays by folder and also shoutcast streams. Neat addition of a graphic equalizer. I don't need or care about album art so I won't be updating. Dev, do yourself a favor and stop adding useless functions while you're still ahead.

Best player for Icecast. And I've tried them all. This one updates the metadata properly; other players have a skip in the audio when the song changes. Excellent EQ with custom presets. Developer is very responsive.

Why don't other music players do this? This app is very simple and easy to use. It does exactly what I want from a music app: I have over the years categorised all my music into folders and want to play folders and this app does it! Awesome! I've tried over 10 other music apps from the market and this single feature is constantly missing. Only one feature I'm missing is a lockscreen play controls, but I can live without them.

Good,but not the best. The player is fast, stable and nice. But there 's two things missing. First, it's handset button control. There's no ability to switch track back by handset button,only pause and forward. Second is PSF support. Droidsound by Swimsuit Boys have it, using SexyPSF. Why don't you implement it? Then your player will be a bomb.

My favorite music player! Latest update fixed my inability to open this app. Clean and simple UI. choosing music files to put in playlist from folders over auto sync is a must, which Deadbeef provides. Only wish I could change the color scheme.

My favorite player, but needs some work By far my favorite player because of RG and Gapless support. Unfortunately, the playlist management is crap (especially in landscape mode) and it doesn't seem all that snappy as I would have expected, but, it does play everything I need the way I need them to.

I Like It Not a manager, a player. You save your music into folders- directories- albums whatever you want to call them and make play lists from them. The interface takes a bit of figuring out but it's easy enough to use, loop a track or album, random tracks or albums and the audio quality is great. Think I'll go for the paid option to support this developer. Galaxy S II

Does what it sets out to do For those with different types of music files, you'll be delighted to know that this app has you covered. For those that also like being able to quickly locate and sort through their library, you'll be disappointed to know that this app lacks that. You are unable to choose how you want your songs organized, so going through your library looking for certain songs may be a pain. This app also offers very little in the way of customizable options. That all being said, Deadbeef does work and works well. I've encountered no slow visible slowdowns, freezes, or crashes since installing it. If your looking for an app that just "works" and promotes functionality over fashion, this may be your app.

Simple, but A nice, simple FLAC player, but it is so simple that I wonder why it is 2.2MB (bigger when installed, and even bigger when adding the extra decoers for MP3, etc.). Still, it would have been good enough for me, except that it stops playing when my phone goes to standby mode (LG C710, Android 2.1), whereas WinAmp keeps playing. Oh yeah, it seems to crash far too often.
