Almost perfect..... Simple to use, intuitive. This from an audio professional who uses studio quality equipment and software every day. suggestions- 1- a background circular recording mode. Like a 5 min (or selectable length) loop, that records continuously...until stopped and saved by the user. Useful for catching unexpected audio moments. 2- a stereo recording mode. You already allow us to select between recording from the front or rear mic...how about allowing both? I'd like to capture some ambient nature tracks.

Almost Perfect I use this to record talks I give on a regular basis. It works wonderfully and nothing on iOS compares (I do use iOS and hope this comes on iOS). I would like to request one feature. Could it be made where recording starts when the app is opened. I use tasker to open this when I know I'll be needing to record and auto starting the recording would be all this app needs.

Excellent app! It works awesome for ghost hunting. I have the old version on my outdated Motorola Backflip that I kept around just for the camera and audio recorder. We captured most of our evp's using it and it blows away all of our other digital voice recorders. Love it!!!!!! Just wish I could update it but the old operating system on the droid is not compatible.

The ONLY audio editor Believe me, I looked, this is the only option. Copy files into media/tape folder prior to editing if you dont want to make a mistake on the original file.This is the only app that is this capable, as far as I know. It's a little slow, even on my Galaxy Note II, but it's tolerable. Please keep improving and remain the #1 audio editor.

Really Incredible How did I live without this?! Been using it for a year, and it is an amazing app. When our Tascam recorder is in-use, we turn to our Android devices with Tape Machine to capture things we end up broadcasting. Dance artist Kaskade was impressed with the interface too!

Awesome Works great. Selectable mic source, input gain, play back speed. Nice! You can pause while recording, listen to it, then continue recording in the same file. Playback is seamless at pause points. Can tag recordings during record. Usefull app in so many ways.

Needs updates! It feels like this app has been abandoned, which is unfortunate because it could use some updates: ● Get rid of the zoom buttons because everyone knows you pinch to zoom ● Move the Input/Output/Select Toggle and Marker buttons to the top of the screen next to the File Browser and Share buttons so that the Marker button is usable while in Select mode ● Make markers reposition after Cut, Paste, Delete and Crop actions because they currently don't. Example: Right now if you have a recording that is six minutes long, you set a marker at the three minute mark and then select and delete the first minute of the recording, your now five minute long recording will have a marker still at the three minute mark instead of at the two minute mark where it should be. ● Make the Back and Forward buttons the same dimensions as the Record & Play buttons. ● Holo-theme would be nice to have, though this is one of the few apps that has a pretty good UI.

Top notch audio file editor Using this in conjunction with Audio Evolution mobile, I no longer need a desktop computer for recording. Very nice. I do wish it was a little clearer on how and when it saves the audio files, and there needs to be a way to close a file.

Exactly what I needed I don't often comment on apps I try but I have to say something about this one. It does everything I need to do, editing guitar recordings mostly. It's intuitive, it all works and the work flow is very efficient, without wasted key presses. I'm trying to find fault but with little success. Perhaps an update to improve my finger picking!

Sweet! I use this a lot and love it. I'm a hobby musician and a worship leader at church. If the developers read these comments, I'd love to ask for two things for consideration: 1) A equalizer (atleast 4-bands), and a simple reverb tool. Both of these items would need some kind of preview. If those are possible, I'd be so grateful! Thanks for creating a great app for us to use :)

Skips For me, and this has been on multiple devices i have installed it on, it will sometimes skip a second in recording. So if I'm recording lectures, sometimes the professor is talking and i miss part of a word he said. On a good day, this happens 1 or 2 times per 1-hr recording. On the worst days, it happens continuously 10 or more times so that i miss a lotof what is being said. I bought a recorder because this app is unusable for lecture recordings. Very annoying. Have tried it in my XOOM, xoom2, and photon q.

Turns punnie pinhole mic into a condenser microphone! I was initially disappointed with the weak sound reception of the tiny microphone on Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) where I had to face the mic up to my face to get a stronger recording. Tape Machine has boosted the input quality to what now records like a radio talk host speaking. It's capturing my pure and natural voice. This tells me the microphone itself is not so much a culprit as likely the volume constraints hard wired in the factory settings. FIVE STARS!

Bummer This app is beautiful, the appearance is great and the features on it are really impressive. However, I've been trying how to use it for recording with my voice, guitar, and banjo and so far every single take has at least one glitch in the sound where it seems to skip. I really can't wait to go back and change my one star to five stars when they fix this feature . But on an app that I paid four dollars for I really expect it to be able to record smoothly without skips.

Needs a limiter! It is an awesome app with so many wonderful features, especially for recording guitar/vocals. My only gripe is that there is no input gain limiter to prevent signal clipping. There is only the ability to increase gain...not limited it. Please add a limiter...then I'll rate at 5 stars AND pay more :-)

Excellent! Suggested improvements It's what I need for dictation. Nothing more suitable when you need to record and edit frequently what you record. It would help if the buttons for record and play would be bigger. Also it would be very welcomed a button to toggle pause during recording, closer to the margin. It would help with ergonomics. This way you can dictate without looking at the device, just touching the same spot to pause and continue recording. Thank you very much!

Recording broken - leaves gaps The record feature "skips". It simply misses anywhere from 1/2 sec to 2 seconds at a time. This occurs both on my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, and on both the Lite and full versions. I emailed the developer 10 days ago at the email address listed for support, and never heard back. If all you need is recording, try "WAVE Recorder" instead.

A Fantastic App!! I absolutely love it. It has great features, but you can learn it all in minutes. There are several popular recording formats, and also the option to convert formats. I'm a musician and it's quick and easy to record an idea, whether it be a melody or lyrics. The recording quality is always excellent. It also allows recording phone calls, if your phone will allow it, but I've never tried it. There are many uses for this great app. I would think it would be a godsend for a college student recording lectures.

The Best Mobile DAW So Far! Loved the Lite version and used it extensively. I've used the full, payed version more than I ever thought I would. Musical ideas, verbal thoughts/notes, lectures, performances... perfect on the go, even with simplistic editing capabilities. However, I am still disappointed that there are no options for full dynamic control, mainly a limiter to reduce distortion in a small, high-gain environment (small practice room with a full band). My only issue though!

Useful recorder Can record, trim, fade in/out, adjust gain via re-sampling (artificial boost volume), cut copy paste, see waveform as spikes, loop, scrub, and switch between samples without hitting save. I'd like faster flow to create new sample from Paste (is possible; must rev. into new sample first..to cut up long into many small) I'd also like hardware accelerated sample viewing, for smoother scrolling, continuous-line sample drawing at higher zoom levels, one additional zoom step.

Excellent quality Best quality of all the audio recorders I've downloaded. Quality so good it could be used as a podcast. I didn't think an app would effect the clarity and quality so much. I recommend for fellow people starting in media and need a good app for interviews etc. Plus you can upload to PC and edit. I believe there's an editing function on this app as well. If you just want an audio recorder for things that don't require good quality save yourself the money. I used this for an interview and it had radio quality

Very versitile Reminds me of the old cool edit with all its primary features background and record mp3 format with additional download of plugin very cool converts from wav a snap ! extended duration no problem must have for voice records and background noise filtering etc. Nicely done works well on both all my devices Bionic and Captivate and now my razor. First thing I install on every new phone. A bargain at 10x the price!!!

Excellent product Records, Edits, Save, Manages files.... does what you want in a fairly easy manner. Autogain and Quality recordings are consistent. Only complaint is minor - you can easily overwrite the last recording. So, as a habit, after recording something I start a "new" file, which auto-saves the immediate recording and starts a new file. Other than that little item, great app. When will you upgrade it for in-call recording?!!

Simple and accurate audio editing. I was looking for a simple audio editor and this works a treat. You get a nice big waveform display at decent resolution so that you can zoom-in for accuracy, and simple markers for IN & OUT points. You can then 'Crop' to only keep your selection or 'Delete' to lose the marked section and automatically glue either side back together. Quick, accurate and easily achieved with a finger. There are other good features but the editing is the main thing. The only downside for me is that it only records Wave forma

Demo quality recording on the go I've recorded band practices, live concerts, and demos for myself and this program makes it easy to get a quick, decent quality recording. To be honest I don't much use the software for editing just because if I am going to put that much effort into a recording I would start with a more sophisticated setup but it is great that the option is there.

Fantastic This is a fantastic audio recording app! Its great for recording conversations, or like i do, record class lectures! The app allows you to organize recordings into folders, easily move within the recordings, and has a crystal clear sound!

Mr Microphone I really like Tapemachine! It took a little getting used to, but works better with each update. One thing I would like to suggest... It is in dire need of a write protect, for the data files. Last week I was trying to change a playlist in a different program. I saddly discovered that when I tried to clear a given sound file, the original data file was erased as well. Hence the need to write protect the data files. Not many apps provide this needed feature. I hope to change that thinking. :-)

Definitely FIVE STAR app! Really amazing app. Sort of like a good mono recorder and Audacity all in one. Record to mp3 at various bit rates/ quality and also to FLAC, OGG, and wav! Plus audacity -type editing and an EXCELLENT dynamic Auto Gain input (can also manually adjust gain) . Wish the output jack could accept stereo mic INPUT. That would be awesome! And of course the app would need to record stereo. I'd pay twice the cost for this! Good work!!!
