Do you sometimes ask yourself what is the best way to remote control Winamp® with your Android Smartphone?

Here is the answer:

aWARemote Pro is a WiFi remote control for Winamp® (for PC) providing the following features:
-Play/Pause, Next, Previous
-Playlist and basic editing
-Media Library (Audio and Playlists)
-Media Library Search
-access saved playlists in Winamp®
-Widget
-Equalizer
-Start/Stop Visualizations
-Album Cover

Check Preferences for Performance options and additional features.

You just need to install the server application from http://www.geb-dev.de (click on "Get Pro Server") and (in the app) enter the IP Address of the host computer.

Erp. Would be 5 stars if anti-piracy validation didn't break often. :/ I flash and backup/restore my phone pretty often, and pretty much everytime I have to go back to factory settings after a restore, then redownload this app just to get it working. Depressing. But certainly has been excellent before.

Just Works Does what it says on the tin. Professional presentation and very responsive controls. Keeps getting better with every update - I particularly like the way that interface actions from the PC and other remotes are reflected in the remote interface. Very slick.

Great app Amazes our friends by changing the music while sitting on the deck. Wish I could see and choose from all songs by artist, genre, etc. without having to select an album first. 5 SOLID stars if this app had that feature. Also wish I could browse existing playlists and select one when saving playlists.

Works so well! This is my first paid app. and it works so well! The UI is well designed and intuitive, the response time is instantaenous (of course it's on a LAN). The server is a piece of cake to install. I would like however a way to browse the remote filesystem (files on disk not in the current playlist) from the Android device and add them to the current playlist. That said, the sync feature with the Media Library is really nice and working. Another nice feature would be bulk selection to add to current playlist and remove from current playlist (Ctrl+Click-like in Winamp).

Love this! Once I got it working (which was a lil tricky - I think better installation instructions are required) this app was clear to me one of the best things I'd purchased on Google Play. Only gripe I have is that the widget on my tablet does not update to show what is currently playing.

Wow I tried the free ones (stop Working periodically). I tried universal remote paid (no media lib). I was gonna steal this app but honestly it worked so well and is so well developed that I changed my mind and paid. Well worth the money. If you've been searching and trying the free way ur prob in mental anguish and it's not gonna stop. Just get this. Pay the cheap price. Problem solved. You've paid more for beer/soda. And that was gone fast. This works for a long time.

GREAT (!!!) Support, Best App It's the best app that provides Winamp control on the market. It has it's flaws here and there, but still a great product for a one-man show. And more important the support is just great. Had an issue, took less than a hour (in the evening) to get it solved. That's great support.

Pretty solid. Works as described. Only issue is when adding multi disk albums to the playlist it doesn't sort them by disk. E.g. it plays CD one track one followed by CD two track one.

Excellent app Works pretty much flawlessly on both acer tablet and nexus S. Looks great on tablet in landscape mode. Well worth it's price. Would be nice to have a wake on lan button to turn on the computer, and an option to start winamp automatically when starting the app.

Pretty much perfect Amazing for controlling winamp, equalizer and everything. Would quite like to be able to select which tabs are shown at the top, for example I don't use genre or album artist. Developer keeps it regularly updated, and the changes really do add to the functionality and improve it.

Handy... Fantastic app, does what it needs to. Would be nice to have the queue feature as i think its one of winamp's best features. One let down is the widget doesn't refresh sometimes and your left with the wrong info on the screen, not a real big deal really.

Fantastic but... It really is a fantastic app. It got recommended to me via the Winamp forums and I bought pro after being so impressed. Needs Smart View access though. Also needs to stop treating different cases as different spellings (2pac/2Pac). Absolutely loving the new landscape mode.

Simple and Clean Excellent app. Work perfectly for controlling my music from anywhere in my house. The ability to queue playlists makes for very easy entertaining for house guests. Though the GUI leaves something to be desired, this app is still worth every penny.

Finally! Ok, been using this for about the last 4 releases on a tablet and it always had a problem where it wouldn't display the correct album art. Usually it would show the previous song's art. That was until the latest release (2.1.3) This now works perfectly. My one and only complaint has been resolved. This program is awesome for remotely controlling a media server (or in my case, displaying what is currently playing on the server).

Widget on HTC Incredible S uses 100% CPU The aWARemote Widget takes up constantly 100% CPU and thereby makes HTC Sense unusable. Sad, the program looked promising, but this flaw breaks the good experience. Maybe a update can be done?

Superb remote control for Winamp This is an excellent app with an extremely fluid UI. Well worth the price for the Pro version in my opinion. Installing and connecting with the server was quick and easy. Features such as volume control using the usual buttons on the side of your phone and queuing tracks after the current one on the playlist polish the whole experience off.

Great but not always reliable I've bought the pro version when i noticed not all files in my library were listed on my HTC Wildfire. Unfortunately, after removing the free version and installing the pro version no songs are listed on the phone. "Update complete" but the library is still empty. Furthermore, does the server application really need the 45MB RAM? Whatever the cause of this bug is, it'd be nice to get fixed. The app is certainly worth its price.
