[2013-10-12] A Google User: Good app with major bug Love this app. But it has a WOL bug, it never sends the WOL packet. Which means you have to manually switch your Squeezebox on. Big failing for remote control. |
[2013-10-10] A Google User: Much better than the stock app Needs the ability to queue more than one track at a time. |
[2013-10-03] A Google User: DO NOT BUY - NOT SUPPORTED Don't buy this app - it's unsupported, cumbersome to use and unintuitive. Additionally it crashes frequently and rebuilding cache is erratic. |
[2013-09-26] A Google User: Better than iPeng! This is a better version of iPeng on iOS but for Android. I use the iPeng app on my iPad and this for my GS3. This wins. |
[2013-09-20] A Google User: Awesome Get it now! |
[2013-09-07] A Google User: One thing missing The ability to operate from notification (play, pause, rew, ff, vol). |
[2013-08-27] A Google User: A brilliant app Any chance this could interface with Sonos? |
[2013-08-10] A Google User: I've tried them all and this is simply the best hands down! |
[2013-08-10] A Google User: Consistently great! Reliable, well thought out, and best of all fast. All the other competing apps lack in at least one of these areas. My most used paid for app. Please please please make a tablet version, I would pay £10 for it, no one else seems to be able to quite get it right! |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Working brilliantly The latest release is working brilliantly. With the addition of a plug-in on the LMS I can now create playlists really easily, control my synced wifi music system from any where in house or yard with a Samsung tablet. I'm going to buy another and mount it permanently outside for use on the patio. Squeeze commander has revolutionized my squeezebox system. There are a couple of new features I'd like. 1. The ability to upload tracks as well as download. 2. Ability to control player syncronization |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Perfect This app makes squeeze box a sonos killer. If I were logitech I would be offering these developers bags of money to buy this app. And get them to work for me. |
[2013-07-07] A Google User: Hands down the best Squeezebox controller I use it with a couple of Raspberry Pi's running Squeezelite and a pair of Duet receivers, works flawless. |
[2013-06-25] A Google User: Great Use it all the time to control my two squeezeboxes. |
[2013-06-13] A Google User: Overall Top 10 App! Downloaded, fired it up, found library & all controllers. The only thing that I had to do was hit play. Outstanding!!! |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: Great app but no dev Love this app but no updates for over a year and a half :-( Just want WOL working really! |
[2013-05-09] A Google User: Best squeezebox app Only marked it down to 4 stars as it appears the developer has not worked on it for a number of years. However still works fine on my S3. |
[2013-04-17] A Google User: "Poor" implies more competence than this deserves This app did not work for me. It may have worked well with older versions of Android, however. This app is in desperate need of testing, repair, and updates. I do not think the dev has intentions of fixing it. |
[2013-04-16] A Google User: Great but bad lag I really want to like this app. It's chock full of features, so much so I'm prepared to overlook an unwieldy interface but what spoils it is the lag on reconnecting. You can practically make yourself a cup of tea while it tries to reconnect. I say tries because it doesn't always succeed in doing so. In fact I've discovered that it can be faster to reconnect by quitting and restarting the program. Unforgivable in a remote control app. |
[2013-04-07] A Google User: Works fine |
[2013-04-03] A Google User: Needs a UI refresh Still my favourite squeezebox app. Would love to see a holo update though. The UI is looking dated. |
[2013-03-24] A Google User: Excellent app Beats the pants off the Logitech one by a country mile!!! |
[2013-03-16] A Google User: Doesn't work, bug reports ignored Finds the server but not the players. "Critical" bug report receives no response in a week. Try OrangeSqueeze instead, works for me. |
[2013-03-10] A Google User: Great! Any chance of a widget version? Got a spare home screen on my phone, be nice to have it permanently showing squeeze commander |
[2013-03-02] A Google User: Use this, Logitech app sucks Struggled through with 'official' app for ages. Plumped up and bought this app, can't believe I waited so long. The difference is like night and day. |
[2013-02-26] A Google User: Time for an update? Good app but would be great to see this updated to use the new holo styling. |
[2013-02-22] A Google User: Space for improvement It works. However, compared to iPeng/iOS - especially on a tablet - this app lacks quite some features and continous maintenance . What I miss most is a full screen thumbnail view to select my CDs. IPeng allows for at least 4 columns and 6 lines so more then 24 thumbnails on the screen. It's really annyoing to scan through your collection in one column only if you own a couple of hundred CDs. Instead of blue bars I'd prefer a grey/black theme, with autohide of those bars. I also miss a fullscreen playback screen without any bars. Just the CD cover and the info on tap. I really agree to other comments that the UI needs some shaping. For me it's a 3-4 rating. |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: mixed blessings. It is great when it works. I like this application a lot, but it it seems to be for very advanced users. I am moderately technical. I have used it on my Motorolla Android for a couple years with about 90 percent success. When I tried to put it on my Samsung as well, it just would not work. I landed in "no player found" land. So when I want to use this application I have to go get my old Motorolla phone (really.) I have tried a number of things, but it just doesn't work. It IS much nicer than the Logitec application, but the Logitec does work on the Samsung phone. So I Ieave the Motorolla upstairs for my Squeezebox classic and use my Duet with the remote it came with downstairs although i really do like the Squeeze Commander better than the Duet. It is just too frustrating to have an app that works ten percent of the time for no apparent reason. |
[2013-01-24] A Google User: Best app I own! This worked straight from the get-go! I've had it for over a year now and am compelled to come back and sing it's praise. I control all the players in my house with ease and the interface is better than the menus on my Squeeze Touch and Boom. If you have a Squeezebox and don't have this app yet, then do yourself a favor and get off your butt and fork out the $12. It's the best money you'll spend on an app on your phone. |
[2013-01-21] A Google User: Better than Logitech app Works OK on Nexus 7. UI is a bit counter intuitive but not too bad. I've got 10's of thousands of FLAC songs on the server. It finds most everything and works OK but doesn't find some of the album art. Even when displayed on the SBT. Maybe a tagging issue but I'm not going to worry about it. Works great as a remote and keeps my tired old eyes from trying to strain and read the SBT from across the room. Good app. |
[2013-01-14] A Google User: Great but lagging Great app but falling behind. Hadn't been updated in a while. Might be better options out there. Needs widgets. |
[2013-01-09] A Google User: Best Squeezebox controller app for Android I've tried 'em all, and this one is the best. Best interface, most reliable, works great on my Droid 3 phone. I use it every day as my primary controller for my entire SB system. |
[2013-01-06] A Google User: Works well Does what i want, much better than logitechs free remote on android. The ability to switch libraries and being able to change default select track function to add to end of playlist and it's a five from me. |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Great app Easiest way to control all my squeezebox players. Superb app. |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Well worth the money Tried the Logitech app which didn't even manage to log in so found this which worked first time with no log in needed. Everything you would need but slight gripe.. Search function is slightly too slow to respond. However totally worth the money! |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Outstanding App Works flawlessly. Better controller than the original Squeeze box stock. Connects without issues. IU smooth and intuitive. Wish one could save ad hoc playlists. |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Has evolved into a decent app Easier and better laid out than the sb controller |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Nearly perfect, but... Posts songs shared via Facebook multiple times? Sad that that is the only negative I can think up :-) I love this app, since I no longer have the Duet (have it to ex wife to use with other receiver) |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Fantastic app Great app for my squeezebox. Must have, much better than original free app. Really like feature to easy create and rearrange playlist. One suggestion. It will be good if you can add song to playlist with a single click. Keep up excellent work. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Doesn't support UE Smartradio firmware yet This app worked great until I updated my squeezebox juke to the UE Smartradio firmware. I understand they don't support it, but at the same time the squeezeboxes themselves are being phased out so I'd think twice before buying this app. |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: The best controller I tried all the other squeeze controllers and I like this one best. I run it on my nexus 7 and my phone. I can synch my two Touch's, using squeezeplayer I can play and listen to my library on the tablet, and on the phone. Control everything . Make groups and now I have added a player to my Mac too. Excellent visual and once you master 'long taps' you can build brilliant playlists. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Excellent Really excellent. Definitely as good as iPeng. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Very nice! |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Excellent! Fast, responsive. Recommended!! Best by far!!! :-D |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Now I'm a believer My husband has had the app for nearly a year and finally Convinced me to purchase it as well. Awesome to have control of the squeeze from across the house...particularly when he turns it up too loud ;-) |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Just do it! You spent a certain amount of dollars on the radio ... now buy this app for a few more to unleash its full potential. Seriously, people may complain about not getting a remote with the player ... but who cares when your remote can be on your phone, with far more potential than even a Harmony remote has. It's perfect. |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: Limitations spoil an otherwise excellent app A five-star program is spoilt by taking twenty seconds to reconnect to the server each time my device is unlocked. Changing the volume is suddenly a real pain the lag in response is so noticeable, a quick check of the playlist is impossible. |
[2012-10-08] A Google User: This... Way better than the official app :) |
[2012-10-06] A Google User: Can't live without it Maybe v next could have rich notification controls? |
[2012-10-05] A Google User: Awesome Better than Logitech's POS! Absolutely awesome. Can you give us the option to change the background/ theme? Some of us like to share screen shots of what we r playing with album/artist civer |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: Needs some UI work, but the best option available The text, particularly for the now-playing display is nearly unreadably small on high-DPI devices like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Would like to see less frequent (and faster) reconnecting when leaving and returning to the app. An Android 4 Holo-style revamp would be nice. The persistent Notification could be made less annoying and much more useful with the addition ofnow-playing and/or current-connection status. Lock screen now-playing info and playback controls are desperately needed. With such changes, this would be a SOLID 5-star app. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Klasser over den gratis version Meget bedre end den gratis udgave, kan klart anbefales |
[2012-09-15] A Google User: Just Works Everything works. I'm running squeezebox server on ReadyNAS and have a password configured for the server. This app works perfectly with it. Logitech's app doesn't. Also, support is sooooo much easier here than with Logitech. Glad I bought it, great work on a great app. |

[2012-09-14] A Google User: Excellent for the Squeeze Sever as well. I give it 4 stars because it works wonderfully. I only wish that the limit for how many music files you can have shown on your phone were changeable, I have a 1.5 TB hard drive, but the Squeeze commander only reads/shows up to the B's in alphabetical order of artists. |

[2012-09-02] A Google User: The best squeezebox remote Needs update to play nice with Jelly Bean. Screen lock override doesn't work reliably and it takes a few seconds to reconnect after waking the phone. Otherwise works flawlessly in Gingerbread and ICS. |

[2012-08-19] A Google User: Great This app is worth it. It's so much better than all the other Squeezebox controller apps. |
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Good but ui is not immediately simple I use squeezepad (which is simply a must have) on the iPad and needed an app for my phone, enter squeeze commander. Works really well and once you've got your head around the UI you'll be sorted. |

[2012-08-18] A Google User: The Best Hatte Logitech App zuerst, nicht funktioniert!!! Jetzt Squeeze Commander absolut top, einfach zu bedienen und ganze Musik selection von MP3 rübergenommen. Das ganze Geld wert. einfach klasse. 5 Sterne |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: An absolutely superb app I can't praise Christian enough for this app, fully featured and a very BIG step up from the official Squeezebox app. Takes a little while to find your way around as its so configurable and feature rich, but when you do, you realise how good it is. I was actually thinking of getting rid of my Squeezebox until I used this app - if I could give it 6 stars I would, its that good! |

[2012-08-16] A Google User: Works as described Asus Nexus 7 Wonderful, use it to control Squeezeplay & Squeezeslave PC, if you've used iPeng in iOS, it's pretty similar. Works flawlessly and worth the price paid. |

[2012-08-08] A Google User: Best Squeezebox App available, But... This is by far the most complete and the best Squeeze box controller application on the market and I appreciate having this alternative on my android devices. You won't find any other application out there with advanced functionality to control server settings, synchronization, etc. That being said, however, I have to point out that the user interface is confusing at best, and can be frustrating for the casual users. Navigation is difficult to understand and sometimes results in complete loss of the current playlist when the wrong "buttons are pressed" and the selected song "plays" instead of being "queued". iPeng on the iOS platform has a better UI, but that wouldn't justify going away from the Android platform :) |

The HMI is so well designed that you don't have to think... just press and like magic, it does what you want. Worth every penny. Solid 5 stars! Moto droid 2 San Jose, California. |

[2012-07-24] A Google User: Absolutely the best for controlling Squeeze boxes I am sure I rated this when I first used it but correcting that now. This is absolutely the best for remoting my media units. It controls my Squeezebox Boom and Sqeezeplayer on my main media PC. It will also sync play on both units for all around the villa. Support is also excellent as its from a fellow XDA guy. Btw, volume on each selected unit is either from a touch at the bottom of the screen or simply use the hardware volume buttons on your Android device. DOH! to the people who don't RTFM! |

[2012-07-23] A Google User: Much more powerful than Logitech app This app is awesome. You can make playlists containing music from multiple source (eg music server ans spotify). Search is fast. Album art beautiful. You can edit playlists directly and reorder them! Read the website to get a handle on the non intuitive UI. The key is "now playing" vs "browse". Takes 15minutes to get it but once you do this app is well worth it. Kudos to the dev! |

Should be able to download playlists and folder content. The GUI should perhaps be more intuitive like Sonos but that has always.been the cons of the Squeezebox vs Sonos in general. Nice work but could easily become awesome. |

[2012-06-28] A Google User: Easy Peazy Lemon Squeezy Installed this along with SqueezePlayer, works very well. I particularly like the auto mute/volume down feature & the UI (now I’ve discovered all the hidden features), the ease at synchronising player. The track downloading looks simple enough, however not managed to get anything downloaded yet. One minor improvement would be to make the widget GUI a bit flasher, (ie SqueezePlayer) |

[2012-06-07] A Google User: Great app with space for improvements I really love this app to control my good old SB3. There are merely a few improvements or features that would make it even greater: - On top of my list would be the option to add/enqueue songs to the existing playlist rather than playing them immediately, replacing the entire playlist. This would be amazing especially during parties, so folks can add their songs without ruining everybody else's selection. - The function to save the current playlist and be able to load it later. - A bigger/better volume control would also be great. |

[2012-05-31] A Google User: Disappointed... I'm disappointed in this app. The free version of the Squeezebox controller worked much better for me. This particular app simply failed to work. The user interface is a nightmare too, especially if you have a problem getting it to work and are looking to fix it on your own. |
