MortPlayer Music (v. 1.2.5) Разработано sto-helit.de |
Simple to use music player for all those who prefer folder structure over tags. (You want your mix folder, not separated by artists, right?).
Home screen Widgets in separate download "MortPlayer Widgets"
Want to fix or add a translation? Go to http://www.getlocalization.com/MortPlayer_Music/
Features:
- Folder based navigation with simple folder change and auto progress to next folder
- Configurable main directory (e.g. all files below "/sdcard/music" or "/sdcard/audiobooks", individual for each player)
- Playlist support: Reads m3u, m3u8, pls, and asx; writes m3u and m3u8; allows adding files outside of main directory; easy access to playlists in main folder and subdirectories
- Ignores .nomedia (you set the directory, should be fine - right?)
- Reads ID3 tags itself (usually less buggy than Android's media library)
- Album art support: ID3 tags (jpg+png, types "other" and "front cover"), AlbumArt.jpg/png, cover.jpg/png, folder.jpg
- Plays all media types supported by core Android (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, M4A, 3GP, MIDI, Wave) and some device specific (WMA, FLAC), but only on devices which support them
- Easy folder/file selection by tapping cover resp. tag info
- Set the track order for each folder
- Flexible play, shuffle, and repeat modes (stop after track, repeat folder, shuffle files per folder, shuffle all files, ...)
- Supports headset buttons and OpenWatch
- Pause/continue on headset removal/plug and calls
- Sleep mode (stop playback, power off not allowed by Android system)
- Alarm clock
- Swipe gestures
- Selectable layouts (so far only default, car, and big cover) and themes
- Selectable backgrounds (theme color, own images, or wallpapers - even Live Wallpapers)
- Delete and send files
- Supports ScrobbleDroid and Simple last.fm Scrobbler (both interfaces also supported by many other scrobblers, like the official last.fm app)
- Supports equalizer, bass boost, and reverb on devices with Android 2.3
- and some more, just check the preferences...
Used permissions:
Phone state: Used to pause during a call. Otherwise it would only be muted by the system.
Wake lock: So the playback isn't stopped when you turn off the screen. Also for some optional features like disabling the auto screen off during playback.
Disable keyguard: In case you only want to use the app's lock screen. (And not return to the default one afterwards.)
Write/delete external storage: For some internal files in <your music dir>.MortPlayer, e.g. cached folder covers from ID3 tags and track order lists.
Internet: Ads (AdMob)
Boot completed: To reschedule the alarm clock after boot.
Tasks: For "StopService" activity, to avoid the system returns to player afterwards

[2013-08-25] A Google User: Awesome is an understatement This is by far the BEST music player I have ever used on any device including the PC. Must have, finds all your music regardless what app you used to d/l it. Amazon MP3, download mp3, ripped CD's from my PC. Totally customizable play lists that are easy to sort by drag and drop, install the widgets too, controls in notification. |

[2013-08-04] A Google User: Excellent mirko I have been following your player since I owned a Samsung omnia more than 5 years back that ran on Windows mobile 6. You have made this player all the more feature rich. Thanks a ton. A great shift from the stock player on android |

[2013-08-01] A Google User: Doesn't remember last played position |
[2013-07-31] A Google User: Simply the best The best music player bar none when connected with a good headphone amp like the fiio E11 & some decent earphones, the sound quality is surpassing anything i ever got from an iphone/ipod, keep up the good work |
[2013-07-30] A Google User: One of best players on my opinion. Share 1st player position with Music Folder Player Free, cause can't save playlist state. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Chandu .Micromax A89 Superb Player but Playlist shows folder view please update album view |
[2013-07-28] A Google User: Only music player app that respects folder structures Perfect more or less |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Mort Player Brilliant. The only decent player I can find that lets me choose by folder. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Great Apps! Awesome Apps. Love toi Play auront-ils on This. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Awesome for Hard Drive based music With an Android device installed in the car one of the hardest things I've encountered is finding a music app which can play music directly from USB attached storage. MortPlayer does an awesome job of this and has a very car friendly user interface. I only wish the shuffle button was a toggle and not a sub menu function. |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Shuffles annoyingly. I've used this player for a long time, and I've come to notice a really annoying habit it has. I have a playlist of 500+ songs that I listen to regularly, but this player has a tendency to shuffle mainly among only around 100 of those tracks, if even that many. I end up having to skip forward a lot because it's like, "I heard that one yesterday. That one too. That one too. Ugh, that one too!" A better shuffle algorithm will get you your stars back. In addition, I'd like to be able to hide the title bar; I feel it's wasting space. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Just great Nice job |
[2013-07-22] A Google User: Best player ever! Finally the player that manages music in folders on right way. I have finally found the player that can easily replace PowerAmp and allows me to play music the way I want. I would like to suggest few features to make this player perfect : 1. Add share option when multiselect files. 2. Add search option when enter folders list. 3. Add file info/details in file menu. Thank you for this player, simply is the best! |
[2013-07-21] A Google User: Great Does its job very well |
[2013-07-20] A Google User: El mejor en android Una maravilla. Desde Nexus S |
[2013-07-20] A Google User: At last. A decent music player which organises my music in the order in which I install it. Miles better than WinAmp etc which just splatters my music all over the SD card where it sees fit. Easy to find what I want thanks to its perfect track/album sorting. |
[2013-07-18] A Google User: Excellent folder player Scans all music folders and has a decent equaliser. |
[2013-07-17] A Google User: Awesome The best music player out there |
[2013-07-16] A Google User: Best Best ever player! Ingenious |
[2013-07-14] A Google User: Great app folder plqayer with many extra s Great app A bit interface confusing but has many excellent features like controls on locked screen and sleep timer. |
[2013-07-14] A Google User: GREAT!!! It's WAY better than the default music player, and it can do more than the default player! Now if there was support for different soundfonts, this would be the perfect app! |
[2013-07-12] A Google User: My favorite player Can play per folder, in the right order... |
[2013-07-09] A Google User: Just what I had been searching It has everything I had wished for. Great folder player. |
[2013-07-09] A Google User: I love it!!! I've been using MortPlayer for my audiobooks since I got my phone more than a year ago. It is by far the best player for audiobooks, and MortPlayer Music gives me everything I want and need for my music too. I love having the separate apps so the media doesn't get mixed during playback. The interface is completely logical and easy to use and the widgets are great for easy access. My only complaint is that the app's icons be different colors as the two are too similar and difficult to differentiate. |
[2013-07-04] A Google User: Perfect It has very good sound quality, powerfull and simple interface. I still can't belive it's free, because it's better than leading paid player apps. And I love the FOLDER NAVIGATION !!!. |
[2013-07-03] A Google User: .flac support? :( |
[2013-07-02] A Google User: Great player, best for folders. Good if you keep your music organized in folders, as I do. Small things can make a big difference, the app title should start with 'Music' not with stupid 'Mort', specially when dev has an audiobook app that starts also with 'Mort'. Small things like that make a big difference. Uninstall, there are 5 star players out there. |
[2013-07-02] A Google User: File names lost When I imported my mp3's the names of many of the songs got lost. How can I go in and correct this? |
[2013-06-29] A Google User: Fad |
[2013-06-28] A Google User: Very nice. The one nd only best music player in android mobile world. |
[2013-06-27] A Google User: Thanks Exactly what I was looking for |
[2013-06-24] A Google User: Nice Gj |
[2013-06-24] A Google User: Add DLNA/AllShare streaming/pushing/rendering. Please consider adding the ability to switch/push the output of your two audio player apps to a DLNA receiver (aka Samsung Allshare). I'd like to be able to take what I'm listening to and route it to my tv/stereo without having to load some other inferior player and relocate my position/song. See the default Samsung player or YouTube app for examples of a button which lets you choose another "renderer". Also, your email address bounces.. :( |
[2013-06-22] A Google User: Best one |
[2013-06-21] A Google User: GALAXY S111 Great app ever |
[2013-06-21] A Google User: Great player iTunes messed up the tags of many of my digital files. It's nice that Mort organizes them by their folder hierarchy. |
[2013-06-21] A Google User: Just as good as the audiobook player I downloaded this simply because I was so impressed by the audiobook player, and was not disappointed. Great configuration options, nice controls and excellent organisation. The usage of folder structures makes it all the more intuitive in operation. Far too many players try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to handling files, and this one just does what it should. An excellent product well worth downloading. |
[2013-06-20] A Google User: Beats every player in the market even poweramp Suggestions: 1. Keep the apk size small so that the app runs smoothely just for reference there is a launcher in the store named lightning launcher, it is 200kb in size and has features which even go launcher doesn't hv n those which go launcher has, it really revolutionary - why i am all writing this is because your app has almost every feature user may look for but plz make and keep it speedy/ lag free, for me it lags just a bit while browsing folders. Plz cnsidr. 2. UI can be improved greatly. BIG THANKS. |
[2013-06-18] A Google User: Excellent Audio File player Best player going around. Plays music files and audiobooks even if the files are from another app. Cut and paste audio files from your computer onto phone...tell mort to read the file you cut n pasted the audio files from your phones int/ext memory ... Press play...enjoy |
[2013-06-16] A Google User: The best player Good |
[2013-06-12] A Google User: Great app gud1 |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Finally! Beautiful interface, great controls, all the options you want are there, the interface lets you do everything you could possibly want. It may take a minute to figure out but once you do it's perfect! Great for power users. |
[2013-06-10] A Google User: Lots of good features I've tried lots of android music player and I like this one the most. All I needed was folder playing feature, folder navigation with file sorting option, and playlist support. This is perfect player for me. But 'lots of feature' also means it's hard to get used to all the features and its interfaces. The only problem I have is I can't make playlist from folder when it's selected with subfolders. Is there any way I can add a parent folder with subfolders to playlist? Too hard to make playlist. |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: Best music folder player ever |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: Needs improved remote control There is no option to set button action to increase or decrease media volume. Also, changing button action for the Skip Forward button when long pressed, from 'next folder' to 'fast forward' requires restart of the app. Otherwise it reverts back to 'next folder'. I ended up installing the Philips Headset app. |
[2013-06-05] A Google User: Still one of the best... Has a few flaws, but it's still one of the best music players around... |
[2013-06-05] A Google User: The only Android music player Love this app, can't praise it highly enough. Take the time to really go through the settings and you can get everything just right for your needs. Many thanks. |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Don't really know what to say..... Can't find any of my downloaded music in DCM..... |
[2013-05-23] A Google User: Doesn't handle random playlists very well |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: A good Thank you MORt |
[2013-05-21] A Google User: Answer to m y 3gp problem Love |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: The best music player I've found. Although, I wish it played flac. |
[2013-05-19] A Google User: gut aber es fehlt eine option um playlists zu löschen und es wäre gut wenn man in einer playlist die musik dateien NICHT löschen kann. |
[2013-05-18] A Google User: awesome only player you will ever need in your entire life. would be 6/5 if it supports skins and scrobbling, but it's just perfect |
[2013-05-17] A Google User: Best music player in the market Don't know how people can complain about the UI, Its perfect |
[2013-05-15] A Google User: Junk Haha my head fell off |
[2013-05-13] A Google User: Did EXACTLY what I wanted I wanted to play music from my external hard drive on my tablet without playing the songs I have stored on the tablet itself - and this app allows me to do just that!!! |
[2013-05-12] A Google User: latest interface disaster the update to the interface is un useable. selecting a folder to play is impossible and complicated. a shame as this was the best music player. a lesson in how not to improve an app. |
[2013-05-12] A Google User: nice nice |
[2013-05-11] A Google User: Please Fix "Reverb" Because of it's a folder based player I'm Using it from the very beginning but recently the "Reverb" option automatically disables itself. Please fix it. |
[2013-05-06] A Google User: Horrible update! 7/10/12 Was great ap for 2+ years, but update sucks |
[2013-05-06] A Google User: Good |
[2013-05-05] A Google User: excellent I have tryed all popular players. This is the best player for android |
[2013-05-03] A Google User: Finally Finally found a music player where I control which folder I play from. I don't want to hear my alarm sounds and my meeting recordings when I play music!!!! Thank you for a great app!!!! |
[2013-05-01] A Google User: Confusing Interface I used to think this app was the only app that could play tracks in the correct order (by MP3 tag). I later discovered that it was actually ignoring the "disc #" tag, and all the other music players were doing it correctly. That, combined with a confusing interface and lack of playlist support led me to switch to another app. |
[2013-05-01] A Google User: Sadly developer has lost sight of original aim I’ve been using Mort since it first came out and it is a first rate MP3 player but the interface is getting too cluttered now. Originally the developer set out to provide a no fuss MP3 player for people who knew how to organise their files into folders. Sadly, he has lost sight of that simplicity. I would also much rather that it did not automatically run at start up, or at least allow me to control if I wanted it to automatically run at start up. It used to be 4/5 now it’s only 3/5. |
[2013-04-30] A Google User: Excellent Coming from windows mobile, Mort player was a main stay. Glad to see it on android. |
[2013-04-30] A Google User: Better than stock This the best player in the android market! |
[2013-04-30] A Google User: ok.. latest update takes a bit of figuring out re navigation but seems ok once used to new features. Previous versions didnt allow incoming calls to overide app, hope this is now fixed, wont know until call comes in though! |
[2013-04-28] A Google User: Love it! |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: Huh |
[2013-04-24] A Google User: crashes Love this player but hate that it randomly turns off! |
[2013-04-20] A Google User: Nice A really simple and functional player. The best! |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Love It! Folder navigation! - I do want to request that you build a Wi-Fi sync module for PC or linux so i can completely kick my manual methods. Winamp sync SUCKS because it fricks up all my folder structure, i end up having to use an ftp file manager which is very manual. Your a great developer and id love to see your take on the WIFI sync! |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Looks slick after last update But I would like to see more of the audiobookplayer features included so I could use this app for everything, music, podcasts & audiobooks. Also screen rotates if rotation is turned off in system settings. Fix please. |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Best player No critique! |
[2013-04-16] A Google User: Perfect Soo sweet, this is what I'm searching for soo Long, thanks u very very very very very very very much for this app. It has everything I needed |

[2013-04-16] A Google User: The best... |
[2013-04-16] A Google User: Worthless Only got it for .m4a's and it won't play them. Interface is awful and confusing. |
[2013-04-15] A Google User: Don't like it cannot read my m3u playlist! |
[2013-04-15] A Google User: Awesome Goooooooood music |
[2013-04-11] A Google User: Perfect No complications Folder wise selection Nice widget Exit button Stand by mode |
[2013-04-11] A Google User: Alot simpler to use than other music apps I like this music app/ player because it is alot simpler to use than other music apps , but for some reason when it reads all the folders on startup it lists videos ( which it can't play so I don't why it lists them ) and some of my downloaded ringtones / alerts hence it makes it slower to start up as it reads the folders, But it's still five stars i just wish it didn't read the folders everytime I start the app , thank-you Mirko for a great music player which is now the only one I use on my phone :) |
[2013-04-11] A Google User: Ok Good |
[2013-04-10] A Google User: Ok |
[2013-04-10] A Google User: Best mp3 player, on market. Compared to tiny player, mortplayer finds your mp3's for you atomaticly without having to spend hours, hours. Pick&play |
