Official XBMC Remote (v. 0.8.8-beta) Разработано Team-XBMC |
An open source, full-featured remote for XBMC. It features library browsing, direct remote control and a slick interface. It's still beta but we're getting there.
PERMISSIONS:
Please see Wiki page on Google code before rating down because of private data access. This app is open source after all.
HONEYCOMB USERS:
Please note that this app is now available to Honeycomb tablets, but it's far from optimized. We're working on that.
VOLUME:
Use the hardware buttons of your phone while the remote is running.
INSTALLATION:
There is a complete and updated installation guide in the Wiki, featured on the front page of the website.
BUGS:
Please use the forum or the bugtracker. Comments in here are read sporadically but more for amusement than for serious debugging.

[2013-01-03] A Google User: Great, but development has stopped And if you're trying to control a Raspberry Pi XBMC installation, you're out of luck. I've since moved to Yatse. |
[2013-01-03] A Google User: excellent works with external links to play on you HTPC as DLNA without actually having DLNA on your phone.......pretty nifty |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Stopped working Use yatse much better |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Does not work w/ newest version. Please update. |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: Truly awesome |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: To practice and useful Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean. Improve the application state when it work on background. Can you turn on the compatibility with the last RC off xbmc "Frodo"? Good job |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Does not work Seems to use the deprecated http api, not the new json api... |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Good remote This app doesn't always work but is fairly reliable |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Yatse is better The Zero config stuff doesn't work and it seemed like it was remembering the IP as opposed to a MAC or comp name. Switched to Yatse and never looked back. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Basically broken Couldn't connect to either of my hosts (a Gentoo svn build, and a Pi running raspBMC, both v12.0 XBMC builds), tried from several android devices of varying versions. The project is practically dead, from what I've read online. I give 2 stars for a formerly good app. Now, go find another. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Nice app, lack of JSON I really like this asp, but the HTTP API has been replaced by JSON in recent versions of XBMC and this is not yet supported by this app. Hope for an update soon. |
[2012-12-29] A Google User: Disappointing This app if fully functional so it can't be faulted for not performing, but it looks really need quite poor compared to the iOS version. Please can Android users get some love too? |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Nice Doesnt work on Nexus 4, Frodo Rc2, allot of errors. I would love if a float on top function was made. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Buggy. Randomly acts like it has a stuck button and xbmc goes insane. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Not working This app is NOT working with Xbmc frodo. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: io. exception It has some error which haven't been fixed for ages. Great if they would start updating this great application. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Not that great Doesn't support Frodo yet. UI is lacking. there are other better alternatives. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Almost great The remote works very well but lacks some functions for using it easily with a large music library. Search functionality is missing and browsing through all artists or songs takes too much effort. Editing playlist (switching order, deleting songs) is not possible. When queuing a first song into an empty playlist the remote adds actually the whole album which is very annoying especially taking into account the other feedback. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Best XBMC Remote Configurable for Plex too. |
[2012-12-27] A Google User: Crashes Crashes with file not found exception. Use Yatse, it works great. |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Not compatible with Frodo Worked perfect. Upgraded to Frodo now it doesn't work. Needs a fix then it'll be 5 stars again (Bern using this app for a couple years now. First problem) |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: No tablet version Remote looks blurred, low res and ugly on a tablet. Hope they make one like the iOS version for tablets. |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Context Menu Show me how to get to the context menu and I'll give 5 instead of 4 stars... ... ... Two days later I figured out how to get to the context menu (TITLE button). So 5 stars as promised. Now, I'll be greedy. How about custom library short cuts on the primary screen. One for music videos would be nice. :) |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Meh. Works but very buggy. This is a very primitive remote control app for XMBC. I use it with OpenElec. Several times the buttons have gotten "stuck" and the only way to fix this is to reboot the phone. The app also constantly throws Java errors that you have to dismiss. |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Needs to be updated to support Frodo I get a JavaScript error upon connecting to my XBMC client |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Aesome SIII with 4.1.1. Works like a charm |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: Excellent Works great for controlling my laptop with xbmc running Lubuntu. The interface is pretty straightforward and supports landscape. If you've got a small form factor PC with xbmc that's hooked up to your HDTV this would be a pretty cool app to have. |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: cannot make it work Hi, I've been using this app for a while now and it worked perfectly I've just reinstalled win7, so decided to upgraded to frodo on my pc, and now I cannot reach the server from my phone I don't know of I'm doing something wrong, but similar apps work fine, I can see my libraries and control the playback java is installed I thought it could be that, but not. firewall deactivated |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Great Works fine if nothing happens after adding the host restart xbmc on computer. |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Great app This app works great on my LG-P500 cm9 combined with my archlinux htpc. App Powerbutton does not work. |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Does not work Will not work on raspbmc all different settings tried. yet yatse works perfect. Come on XBMC guys please get it to work and youll get 5 stars |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Disappointed Tried all ways to get it working, followed all instructions, installed a different remote and it connected straight away |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Update Big issue for connect |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: frodo update pls app stopped working when upgraded to frodo. please fix this. it may be buggy, but it still is the best one available when it works |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Great remote but not for Frodo Great remote but doesn't work with xbmc frodo yet. |
[2012-12-22] A Google User: Lacking functionality |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: doesnt work with frodo |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: awsome love it .. so pro & usefull |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: Outdated UI The UI is very outdated, and doesn't comply with the new Holo design guidelines. The app would be good if it wasn't hideous. |
[2012-12-19] A Google User: Super Aucun problème à part le mode moniteur qui marche pas. GS 2 |
[2012-12-18] A Google User: Incompatible with XBMC 12 A bit useless right now, because it doesn't work with the new release of XBMC. It's good software, it's just a shame that the XBMC development teams aren't talking to each other. |
[2012-12-18] A Google User: Great but does not work well with Frodo Upgraded XBMC to Frodo RC1 and now it only works as a 'push' remote because it doesn't find the webserver pages to retrieve info from |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Works beautifully Nice Job xbmc team! |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Fail on 4.2.1 Used to work on ICS however won't connect at all on jelly bean. While Yatse works with no problems whatsoever |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Doesn't work with my raspberry pi Looks like a solid app, but doesn't work for my purposes |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Works excellent however... There is a bug with fast fowarding and rewinding. Sometimes the video will freak out and jump around and if it closes the menu system will act like you're hitting a million buttons really fast. |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Volume controle button I really love this app. Except for the xbmc-remote part, I really need volume control, cause my hardware buttons are already worn out. Maybe a 2nd simplified remote ?? Please ? |
[2012-12-17] A Google User: Does not work with XBMC 12 Disappointed that this does not work with XBMC 12-Beta as installed by Raspbmc |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Plenty of bugs to be fixed :( It works, but the number of rough edges is just too big. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Works great |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Java errors on Nexus 7 The apps works on my Nexus 7 but I have to OK through java exception errors before it loads the actual remote screen. Sometimes I have to back out of the app and get back in before it will connect. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Good but Sad that it hasn't been updated in nearly a year. The iOS version has had major changes in the last couple months. Why has android been forgotten. It even looks old. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: RPi Doesn't work with raspbmc. Found another app that works great. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: No longer works with xbmc Loved this app. But I've just updated my raspberry pi which is now using the latest version of xbmc. This app will no longer connect. I would love for it to be updated for the latest build. Preety pleeeease. |
[2012-12-14] A Google User: Doesn't work with Raspbmc Good app but features now depreciated in latest XBMC builds especially on my Raspbmc setup. Please update to work with latest builds! Remote kind of works with error screens popping up. |
[2012-12-12] A Google User: Update please Nice Software, love it! Could you update for Frodo support? |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: Works well & full-featured Wow. Love it. Thank you xbmc team for making my Media so sexy! |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: Deprecated API Won't work 'til updated.... App uses the deprecated html API..... Use "Yatse" for now...... |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: Needs an update Great remote for XBMC 11. However, XBMC 12 has updated and changed things so the remote doesn't work 100% any more. An update to the remote to support XBMC 12 would change my rating to 5 star. |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: Great This app just works perfectly, with awesome features. |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: Does not work |
[2012-12-09] A Google User: Good App But Interface Let's it Down Good app, works well with XBMC over WiFi. But the UI could do with an overhaul to bring it more in line with the iOS app |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Update Great app but stopped working for xbmc 12. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: 5 stars but please add queue instead only play when sharing to xbmc remote. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Very nice to have but... Could be just a bit more. I love that you have your media at your finger tips but it teases you with what it could have had. For everything you can do with this app I wish I could manage my files more in depth. But for now I'll be happy with it showing the thumbnail for the movie I'm watching. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Perfect app Works great. Easy to use and search my music and movie collection and navigate and play content. Using it on One X with Android 4.0 and now 4.1. |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Former apple user Apple is ok but really needs to be updated and needs the support that the iDevices get |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: I LOVE this app ... BUT it doesn't work on XBMC 12 This app works awesome on XBMC 11, however not so well on ver. 12. I know, I know, version 12 Frodo is beta and one should expect issues. Hopefully there will be an update soon so I can use my remote again - without (java.io.filenotfoundexception) errors! |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Amazing |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Acer iconia a110 jellybean This app is 5 stars on my sensation 4G but on my tablet the remote is completely useless and non functioning. |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Doesn't work with RaspBMC. Plus, it's butt-ugly. Try Yatse instead. |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Works well usually Every once in a while it seems like one of the butting will get "stuck" and Xbmc will just start scrolling around in circles very rapidly. This happens on 2 different phones, and only when using this program. Very annoying but it stops after a minute or two. Also it would be nice if you were able to use the keyboard instead of only being able to use the arrow buttons to select text. Other than that, nice app and easy to use. |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: Needs to be updated Not been touched since January's and isn't compatible with frodo |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Excellent app I love the app, can't wait for jelly bean support on my galaxy s3 |
[2012-12-04] A Google User: Really well written app A must if you have xbmc installed anywhere. Great for raspbmc |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Was great Hasn't been updated in a while, doesn't work for new xbmc versions. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Great app. Great app. Has a few quirks but they're trivial. Would be great to see added lock screen capabilities similar to other xbmc remotes. SMS on screen and pausing on call are great touches that work well. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Awesome awesome awesome! Took less than 2 minutes to set up on my XBMC box, and being able to browse my libraries from anywhere in the house is awesome. Great for putting on music while doing housework without having to return to the media box to change/queue songs. Also so simple a wife could use it! 5 stars without a doubt, great work guys. Using Samsung GS3. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Still best but needs update Best remote with the best options out there but still needs to add a few things. Biggest would be a button to enable subtitles without having to go through menus. Also would like to see a shuffle button for music and easy way to see directories for music. |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: Great remote. I also recommend unified remote although it does cost 2 or 3 dollars. It's well worth it. It has remotes for several popular apps including xbmc (I prefer this one) as well as mouse/keyboard, shutdown & Wake-On-Lan. It has a free version too. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Doesn't work with XBMC 12 Beta 1 Please repair this. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Works a treat Great bit of software. Works fine on gnex and nexus 7. Doesn't yet support xbmc frodo version though. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Old api This app uses the old http api which isn't supported in newer xbmc releases. At the moment it doesn't work. |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Impressive More than just a remote control over WiFi. So many features. Haven't found any issues yet. |
[2012-11-30] A Google User: Works perfectly I have two XBMC locations in my house (soon to be three) and this app works wonderfully for both the Linux and Windows versions. Not much else to say 'cept it's awesome. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Used to work. Worked great in the past. Doesn't work with latest version from PPA. |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Connection Presentation etc looks great. Can't seem to connect to my phone though, says unable to find host ip etc |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Pretty functional, but ugly This app works pretty well, and I like how many features it has, but the interface is rather ugly - it doesn't even attempt to conform to Android design guidelines. I prefers Yatsee, even worth paying |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Great app, doesn't work with Openelec 3 Beta 2 abymire Great app, but stopped working with xbmc12 (openelec 3 beta2) . When connecting it says FilenotfoundException...xbmchttp?command=GetSystemInfo(120) |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Not working with latest xbmc builds Dev ignores email |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Too @#$% slow! When are developers going to learn. You can create a beautiful ui with all the functionality one could hope for but if it's slow as molasses it's useless!!! Try caching! |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Awesome Configured xbmc and rebooted, installed this app and now have complete control from my jellybean driven SGS. |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Lack of Frodo support Useless with newer XBMC builds. |
[2012-11-28] A Google User: Very useful. The UI could be nicer and more "Holo-ish", including stuff like swype to delete on the now playing list (I'm thinking theme support). XBMC is the best that could happen to multi platform media players. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Doesn't work with latest xbmc As the title says. API has changed but this app still uses the old one. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Great The XBMC team has done an awesome job! Easy to setup, easy to use. I can't wait for the full XBMC for Android. |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: No Frodo Great app. But like others it stopped working with Frodo. Looking forward to a fix. Still love it and gets 5 stars regardless. |
[2012-11-26] A Google User: Help The remote doesnt work only when a movie is playing? Is that how its suppose to be because I cant use the controller option? |
[2012-11-26] A Google User: rasp pi openelec not working at all |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Amazing Works great from anywhere! |
