[2013-01-08] A Google User: Not as good as iOS app iOS app can cache songs locally so they can be listened to without downloading every time. This is a must have and must not be that hard to implement... Do it Synology! |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Nexus 7 DS212j Works really well both on lan and www |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Works pretty well Does the job. Coming from subsonic, I miss a few features like pre-download, and ability to easily navigate to player and queue without going via menu. Minor gripes aside, the app works well |
[2013-01-06] A Google User: Why does a review need a title? Poor UI when used on N7 tablet. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: missing features from ios version this app has potential to be great. but with no offline caching at all plus no way of getting the nas to play to an airplay speaker, it definately needs sone work. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Wma files? Does not play Wma files. No use to me as all my music is on Wma format.... |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: Painfully slow Really takes forever to list tracks. Forget playing them. |
[2012-12-31] A Google User: Tablet interface needs work I really like this app, however, as the title suggests the tablet interface needs work. There just seems to be so much space wasted. I can actually find what I am looking for easier on my Desire S then my Nexus 7. You could Give us an option to alter column sizes. |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Galaxy s2 play back problems So i can log into the app with or problems from my network or 3g/4g. Unfortunately, songs will only play on wifi. There is a forum discussing this and there seems to be no fix. Fail... |
[2012-12-24] A Google User: So many things need improvement! Artists need to be sorted without the "the" / gap between the songs is far too long / scrolling is a pita / No possibility to choose between "album artist" and "artist" / rather instable |
[2012-12-21] A Google User: No crossfade makes the app useless Unfortunately there is no crossfade option, very choppy to listen to music with so much gapping between songs. Makes this app useless as a music player. |
[2012-12-19] A Google User: Works well Good performance and easy to use once set up |
[2012-12-16] A Google User: Works well with some hiccups One reason I buy and recommend sinology products is because their continues drive to improve their products all the time. I am durr this asp will continue to improve. Keep up the good work. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: This is a Beta Frequent crashes and awful playlist handling |
[2012-12-14] A Google User: Good but needs work As we all know that Synology is hell bent on cajoling the apple users, so android is not their priority. And it shows in this app. This app has come a long way from two years prior but the iOS apps are so much more polished. They simply don't spend time on Android app development. It's almost as if this is an after thought. Also it's been months since they released video app for iOS, but no love for Android. It's surprising since Android occupies nearly 70% of smart phone and tablet market. |
[2012-12-13] A Google User: very good app, better than nothing locally - I don't care about that http non secured. Externally I use ssh tunnel with the port 5000 forwarded. So I simply connect to localhost:5000 and I am fine. The app still needs improvement. I hope the devs know their priorities. I can listen to music, so that's pretty enough for me. no crashes so far or annoying bugs. I'll post suggestions on Synology forums. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Offline tracks?????? Just moved from iPhone to andriod, where is the ability to save tracks for offline use???? Come on Synology! |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Vastly improved in recent months |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Synology Works great |
[2012-11-27] A Google User: Very good Really good for music on the go! |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Needs some work, but it is better than nothing... The most annoying thing is that if you disconnect the headphones the app keeps on playing music, which could lead you some awkward situations at work. The user should be able to choose what happens. Also no https support. It would also be nice if it supported a wildcard in search. |
[2012-11-19] A Google User: Just works Wicked app |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: wma Good |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Pratique simple nickel |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Needs work Music should shut off when headphones are unplugged, note stuck in notification area when you back out, doesn't cache login, doesn't cache audio files ... It's no Subsonic, thats for sure... |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Fails to play over 4G Works fine when inside the my network via WIFI but fails to play all files when using 4G and logging in via https which is very insecure. |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Great useful app Does exactly what I want it to do. Thanks synology. Would be useful if the app remember your last settings, ie as I always use folder view would be good if it remembered that and on open view this first. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Missing remote renderer control Works nice, but misses control to stream music to a remote UpNP renderer (like party streaming to control my stereo HiFi installation). Seems Apple iOs version supports this, but not Android? |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Tablet UI is poor but I can play tunes through my stereo! The tablet UI is pretty poor; it's hard to browse your library if it's large. However it does what no other app does and I use it a lot. I just wish it were easier to use. Phone UI is much better and easier to use. Often starts by itself when a change in Bluetooth connection happens (e.g. a phone call disconnect) which is annoying. |
[2012-10-14] A Google User: Could do better. Update. Can you please add the ability for the music in this app to the pause when google navigation is giving spoken directions. Very hard to hear directions when music is playing at the same time. Also can you add the ability to load the next song on a playlist before the playing track has ended. |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: Nice interface Run smoothly. Good sounding, but hope can improve |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: No HTTPS support on newest version I have downgraded to version 2.0- 082 as every update after this version has removed HTTPS login. This seem to only affect DS audio as photo station and file station both support HTTPS with the latest release. Please fix HTTPS login |
[2012-10-08] A Google User: needs work, but improving slowly Synology is hell bent focuzed in the ios world. their website almost never mentions Android, its all about iPad/iPhone and DiskStation... That said, Android has a larger user base and does get somattention, hence this app... (though video and download will come much later than ios) so, the audio app... it needs https, needs better caching, needs some better controls. Its come a long way from the initial version, but I still find it painfully slow between tracks if im away from home. |
[2012-10-08] A Google User: Almost perfect now... Much better in recent months. Needs a few features: add access to the Player and Queue from top menu, so it can be swiped to get to it. Local music files access. |
[2012-10-08] A Google User: Good app, needs to be able to do more. Not able to edit songs and playlists. Not able to rate songs, etc. Everything that I am able to do through my MusicStation, I should be able to do through this app. I understand it's a work in progress, and the app has been getting better. |
[2012-10-08] A Google User: Won't log with network players This version (08/10/2012) doesn't work on my Sony Experia Pro and Syno 410. It logs in for a second and prompts me to choose between playing on my phone or my Linn DS. Then before I can answer it says connection lost, please log in again. I downgraded to version 2.0 and that works. Others cannot downgrade unless they happened to back up version 2.0 of the app. |
[2012-10-03] A Google User: It works but... Too many standard audio player features missing. |
[2012-09-29] A Google User: Awesome Great app, the update makes it even better. As a free app to my nas it's unbeatable! All my music always with me! Maybe some more settings would be great, like bigger buffer size. When in a train and going through a tunnel it sometimes stops. A bigger buffer would easily solve that. |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Good, good, Good! Very nice, love it. |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Great but... ...Please add cache functionality as on the iPhone! Pur-lease! |
[2012-09-24] A Google User: Playlist never work Add the song or playlist download option to listen offline. Not able to add songs to playlists. Playlist option do not work in disk station also. |
[2012-09-11] A Google User: soso where is ds video and ds download for android ? |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Improved but unstable Great that it now supports https. And great that you can now play flac. Unfortunately, Synology apps have become unstable. Galaxy S3. |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Great once it loads As previous reviewers have noted this app often exits with a "connection failed" error on startup, and a way round it is to swipe left or right whilst loading. Once the app is up and running it's very good; however, something I would suggest to synology to introduce would be buffering of the next song in the playlist once the current one is fully loaded (making gapless playback possible). |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Works, when it doesn't crash It's a nice little app for owners of a Synology box. It streams music nicely, including all the features you can expect from a music app. But it frequently crashes. Until a stabler version appears, it's a 3-star for this one. |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Don't like the new UI I don't like the new UI. I preferred the previous version with buttons on the initial screen (quick shortcut to playlists). Now, I have to scroll horizontally to get to playlists tab (and my favourite "random 100"). Also, the first version of the new UI changed the behavior of appending songs to queue. It was pretty annoying. Fortunately, the subsequent update restored the original behaviour (it's configurable option now). There is also a problem with sudden crashes (if the app is closed, it still runs in the background, and sometimes crashes when starting another app). |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Trash Android app This is the 3rd firmware version on my Synology DS110J, none of which can play any mp3 files on my 7 inch tablet. Version 4.1 which just came out and still get the error "failed to play the file" error even though they play on my wife's iPhone, in my car, even using the DSAudio website directly on my NAS - it is this junk Android app even though supprot thinks it's my mp3 files, and even though there are dozens of other similar error posts. FIX THIS Synology - get some real mobile developers. It gets a 1(one) since it plays 0(zero) songs. |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Excellent Très bon logiciel, pourrait etre amélioré avec par exemple une gestion plus poussé de l'apparence, un controle du volume tactile serait un plus egalement.. |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Badly needs HTTPS Works just fine but there is absolutely no excuse for transmitting passwords in plain text in today's security environment. 5 stars otherwise. |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Great app..... Pause button doesn't work on Asus transformer and the volume control should be incremental not a slider apart from that... great |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Great software for Synology Diskstations. Excellent and very useful software! Thanks Synology! |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: I like DS Audio Pretty cool and useful. |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Keep the updates coming! Keeps getting better. Pleased to see active development. |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: SSL! Finally! Thank you for finally including SSL support. This app is finally useful. Now if I can only get it to stop dropping the connection... |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Great App Great App but does not work with Samsung Galaxy 4G Sprint Update: App works but is a tad slow |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Godt program |
[2012-08-31] A Google User: Great APP Realy complete & easy to use. I prefer it over music station (mainly because it displays the full list of artists etc and not just 100 or so at the time). I'd say better than many dedicated programs on mediaplayers. |
[2012-08-28] A Google User: ... After the ui update (which is very welcome), as said earlier the notifcation is broken and if you dont activelly kill the proces you will get an error later on.. it is actually also hard to hit the home button and player button.. i hit precise but always have to try a few times to succed.. the app is broken im afraid, fix asap synology please! Or go back to old ui, that at least worked as it should! |
[2012-08-28] A Google User: Could be better Lost one star as app does not support gapless playing of tracks, so no good for many classical works. |
[2012-08-24] A Google User: Great app Got my music anywhere |
[2012-08-23] A Google User: Better than it was Needs gapless playback and needs to be more reliable on 3G. Also, tested the iPad app yesterday, they have song caching. Where is that option for us??? |
[2012-08-21] A Google User: Out of memory? The app exits with the message 'Connection failed. Please login and try again.'. If I swipe to Folder during load, it loads normally. On other tabs it force closes, the error report reads something like java.lang out of memory. I have stored tons of music on my device. Could this be the issue? Didn't have any issues with the previous version. Now this issue is with my phone SE Experia and my tab Archos 101. No issues when using Disk Station. |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: Love the app Used it to play on my Sony tablet. Search files can display more details of the file e.g. Folder. Playlist cannot edit and save again. |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: Bad-Average Don't like it very much since it closes without using it at all! |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: Was good, not anymore ... New version is very confusing. Player is not accessible, u need to select a playlist or something first. And it is waaaay slower than the previous version. Disappointing from the syno developers. Please get back to simple usable layout |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Nice Not much to say...wish it would exit without having to log out, but this is great. Synology have a fantastic product set and sincerely listen to their customers. You can't ask for more than that. |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Great audio app for Synology but missing iOS feature Great audio app for the wonderful Synology line of DiskStations, It's a shame that the iOS version comes with a configurable cache and this doesn't. Fix that and the review goes to 5 stars. |
[2012-08-11] A Google User: Great overall, but one glaring fault The is app is great overall, but it has two major shortcomings. The first is that it cannot download songs for offline use, the second is that its play queue is limited to 1024 items. This makes it useless for playing my large playlists and this limitation does not exist in the iOS version. |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Great but some constructive feedback... Love this app, and Synology in general. Can set up a playlist and click play before I drive on a long journey. Means I can listen to any of my music and not worry about storage. :-) couple of issues, had to kill app as it kept playing music after exit and if connection drops before track is fully loaded, it gets to that point and then starts from the beginning when the connection is restored. I don't frequently experience these, so still 5* :-) |
[2012-08-01] A Google User: Not for Scroll Extreme ics Works great on my HTC but sadly not on the Scroll tablet. Frustrating and dissappointing. |
[2012-08-01] A Google User: iOS version is better Needs offline mode like the iOS version. Also the buffering is not as smooth either |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Love the new design. |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Awesome! Makes streaming to my Samsung SII simple....love it :) |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: DS Audio Nice app, works very smoothly. Some minor bugs... |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: Much nicer than ios version After recent major update this player looks and works relly fantastic. Keep doing fantastic work guys! |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: No SSL for phones Latest update lacks SSL on my phone but has it on my tablet... Also, needs ability to cache... songs cut off halfway on both devices. |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: Good updates. |
[2012-07-28] A Google User: Used to be good Used to be a great app before the latest UI change. Now the app will stay active unless you actively kill it. When you choose to exit the app it will remain giving notifications when playing through USB player. Tapping on these notifications will not open the app and are not able to be cleared. In the app itself (usb mode) the player can't be opened if nothing is being played, you have to start from queue, without knowing where you left off when you stopped the music. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Looking good Looks great and works well. Just what I wanted. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Love It This is great. I can listen to anything from my NAS drive anywhere in the world. Fantastic |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Still not working over ssl on sprint sprint SGSII. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Great but some Experiencing frequent gaps of short silences in streaming mode on my SGS (Froyo stock) for some mp3's (not all) since recent major update; buffering issue??? Used to work fine before. Btw crashing fixed since last minor upgrade! |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Works Works perfect so far. Took a few minutes to figure out where random play was located |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Crashes a lot I'm using this on HTC evo lte and every time the phone goes to sleep and then I wake up the phone while the music is streaming the application crashes. |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Great! Only misses offline mode Great app, no issues/bug. Synology has an awesome app. What is missing is just the feature of offline mode. That way I could download my musics and listen to them when I dont have internet connection. |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Jellybean Crashing a lot on android 4.1.1 |
[2012-07-22] A Google User: JL Please implement the music download feature just like the iOS version! |
[2012-07-21] A Google User: Don't work It doesn't start on ds212+. Now is starting but it crashes often. I increased the rating from 1 to 3 stars |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Awesome! This makes the DiskStation that much better. It would be good to be able to scroll through your Artists (I have many thousands) as flicking repeatedly takes way too long to get to the lower parts of a list. Quick, simple and well-designed apart from that. Love it! |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Very buggy New version is a great improvement with a look and feel however it is still very buggy. It crashes very often or locks up and becomes unresponsive |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Nice! Verry nice the new GUI but ive got several crashes when adding new songs to queue. Super speed! |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Works fine except for HTTPS Everythings there, but unfortunately HTTPS does not seem to work... |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Love the new ui! |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Overall very good, but a few bugs 3G, 4G, and wifi all working for me. The new UI is nice but this version seems to have more bugs then the previous version. If I run the app in streaming mode, and then someone at home uses the NAS to play music via USB speaker, my phone shows me what songs they are playing. Playing via USB speaker, it occasionally stops in between tracks and needs someone to push "play" to get it to continue on with the playlist. Overall I'm very happy with it though. |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Sweet App for private server Pretty cool app. Nice to be able to stream from my Synology. SSL would be welcome. I had to forward port 5000 to get this working. |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Ssl enabled but still useless. Finally https, but wont play in https unless you enable webdav non ssl. Https now. However songs only play on http. When playing in https no sound happens only black screen then it crashes every time. Galaxy s3. Come on synology get this tested before you release garbage. Why does it only stream music over ssl when webdav non ssl is enabled. This is still useless if you have to enable the non ssl webdav and forward that port... still no ssl.... synology you have still failed here. |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Not working App automatically stops working. |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Cache album art thumbnails Great improvement in user interface. But if the app can cache the album art thumbnails that will be great. Because every time when I try to search through album, the app needs to download the album art again. |
[2012-07-13] A Google User: Out of scale The latest version creates out of scale main screen on Samsung Galaxy Tab. SE Ray is ok. |
