[2013-02-08] A Google User: Extra ordinary!!! Easy set up and amazing |
[2013-02-06] A Google User: Works, just in dire need of UX overhall It actually streams music from my Mediatomb server, which is more then I can say for every other app previously tried. That said, the User interface isn't very intuitive, and it would be nice if it used the new holo guidelines. |
[2013-01-31] A Google User: Best free app for Linn DS Stable, mutifunctional, intuitive, user friendly, free. |
[2013-01-30] A Google User: Flawless |
[2013-01-28] A Google User: Fantastic app So easy to use. Works perfectly! |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Bravo Best in Class. Thank you. |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: how to stream how the heck do you stream an mp4 mkv file to smart tvs with this? |
[2013-01-20] A Google User: Not really beautiful but work great ! |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: A bit cheesy Looks cheesy and failed to find my logitech media server. Apart from this would good |
[2013-01-11] A Google User: Love this Great app. Works fantastic. Could you add support for Simple Last Fm scrobbler? Main Last fm app is quite sucky. Also, progress bar for downloading stuff would be nice. |
[2013-01-07] A Google User: Great player Everything I need but please put in an option that can toggle select all / un-select all when you enter a music folder, rather than the default action of select all. Otherwise a perfect app! |
[2013-01-05] A Google User: Ok but will eat your battery this app does an OK job of playing media over upnp but it is let down badly by its power management. I have to make sure I wit when I'm done, otherwise I come back to find it listed as number one battery sucker. Right now it says it has kept my CPU awake for over one day but I only watched about one hour of media in that time. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Very good media sharing utility By far the best I have found so far. Only app that shares ALL types of files (music/vid/photo) perfectly instead of one or two out of three. My only complaint is the playlist function. It should start out as empty, not full. Also you should have to "select" what you want to add to your playlist, not "un-select" what you don't want. Still its very good to use and the best out there right now. Fix the playlist issue and expect a donation. |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Ui needs a great deal of work seem to be having playback issues with some sync videos with this app. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Perfect LG TV-HTC sanst xl well shared eachother.. |

[2012-12-23] A Google User: Does all I want Excellent, after nearly throwing my tablet at my tv trying to get the default player to do what I wanted, this saved my tv! Thanks |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Very good All important features are there. Interface a bit confusing at first but functional |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Pretty nice Just starting to play with it but looks very promising on my S3. |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: Works well with Pinell radio I love that I can stream music from my NetGear router with hard drive to the Pinell Supersound radio and control it all from my android mobile! Excellent! |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Update killed it It used to work great, now after the update it takes two minutes to buffer thirty seconds of video, repeat, and so on. Also very annoying to exit. The back arrow should exit the current playing item, not restart it. |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Music without wires. Forget Airplay. Best music upnp bar none. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Must have for DLNA/uPnP Users Fantastic. I would pay $5 or more for this app. I use it almost daily to stream audio from my NAS to my Nexus 7. I have some nitpicky issues with the interface, but it's a free app, so difficult to complain. Has never had issues discovering my server or with playback, Works great for video as well. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: So easy to set up I have a uStor media server with plenty music on. This app detected and plugged into it without complaint on Galaxy Tab 2. I was streaming my music without glitch within a minute. Only first impression but I'll be sticking with this app. Many thanks |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Top application Running in a 100% Linux environment it can find the files on my storage and stream them directly to a Slackware XBMC or my phone or even my Slackware laptop/ROCKLINUX servers Perfectly-Everytime. Only negative thing I could possibly say is when you start the application it can take 30seconds to discover my Linux boxes (my computers are all around 192....2xx-add another 20seconds to initially open the shares- that's it.. Suggestions- ability to "save/add" server locations/ IP's might be handy... perfect! |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: XFILEZOFDETROIT Oh my God I've been trying to connect my xbox360 since I got it finally a app that works there is a God thank you |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Nice appel, working very well, but the interface needs a serious redesign. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Music interface excellent. Video needs work Music works well as expected. Works well for videos until you want to get back to your library, which doesn't work with gallery. Put on MX Player and is a lot better. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Works well with my synology nas and RAZR m. I'm very impressed. Once I enabled dlna on my nas and reindexed, I was able to play movies and music. I will continue to use it for a time and then buy it if I don't have any issues. |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Continues to make play lists on its own. Need to be able to turn this feature off! I just need a upnp browser which this does. Can't assume it will be music all the time. I have a media server with 1000s of movies on it. I don't need a play list for this! |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: FC upon opening app on Droid DNA |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Very good app Works very well with media tomb and nexus s. My only regret : the GUI is sometime inconsistent. |
[2012-11-24] A Google User: Love it! I have tried a few other DLNA/UPNP apps, and this one has been the most stable, compatible, and reliable. Thank you! |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Excellent Works very well! One of my favorite apps while on my home network. Keep up the fantastic work! |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Note 2 Doesn't work on serviio 1.0 anymore |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Pretty good Works pretty well on my Nexus S, but I find the UI a bit clunky and difficult to follow, and the "Pause" button doesn't work. |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Outstanding!!!! I use this to stream music from foobar2000 via an ASUS Transformer TF101, and it works flawlessly. There are plenty of options to tweak the visuals as well as to subtly change how the interface works. Best of all, it's free :) |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: Buggy I found this app a bit buggy and not very intuitive. Not a pretty app either |
[2012-11-17] A Google User: It works! I can finally streams video now, buy the app design look ugly |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Bloody brilliant! See above |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Start on boot? Was a good app. what happened to you my once well liked player? seems your devs got a little out of touch and started making too many demands such as start on boot. Now my older version wont function because the devs think it is out of date. SHAME ON YOU! It is a pitty to have to uninstall such a good friend. I will check on you in the future to see if your devs come back to earth. |
[2012-11-07] A Google User: The Best!!! Awesome App....Thx.... |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Great work! I use this to stream from my plex server and it works flawlessly. Ugly as all sin, we need high resolution icons. |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: Garbage. Doesn't work. Flat out doesn't work. Will not load my library from home computer. Just sits there saying loading forever. I only got like 3 videos! |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: This is the best Tried others but the facilifies this offers are better and easier to use. Found my media streamer in seconds and played flawlessly |
[2012-11-02] A Google User: Works perfectly with Nexus 7 Aside from really minor features that might be impossible to add this app is perfect. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: The first app on my nexus 7 And its perfect, I can watch all my movies from my ushare NAS using this and dice player |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Great! This is the best UPnP control-point apps I've tried. It gives trouble-free streaming from my computer (the server) to a networked DAC (the renderer). It has more features than some of the apps that are paid for, or made to work with paid applications. Excellent control of playlist and very good interface. A winner! |
[2012-10-21] A Google User: Fantastic It just works. Remarkably stable for a beta and more features than other similar apps out there. All other upnp renders/players uninstalled from my phone! |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Essential It's really the best there is so far. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Sonic smart Tv I have installed this on my soniq brand smart tv with Ethernet. This would be 5 star if I could choose to remember my choice when it warns no WiFi. |
[2012-10-16] A Google User: Brilliant Long term user Acer A500. New playlist functions are easier to use - thanks for the change - i know you didn't want to do it! otherwise, still no better dlna/upnp handler for android than upnplay. you are a true champion mate. |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: Good app What i miss is having the possibility to download a selected playlist without having to confirm each song... Just the first an a "remember this anwser" checkbox would be great! |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: One of the few players that actually work This isn't a good looking app, but its the only one I've found that works with my Panasonic PVR. Thank you! |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: Great App. UI can be a little cleaner and navigation more seamless but streams all types of audio formats flawlessly. |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: Okish, but weird user-interface The user-interface looks very odd as it renders its own 3Dish looking buttons that don't really fit in into typical Android applications. Other than that, it has the basic functionality, but I found the usability less intuitive than other apps in this realm. |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Expired Works. Wondering when this one expire... |
[2012-10-07] A Google User: Does all I want This was the only app. To link my nas with nexus tablet. I have just got to find a slide show for photo, video and music. The only thanks |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Phone state and identity? Why? I don't think so |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: Works Fine on DEFY+ I was looking for a media player that works with local media on SD Card and could stream from my 2 TwonkyMedia UPNP Servers. This works fine with all three. The "hidden" volume control on the left of the display screen whilst playing is very good if it were a bit more obvious it was there! Having selected one track it automatically plays the next in the album (not all players do). It also remembers the last track played and the position in that track, which is very handy if you play long pieces, which I do a lot as I listen to stuff I have recorded off the radio (plays, comedy etc). Well done, if this is beta software then the final thing should be very good! |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: a nice app i like it. |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Great software for free Not as good looking as some but with all the features of a paid-for app. Outstanding work guys - UPnPlay is now my favourite upnp player / remote :-) |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: ssh over wan Great for accessing my DLNA server (raspberry pi) over the internet securely using ssh. Great job. |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: Amazing app The app is an amazing DLNA client. I love that I can connect very easily to my serviio server on my linux box through the WAN interface. That rocks! I can easily stream content from anywhere in the world. Ah, I forgot! I can also download media to my phone. Talk about "wireless syncing" ;-) I just wish I can download whole album or artists directly (like bubble player) without opening the individual files. Nonetheless it's a 5 for me! |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Best bit of free software. Ever. Nuff said |
[2012-09-12] A Google User: Excellent features Works fine on xperia arc |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Genius app Excellent |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Works great! :) |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Poor! Unable to return to app once player launched without force closing. Pressing back returns to upnplay for a second, but it launches video player immediately, so no way to pick something new to play! |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Easy & working Easy & working well. Using it since my 1st android device. |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Just the job! What a brilliantly simple app. Running on 4.1.1 and accessing my NAS , it found the Twonky shares and effortlessly streams all media. Recommended additions are MX Video Player and appropriate codecs. Heck! It's even running on my old X10 mini using 2.3.7. Well done... |
[2012-08-29] A Google User: Perfect Just what I have been looking for. |
[2012-08-26] A Google User: Works great Does what it says on the box and is free.. |
[2012-08-26] A Google User: Works well, UI dissapointing Works well, but the UI needs a makeover. |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Its OK but keep looking. Bubble Upnp is SO much more polished than this app. This app is a buggy alpha in comparison. |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Some problems. Will donate when these are fixed: (1) Downloads from MythTV server keep failing unexpectedly. (2) Base path is *not* at the root, but at "/mnt/sdcard"; keep having to reenter path to my SD card over and over. I've never been able to get a video to play without periodically stopping, but I'm not all that sure it's this software's falut. Keep up the good work; maybe someday you'll have an "app" (program) that makes this platform worthwhile. |
[2012-08-11] A Google User: Great app... simple interface...works well Everything I need in a UPnP player and it keeps getting better with frequent updates. Better than some other paid apps of this type. Navigation takes some getting used too. But over time you will appreciate the simplicity and design. |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Great app. Big thank you to the developer. Plays all my music from a Linux server on an HDMI android tablet on the TV. Hasn't missed a beat. |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Brilliant Does all I want of it and also connects just fine to Twonky. Many thanks and huge respect to the developer. |
[2012-08-06] A Google User: Good job! This one works flawlessly with foobar2000 UPnP server. Good job! |
[2012-08-05] A Google User: Works with Tversity Hooked up first time of asking. No major issues encountered when playing music. Video on the other hand is its usual heap of confusion. |
[2012-08-05] A Google User: Bourbon Great!!! |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Works with TwonkyServer Works great with my QNAP running TwonkyServer. Would give it 5 stars if the interface was improved. Even a purchase. |
[2012-08-01] A Google User: Nice Works perfect! |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Great app with very minor bugs Like some other people reported, when playing various files, when I hit the back button it relaunches the media player with the next video in the cue. Work around, long hold on the file and simply play one file at a time. That bug not withstanding, this app work extremely well with my DNLA compliant NAS - thanks and keep up the great work! |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: Close bt no cigar Didn't work for me at all. Good idea tho |
[2012-07-28] A Google User: Great little app Works a charm. I use it with BSPlayer and can stream all the series stored on my network. Thanks guys. |
[2012-07-27] A Google User: UPnPlay |
[2012-07-27] A Google User: Painfully ugly. It could also really do with native video support. |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Good app Could be better. It is not easy to navigate. I could not see sources in my network. |
[2012-07-23] A Google User: Awesome, Works perfectly Thanks to the developer, this is great. Does exactly what I want perfectly. It took a little bit to work out how to navigate but once I got the hang of it its all good. :) I have tried other UPnP apps but this one is definitely the best! |
[2012-07-21] A Google User: Easy to use From all the free software that support upnp this is one of the best. Worth 5 stars.. |
[2012-07-21] A Google User: Same as Robert I'm having the same issue as "Robert - July 18" that I don't recall having before. Playing from my DNS-323 NAS with uPNP Server, if I "back" out of the single video I've selected my external player immediately starts playing the next in that directory although I didn't make a "playlist". Interestingly though, it doesn't do that if I stream from my laptop running mediatomb. |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: It works Good app to access media files in your pc. User interface need improvement. |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Works GREAT Plays everything from my home DLNA server. HD content on my Epic is not very epic but that is no surprise since the phone is pretty old. Thanks a bunch guys! |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: Great Start Works OK plays my music well 1500 albums (logitech media server on XP) and plays the tracks in the queue/playlist close together without pause as in some other apps. My main gripe is how the hell do you control the queue/playlist, it picks tracks at random once in the list you delete them and they come back, if there is a way of clearing the list I can't find it. pick one track from an album all tracks get added to the list. So in summary Great player but I can't control it so sorry only 3 stars |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: single play ui weirdness I tried the app on the Nexus 7 and I get this weird effect where when I play a video from my dns321 and then go "back", the UPnPlay list of videos shows up and then the next video immediately starts playing. So if I have a directory of 5 videos lets say and I play video 1... then decide I don't want to watch that.. I press "back" and immediately video 2 starts playing. I can't get back to the list of 5 videos or change directories to another set of videos until I've cycled through all 5 videos. Anyone else have this problem? Maybe I'm just not getting the UI. The app is kind of useless for me until this gets fixed. Looks like it works well in other respects so I'm giving it a 2 star. Will be a 5 if this problem gets fixed. I have directories that are hundreds of videos... |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: Good player, But a bit confusing in the gui section. Use it as my default upnp player with Mediatomb on Linux |
