Great App but have to pay for extras So far this app works beautifully. It is just what I was looking for to get control of my videos from across the room. You can even fix out of sync audio from within the app. I have to add though that a lot of features are locked in the free version which are available for free in similar apps. I can access, open and play any video on my computer from Remote VLC without having to pay. So sadly I deleted this app for that one instead.

Unreal! This is a great app. Turns your laptop into an excellent remotely controlled media player. Set up helper PC app makes using it a breeze. I find I have to run the helper before each playback session, but I'm probably need to tweak a setting somewhere.

as disappointing as the paid version poor usability and set of functionalities. not recommended, so don't even consider paying for this. can't use the former controls on my desktop, nor can't i play subtitles through either my phone or desktop. and now it's remote server 'setup helper' won't uninstall. i hate this app. otherwise works fine, and setting it up is rather easy, unlike its removal.

Teletext support I am using vlc for watching iptv from my isp and I would like to have TTX support from the vlc remote. Since this is.build in vlc player,I belive you can implement it here.

Wasn't what I thought Thought this was vlc streamer, but just a remote for desktop. As far as a remote it seams to work perfect. This developer offers an iOS streaming version that works flawlessly can even adjust resolution for slower networks. Make the same version for Android and you'll have 5 stars and definitely paid full versions.

1 minute set up I'm satisfied. Just check two options on your pc's VLC, uncomment one line in .hosts file, add your IP and you are ready to go.

Couldn't connect, tho other clients could Even after downloading and using the helper tool, it couldn't connect to my VLC instance. Peter Baldwin's Remote for VLC and hitting up my machine's URL in the phone browser both worked however. It's too bad, as I really wanted to use some of the fine grained controls not available in Remote for VLC. Verdict: FAIL.

Truly Amazing. Every positive comment below was accurate and the negative ones were dumb. I figured this out on linux in about 15 minutes of trial and error. The error was getting permissions to change the .hosts file. After that I restarted vlc with web interface and the app found it. Streaming to my device over wifi is the best thing since pepsi. With high speed internet, songs are a breeze, 720p was chippy but what do you expect? It plays mp4 great. Developers please support flv. Thanks for a great app to show off.

Excellent work! Works flawlessly, installed the app, installed the program on my computer and away I went! For those complaining about not being able to make a playlist, just do it on the computer ahead of time and then control it from the remote. Not a single issue thus far!

You can't do anything in this version. The program helped me figure out how to use other VLC Remotes better. This app looks sharp, but the demo allows you to do absolutely nothing. Pause while receiving a call? Brilliant. I have never wrote a review before, but when I received a call while watching via this app, VLC paused for me. Coming from the inner developer inside, it's the little things like this that set apps apart from one another. This app functions just like all the other VLC remote apps out there, but this little feature puts it over the top.

Tempted to buy Nice little app. Installed relatively painless justread the faqs. Forme couldnt connect bc of firewalls. Confirmed working with vlc 2.01 on win7. To the dumb reviewers giving it bad ratings you need to create a vlc playlist on the comp first...for comp folder browsing and play you need to pay. Devs need to fix the sorting ability while browsing. But all in all great working app. THANKS!
