MyPOD Podcast Manager Free (v. 0.995.38) Разработано Sentinel Web Technologies |
MyPOD is full-featured and very powerful podcast app for the power-user. It can take a bit of time to learn (there is extensive help available) but with a bit of config it will download and keep you up to date with all your fave audio or video podcasts ... no syncing with desktops or other servers.
See below for permission usage ...
If you have a particular problem you want help with, then SEND ME AN EMAIL (use email link in settings or on the app page) - I can't really help you if you just leave a comment as I can't get back to you ...
It is quite popular with podcast junkies. If you like it please take the time to leave a comment ... it *really* is appreciated.
People seem to love it or hate it ... If you have problems, then get in touch via the feedback links in the settings page or below - I am always eager to help. the UI feedback is not great as you can see from the comments - but the people who get it, like it - so it might be worth your time. But if you are a UI snob then this app is most likely not for you. Some people just want simple apps with a few options - this is not that app.

[2013-06-24] A Google User: Great Excellent! Easy to use, fully featured and free. I don't know why people would complain about the UI, its not hard to use. |
[2013-06-24] A Google User: The Best The best by far! MyPod might be quirky but it is the best podcast app for Android! Easy enough to master and enjoy. Started using 4 devices ago and now I have it for my Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1. |
[2013-06-23] A Google User: GRRREAT! I've enjoyed this app for quite sometime on phone and tablet. It's my constant companion. WELL DONE! |
[2013-06-16] A Google User: It works! Unlike a dozen other podcast apps I've tried even some I've paid for cuz I thought they were the best. That's past tense. This ugly lil app just works. Without needing to be pretty doing it! If U want a fashionable app get an iPhone. If you're more interested in function this app does it! |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Easy powerfull and free |
[2013-06-03] A Google User: Excellent! I love this app! I've been using it for years with no troubles. Galaxy S3. |
[2013-05-31] A Google User: I liked it. Now I love it! And I liked it before. Now it's freaking awesome! V2 is great! I use it and think about how cool it is. Things placed well. |
[2013-05-15] A Google User: Been using for years. The only app I use and recommend highly to others. It works. |
[2013-04-29] A Google User: Great app Sent an email and they responded right away. Best podcast app out there |
[2013-04-22] A Google User: Critical commuting infrastructure for me I never sync my phone with a desktop machine so this phone-basec podcatcher is absolutely critical. Its rock solid and works great. |
[2013-04-12] A Google User: What happened? This was my podcast player for nearly two years! I liked it so much, I bought the unlock key. But lately it crashes constantly! If you stop the podcast, it starts from the beginning. It never did that before. I have found another podcast player. Bye Mypod. It was good while it lasted. |
[2013-04-11] A Google User: Use it everyday! Really nice & highly detailed podcast app! Sure there's a few quirks, but I'm also sure they'll be fixed in the new update, which I'm going to buy now while it's cheaper! |
[2013-03-24] A Google User: Very Good UI could be better beside that very Good application. |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: Good, but playback issues I liked the app, but had playback issues. Specifically, when I would stop and restart playback, the app seemed to forget where I was in the program. Usually, playback resumed from the beginning. Also, upon finishing a podcast, the app would sometimes loop back to the start of the podcast I just finished instead of going to the next podcast in my play list. On the positive side, I liked how new podcasts were automatically downloaded. |
[2013-03-20] A Google User: A mess. Interface is clumsy and incomprehensible. |
[2013-03-15] A Google User: Awesomeness... It has all the pods I've been searching for plus a playlist... it's awesome. Multiple dl's and not that clunky. You have to try out or buy full version 'cause this is a trial, so only 10 feeds. Fabulous app. It has all the pods l wanted to listen/ watch, doesn't take up space, and pretty much awesome. The GUI a little eh, but I'm all about functionality over design. I've literally tried all and this one IS the BEST! |
[2013-03-15] A Google User: Crippleware, unable to store more than ten feeds. |
[2013-03-12] A Google User: Still learning, many features... As I get more practice setting up the feeds and using the player, I like it more. For example, if I want to see files organized by a certain source, I view feeds, pick the one, then view files- then it shows just that list only. Quite nice. Still trying to figure out the point of a foreground and background player... :-P |
[2013-03-10] A Google User: Can't wait It's great software have using for ages I have seem what is coming for version though and ... wow. I am hanging around. |
[2013-02-28] A Google User: On to greener pastures Ok. 2.2 issues you have to uninstall and reinstall. Not all good though because it deleted all my gd feeds! Very effing aggravating. I'm not happy. *Update - ok, I've been using this podcast manager FOREVER. However more and more issues with each update. Cuts off file for no reason. Deletes files for no reason. Super buggy. Can't take it anymore. On to greener pastures. |
[2013-02-18] A Google User: Doesn't work App doesn't work. There is no option to manually type in a podcast feed address, and search is broken. |
[2013-02-15] A Google User: Great app! A little tough to figure ou but overall Can't wait for the new UI! I use CONSTANTLY for audio podcasts! |
[2013-02-14] A Google User: Does what it says on the box... Not a great UI, but is a great app, I bought the unlock key because it worked so well... Can't wait for v2! |
[2013-02-11] A Google User: "nothing to download" but I just added feeds Sorry, but it's not working. Just added feeds and it's not downloading anything. No sync button and my podcasts aren't showing up, when I added them I selected to download automatically. Maybe it's lost somewhere in the confusing interface. Very disappointed. |
[2013-02-11] A Google User: Few important faults I would rate this free version of the app much higher if they fixed a few dealies. 1) the app doesn't properly mute when my phone is muted. 2) if I pause a file mid listen, then start it back up after using other programs, the file is still queued up, but will start over instead of continuing off from the last played part. 3) kinda goes along with 2, but when pulling a file back up after pausing and coming back from other programs, the player automatically starts. Other than that, awesome. |
[2013-02-09] A Google User: Great app. Not as hard to figure out as people are saying. Highly configurable. Best options available in a podcast manager. Works great Galaxy S3. |
[2013-02-09] A Google User: Pretty good I haven't found a pod car tool that I love yet, but this one is pretty good. |
[2013-02-04] A Google User: Poor |
[2013-02-02] A Google User: Top Best one, easy controls ,playlist, download podcast and free!! |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Awesome app Love the app. Only version of a podcast app I know of that's free and allows more then one download at a time. Thanks for the great app! |
[2013-02-01] A Google User: Great app Tried several podcast apps for android this is far and away the best i've used. The only one I use now. OK UI could be easier, but once you get into it, it's OK. Search works very well and podcasts are reliably downloaded and easy to access. Looking forward to the new UI. |
[2013-01-26] A Google User: Eh It used to be great but now...when I try to download a podcast, it starts, lags then stops and keeps randomly popping up on my phone all day long which drains the battery. |
[2013-01-12] A Google User: Good app Good app. I like the way the auto downloader works.. Easy to set up to download when plugged in on wifi. Player mostly works good and is configurable. As the author said, its not for everyone. Not the most simplistic app, but is very full featured. Only reason i took one star off is a problem with the player. Sometimes, after a reboot, the podcast I was listening to before would not play. The fix is to skip to another podcast in the playlist, then reverse back. It will then play right were I left off. Not sure why it does this, but is easy enough with that work around. Fix this and it would be 5 stars. I feel bad for the developer, 10 feeds seems way to many for the free version, and I have no reason to upgrade, other than to support the dev. |
[2013-01-06] A Google User: Drag down menu widget Hey, love the app and it's features - could you add a drop down widget when the status bar is dragged down, with pause-play-30 sec rewind? |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Great Best manager out there. Takes a while to learn but worth it. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Great listening to podcasts! I have only used the MyPod player, but I am pleased with it. I also appreciate that the company is responsive to suggestions from listeners. They respond quickly and positively. As a result, if this app is not the best now, it certainly will be! |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Best podcast downloader! And, for free! OK, You have to get used to the interface, but it's packed with features and works so well! I've tried many feedcatchers/podplayers, this is my first choice now. And eventually got the paid version. Worth every penny. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Poor Bad interface, limited function options, ugly visuals |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: Love it Easy to use |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: not working on my galaxy note |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Chaos Ui is just terrible, chaotic and unusable. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Yay Love this podcatcher. N1 2.3.4 and Nexus S, 2.3.4 "rooted" . Oh and I LIKE the UI! :) |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: What a pile Read the title |
[2012-11-13] A Google User: Works for Me I had been using Dogcatcher for podcasts on my old phone, but I couldn't get it to work right on my new Galaxy S3. Tried a half dozen different apps and this one was the most functional of the lot. Nice ability to set how often feeds update and download on a per feed basis. The interface is clean, though it takes a little getting used to. Well worth the price for the paid App if you have more than 10 podcasts you listen to regularly. |
[2012-11-12] A Google User: great app but ui needs some work... |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Poor The feeds I wanted were jot there |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Too complex UI The app may work nicely if it wasn't for a rather complete yet cumbersome and complex UI that makes all actions more difficult. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: horrible user interface bleagh the UI needs a complete overhaul or a skin system |
[2012-10-18] A Google User: Love this app! Free app was awesome, paid for it because it was worth it. There is a learning curve, but not so bad you can't start listening to a favorite podcast right away. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Superbuggem I have the paid version for a reason and its not the extra features, it is because this developer needs supporting. This app is perfect for pod junkies like myself. Excellent product. |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Best podcast application !! Best one that i've found to this day !! |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: 2.x UI The user interface uses the Android 2.x look. Also there are several places where are the colors just clash. |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Best podcast manager!!! Ok first off has many features, which means lots of settings. So there's a learning curve. So if you want some one to hold your hand, go get an iPod, or a $10 app |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Overly complicated...ffs just wanted to play a few news programs! |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Doesnt work with Cyrilic characters Russian feed names are displayed as "??????????" |
[2012-10-07] A Google User: An everyday event I like this programme manager a LOT. I've a couple of the others but decided I wanted this one because it just felt better to use. Now, I use it every day along with my alarm clock and wake up to on demand videos each morning. If I stay up late, I make sure to set up a controversial video that I think is antagonistic - it gets the brain cells working. The only improvement I could think of making would be to give the user the option of choosing the download device - like the removable SD card or a USB device. Other than that, this one is just right. I can set it to autodownload according to a schedule, and also limit how much space I'm willing to let it use.. Seems like just about all the bases are covered. Oh, and I haven't had a crash / force close since I downloaded the app. (disclaimer - I wasn't among the first to download it, so any bugs were likely worked out by the time I got here) Oh - that's right - I'm using it on an old Entourage Pocket Edge running Froyo (Android 2.2) so it still supports the old devices. I almost forgot to mention - I'd also recommend getting the pro version after you try it for a while - you'll want to use it for a LOT of podcasts and such. |
[2012-10-03] A Google User: Powerful As if I were using raw API! |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Servicable, needs work UI is function oriented and tedious. Needs to be workflow oriented like Google Listen. Too much work to manage feed, downloads & playlist. Lots of little bugs and glitches. It is full featured and works with feeds requiring auth. Developer is responsive - he fixes bugs quickly. |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Best app on market Have used this app for a long time always been good nothing beats it highly recommend. |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Very nice, playback interface should rotate though In all this is a very good app. Auto updates podcasts and does well with saving them and playing them. My only complaint (reason for not 5 stars) is that everything in the app can rotate except for the playback interface. It would be nice if this interface could rotate as well |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Powerful This is not only a great tool for Android users to get podcasts but it also takes rss subscriptions from websites with plenty of options |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: Cool app Easy to use. Easy to update |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Great app Great app, responsive support. Very good cast management-- download a cast only on WiFi, or only on WiFi with power plugged in, and you can customize this at the cast or individual episode level. It then doesn't take long at all after you get that connection for the downloads to start. The user interface takes some getting used to-- I'd suggest leaving off the background player when you start using it, and don't use the buttons in the top right until you're used to finding things in the menus as it's easy to get lost. |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Pretty awful Imagine installing a DOS program on an Android. Then factor in a total lack of user-friendliness. |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Mediocre If you are allowing to import from Google why not use the built in Google framework? Other UI problems, like no close button on help screen. |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Samsung s3 Works great samsung s3 love it and its free thanks |
[2012-09-22] A Google User: Works well, good control of how each feed is handled. The only thing I don't like is the visual aspect, it's not standard and is slightly slow on mine |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: Love It |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: Hat off! This is an absolutely great app (for a power user). Among its many useful features I love the fact that when you resume an episode, it starts playback not exactly where you left off, but slightly earlier so as to give you a chance to remember the context. How much earlier depends on how long it's been since you last listened to the podcast. Brilliant idea! |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: Bloated, overcomplex |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: Excellent Awesome. Love the lock screen player . Keep up the good work. |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: MyPod Love it a bit different at first but once you get use to it its great |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Cant close the help screen How the heck do you close the help screen??? |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Great Found the desktop interface very useful and got working in about 10 mins Thanks |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Wanted to like it... It has one important feature I wanted, in that it leaves the files in mp3 format instead of putting them in some dumb proprietary container format, meaning I can play the files with Poweramp. However the interface needs serious simplification. Something more like Google listen's design would be great. |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Great! |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Best podcast app Great for keen podcast users. UI is straight forward to use really. Recommended. |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Excellent tool Everything I want, no useless stuff. Also having zero issues with strange behavior. |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Confusing Looks like it might be good but I can't work out how to use even the basic features. I just want to play an mp3 that's saved on my SD card. Is it too much to ask? |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Clunky I found this very hard to use. The UI is very busy and extremely clunky. I couldn't change my Google reader password and could find the podcast that i like |
[2012-08-24] A Google User: Giving up I really wanted to like this app, but it's missing some key features (media button integration, auto-delete) and the UI is just too painful. I gave up and bought DoggCatcher, which looks perfect for my needs. |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: Keeps losing my subscriptions Featurewise this is a great app, but after losing my subscriptions and being unable to recover from backup and having to manually reenter my subscriptions 3 or 4 times I'm switching to the more free Acast. This is slightly better for customizable autodelete setting but is turning into too much work and frustration otherwise. |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Only 10 feeds! Got to importing from google reader - manually then hit the ridiculous limit... Might have to writeu own app... |
[2012-08-14] A Google User: Confusing GUI Maybe it has been designed for a tablet but to me it's pretty confusing, too many buttons. |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Makes you feel stupid right away Downloaded this for my Nexus 7. As soon as the app opens for the first time, the help screen opens. 10 minutes later, I still haven't figured out how to close the help screen and start using the app. Ha ha ha, I know, I'm stupid. Good laugh on me. But there's no "X" to close the window. And (obviously) there's no mention of how to close the help screen from the Help file. Maybe it's a bug. Maybe I'm missing something obvious. Or maybe it's just poorly tested crap. |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Looks good I've only played with it for about 10 minutes but already I've managed to link up the Chris Moyles show to auto download each week on wifi. I might make my first purchase on play soon! |
[2012-08-06] A Google User: Good Works |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: All the bells & whistles a little cluttered. This app does everything a podcast catcher/player should. The interface is a little cluttered, but that does make it easy to get to all the features. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Gone downhill Used to work fine, but now podcasts don't download frequently and those that do vanish dispite success notification. Am sadly moving on. Galaxy s I |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Awesome A podcast player that really works! Read the help file, this is the best I have found by far |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Excellent Better then Google play and dogcatcher. UI gives a high degree of customization and control. Very stable and reliable. |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Best Podcast Player Out There I have used this for several years and it's one of my favorite apps. The UI takes a bit to learn, but now on Monday morning I can have my week's worth of podcasts downloaded and arranged into a playlist in 15 minutes. |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: Responsive developer The UI has room for improvement (which the developer is working on) but there is a lot of functionality in this app. It is worth purchasing just because the developer has been prompt in answering questions posed to the google feedback site. |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: No longer works No headset control now in my Xperia S with ICS |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Does exactly what I want I really like this app a lot. I set it and forget it, and keep getting fresh content to listen to. Minor gripes: It occasionally forgets where in the playlist it is, it does not describe the difference between foreground and background playing. |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Great app I have had this app for over a year. I love how it works and is set up. I have only ever had one issue with the app. I emailed them and received a prompt and helpful response and fixed my issue. Love this app. Works great and the tech support was some of the best I have come a cross. A++++ app I recommend this to any one looking for a great app for pod casts. |
[2012-07-12] A Google User: Does not work Does not update my feeds anymore and can't seem to get any help fixing in. A big dissapointment after paying for this rip off. |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: Problems With Last 2 Updates Cannot use programmed button in Car Home function to go into MyPod, then go into Google Maps to monitor traffic on ride home from work. The minute the map is fully loaded and GPS kicks on, MyPod shuts off. Very disappointed, as this function was working perfectly before last 2 updates. Pro version with Droid 1. Also having problems with podcasts downloading, giving me the checkmark that indicates it has downloaded properly, then, when the phone is used again, perhaps hours later or even the next day, downloading the same podcast for a second and sometimes a third time. Really love app, but :-( |
[2012-07-09] A Google User: very nice It would be perfect if I could create multiple playlists. |
[2012-07-03] A Google User: Used to be good. Too many glitches |
