Droidsound (v. 1.4.2) Разработано Swimsuit Boys |
Droidsound is a music player that plays many retro formats, including SID (C64), MOD (Amiga), XM/S3M (PC) NSF/NSFE (Nintendo), SPC/RSN (SNES), PSF (Playstation) and GSF (Gameboy Advance).
It also plays regular MP3s, streams shoutcast, creates ringtones.

[2012-12-25] A Google User: Great but needs file system browser If only this app let me browse folders on my sdcard hierarchially to select tracks instead of thinking it can interpret my music collection based on tags (tags which my chiptune files don't have anyway!) then it would become not only my chiptune player but my only music app. Really really needs that obvious frature to stop being dependent on third party file managers and then it would ttly 5 star pwn. |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Excellent despite some irregularities Works like a charm most of the times. I have only two complaints so far. First, RSN files (RAR-ed SPC files) are being played in reversed order on Android 2.3; when running on Android 4.x on the same phone, the songs get played in the proper order. Second, the program regularly freezes (sometimes along with the phone) when quickly cycling through PSF files. Despite these irregularities, this app manages to enjoy me on a daily basis. |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Great! I found out, that my device is capable of emulating ST, so i bought Stoid... then i found out, that i mostly use it to play menu music from Count Zero and MadMax game music, so i searched for sc68 player and found Droidsound. Now i can listen all day without emulating full ST :-D |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: This one looks better but could you add one thing I like the way this one looks. It also has more features than another psf player (which is what I'm looking for). I just wonder if it's possible to add psf2 file format support like the other psf player did. It would make this app perfect for me. Also, some psfs are not playing (for me, Legend of Dragoon crashed the app). A fix would be good. |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Great Perfect sgs2.the only problem is on joy845 sid playback lags. |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Sid rulez True.Low performance on joy845. |
[2012-10-30] A Google User: Missing USF playback I love this app. It works perfect for most chiptunes. 5 stars when/if 3 things are fixed or working: playstation chiptunes, gba chips, and N64 USF playback (please). Until then, I can only give 4 stars. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Works ...but is either very inaccurate or missing a chip emulator for some VGM files. Uninstalled in favor of Modo. Modo's interface sucks but at least it sounds good. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Great app Awesome :-) Plays most Amiga music files. |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Love that vgz support was added again! This app is totally worth the download!! |
[2012-10-16] A Google User: Awesome reproduction Had a great trip down memory lane replaying all my MODs / XMs. DroidSound reproduces them all perfectly. Kudos. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Modland not working :( I can't seem to connect to Modland on either my S3 or Nexus 7. I know the server isn't down as Modizer on iOS is working on Modland fine. Used to work on my Nexus 7. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Beautiful program I do wish there were playlist capabilities for snes rsn and nsf so i dont have to go through tracks. But it works like a charm. Best app for all chiplovers. |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: awesome needs support for ssf & usf for 5 stars! |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Unbelievably bad file browser ! This just has the most stupid file browser in history! It reads tags from my mp3 files and lists some of them as folders (!) it even shows the year from the song. But it gets better: It doesn't even support mp3 playback!! So why read their tags in the 1st place?? (not) funny enough, it didn't read my mods folder (or perhaps it did but I couldn't find it among thousands of listed mp3, and I used the search). It never felt so good uninstalling an app. Good ridance! :( |
[2012-09-25] A Google User: Not bad, but can be better Pros: -Great music quality. -Support for multitasking music and using other apps. -Easy-to-use for playing music. Cons: -ZIP files may sometimes fail to load, while other times succeed for no explained reason. -Lacking support for USF (N64) and 2SF (DS) music files. -Occasionally while playing long PSF tracks, the music stops and the program refuses to play any more music until the app is restarted. -Lack of support for fade-outs. -Easier way to add music, including loading whole directories. The auto-detect doesn't scan SD cards. |
[2012-09-23] A Google User: Does not loop Does not loop mods, so whats the point. |
[2012-09-16] A Google User: MODLAND DONT KNOW IF THE SERVER IS DOWN OR WHAT OR ITS JUST MY PHONE MODS NOT LISTING. |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: More GME Plays most all formats. Except some expansion chips for the NSF container do not yet work: 2C33 (FDS), MMC5, Sunsoft 5B (FME7), Konami VRC7. Please add these! |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: Good Properly played files that other players had a problem with. Not 5 stars because it doesn't seem to have an option to loop. |
[2012-09-13] A Google User: useless on a nexus 7 There is no functionality to BROWSE FOLDERS for files. The program assumes you will be able to locate and copy files to it own undocumented directory. The sample files do work, so it would theoretically play other music files. |
[2012-09-12] A Google User: Plays music In older versions it was possible to override song length and loop forever. Doesn't seem to be possible in new versions... bring that feature back plz! |
[2012-09-12] A Google User: issues Some problems have come with the most recent versions, some feats have been cut and some VGM files now crash the soundroid where in olderversions they worked just fine. |
[2012-09-11] A Google User: Awesome music player for MODs and game music! Love it, plays the most common mod formats with high quality and most of video game music formats out there! |
[2012-09-11] A Google User: Great This is the best video game music player. |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: Great! Only nags seem too be lack of sample interpolation on mods and sometimes the lock screen controls disappear. |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: Superior reproduction of sound Great! Only thing missing is the ability to navigate to previous directory without using the back button. Also, would like the ability to quickly shuffle through the entire device's music (mp3 included). |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Great multi-format player. Great app, but could use improvements in the NSF functionality (VRC7 and MMC5 audio expansions). |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Truly a neat and good app Am able to hear blasts from the past. |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Great! I really appreciate this fine app! The only things I'm missing are: * There's no way to automatically repeat a tune or subtune. * DroidSound should be able to list the subtunes on the player-tab, so one can select subtunes directly, instead of memorizing the subtunes position and manually skipping forward 30 songs to ones favourite tune... I have a lot of SNES tunes and would really like to be able to pick one subtune fast and repeat it for a while. I'm really looking forward to how this app is going to evolve :-) Cheers, Patrick |
[2012-08-29] A Google User: Would be perfect if it supported VGM format! I love this app, but it needs support for VGM (Sega Master System/Genesis) files. If it supported VGM files, I would not need to turn anywhere else! GYM is inaccurate and sucks compared to VGM for Genesis/Megadrive music. |
[2012-08-22] A Google User: Needs network Needs a network connection the first time you run it, otherwise force closes. Good player nonetheless! |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Lots of FC's The app crashes when I try to run Amiga music. PSF playback could be optimized as well. There is also a delay between changing songs. Very disappointing update. Swiping's quite nice, though. |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: Best chipmusik player I've found! |
[2012-08-04] A Google User: Best app on my phone Must have app for anyone who likes the old game music. |
[2012-07-31] A Google User: Bug? Don't know why, but the app intercepts downloads from Google chrome on android jelly bean. Annoying. |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Amazing app! As far as I know from firsthand experience, it can play VRC6 and many other Famicom modules/ chipsets. It would be great if there was a looping option. (If there is, I apologize) And a MUST HAVE feature I very strongly recommend is to allow channel toggles for the famicom and the other emulated hardware. Please keep this app up and keep up the good work, dev! |
[2012-07-23] A Google User: Much improved The new interface is much clearer and PSF and GSF support is a large increase in functionality. Of course more formats could be supported, but this program is good. Unfortunately it also crashes often requiring a force quit. |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Lol Psx not psf |
[2012-07-19] A Google User: Nice UI update Much better UI with the swipe left and right in 1.4, also plays most chip tunes in my collection, keep up the great work you are doing. |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: in short get it. if you listen to chiptunes this is the player for you. handles tunes in most of the popular formats with ease. |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Awesome, and now even better. Good UI update, much more comfortable to use |
[2012-07-15] A Google User: Great app! This is one of my favorite apps! Very thankful for support of PSF and GSF, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to support the mini- versions. USF support would be nice. |
[2012-07-14] A Google User: awesome! just the best mod player. |
[2012-07-14] A Google User: Wonderful to see this is still active. Brilliant but v1.4. Breaks SID panning(Vice). Please fix, I'm begging you, by all that is sacred, please! :) |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: v1.3 breaks Megadrive support Sadly v1.3 breaks support for Megadrive music for me (Xperia Play). Otherwise an excellent app. |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: Best chiptunes player on Android Psf and gsf is icing on the cake. Love this app. |
[2012-07-07] A Google User: Coolest app ever. I've had this app pretty much since the beginning of Android and it keeps getting better! PSF support was the only missing piece, and now it's there! You guys rock! |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Now with psf! Great, psf support, exactly what i wanted. Now just make the ui more ics like (actionbar) and it'll be perfect :-) |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Love it The app is fantastic! Please consider adding support for madtracker 2 files. |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Wasnt expecting PSF o.o PSF support! Color me impressed by your dev work. I was under the impression that PSF can be extremely hard to integrate into an application |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Needs more work. Great to see PSF support at last! But still needs work. Needs the option to loop a song endlessly. What is Cont/Hold?? Hope to see PSF2/NSF/2SF support soon! |
[2012-07-06] A Google User: Good... Needs more options! Remember...? I guess I can give you more time. Regardless, great job. |
[2012-07-02] A Google User: Tried deadbeef and modo which both ain't perfect and sometimes annoy me... But this one is the best by a long way.... |
[2012-07-01] A Google User: The best mobile chiptuneplayer ive seen so far |
[2012-06-30] A Google User: excellent app! best in class. long live galway, rob, thomas detert, laxity and future freak! |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: Good while it lasted. Used to work, but not anymore. On sidekick 4G |
[2012-06-19] A Google User: I found this by accident. One mistap and BAM! I find one of the best apps I've ever used. I have nothing to say because I'm speechless. Bravo. |
[2012-06-11] A Google User: Love this app The best modules player on Android |
[2012-06-03] A Google User: Shut up and take my money! As an old C64-scener, I find this to be one of the coolest Android apps. And the GUI has that magical retro feeling! But a donate version or button is needed, (not for extra features) unless the devs are rich spoiled brats. :) there aren't that many users, but I think enough for the devs to make a few k each. |
[2012-06-03] A Google User: Cool Good app but.. No fast forward? Doesn't show all instrument info in module formats. Keep up the nice work. Oh, did I mention this program badly needs a fast foward function ;) |
[2012-06-02] A Google User: Amazing update. Great work. |
[2012-06-02] A Google User: Thanks for update Amazing :)just gets better and better. Widget next please :) |
[2012-06-01] A Google User: 5 stars, but with suggestions. First off, thanks for FINALLY getting out of the "1.2 beta #" phase and releasing 1.3, which works with ModLand FLAWLESSLY! Now, my suggestions; 1 - optional infinite play mode (Ignore timers if song has loops and/or until Next is pressed) 2 - The VGM portion of GME needs updating, now that arcade games, AdLib, Game Boy, MegaCD, MSX, Neo-Geo (Pocket), NES, PC Engine, Super32X, and more can be played through VGM. 3 - Please, please, PLEASE update the Droidsound Webpage to acknowledge the 1.3 release! XD |
[2012-06-01] A Google User: The Best Great sound, easy to use, that's all you need |
[2012-05-03] A Google User: Jelle Excellent. Took a while to find the subsong controls though. Love it excellent player! |
[2012-04-29] A Google User: Very nice but... Wish there was support for ps1 and n64 music formats |
[2012-04-21] A Google User: Works like a charm I got started on SID Player, then I found this app. What a great app to listen to all the classic gaming tunes I grew up with. Ahh the sounds of Commando on C64, Zelda on NES, Worth the download! |
[2012-04-17] A Google User: great app great music... but can we have the grey music note icon instead of the green one great app great music!! I am a sega genesis fan and i love the way this app plays my fav tunes! its awesome to drive down the street listening to streets of rage!!! PLEASE can we have the grey music note icon shown in the marketplace rather than the of the green one the app actually uses? THANKS!!! |
[2012-03-29] A Google User: updates anyone looking for updates can find beta versions that need testing on their website. gogogo! |
[2012-03-15] A Google User: Genesis emulation is far from perfect but thanks for puttimg in the time and effort to make this. |
[2012-03-08] A Google User: Plays the files you want Work on the interface! |
[2012-03-08] A Google User: great! Hope psf gets included too, design could be upgraded a bit and headset button controller app doesnt recognise it as a music player |
[2012-03-04] A Google User: Awesome |
[2012-02-12] A Google User: Wow.... Totally amazing app...hope dev keep up the great work. |

[2012-02-04] A Google User: Great |
[2012-01-29] A Google User: Hung on mine too Large library. on captivate with 2.3.5 -- I had to remove some files and then it processed all without crashing. Otherwise this is the best player of the bunch, and most user-friendly |
[2012-01-25] A Google User: Excellent I installed the HVSC pack and it took a while to recognise all files. My phone thought it had hung. Maybe later editions can have an update progress bar for large libraries. Maybe also allow different SID filter profiles too but great work. |
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Thanks Plays all I though at it.. using sidplay2 not fp but can live with that |
[2011-11-28] A Google User: Slows to a crawl when screen is locked. |
[2011-11-21] A Google User: Good Fails to play all instruments in my Seiken Densetsu 3 spc. Otherwise good. |
[2011-11-20] A Google User: Brilliant player, would like to see other formats support as well! |
[2011-11-06] A Google User: Savage! Defaults to Savage subtune 3? Incredible! |
[2011-10-21] A Google User: Love it This program is the best I've found for playing alot of types of module music |
[2011-09-28] A Google User: Great |
[2011-09-10] A Google User: Good app Awesome. Works good! Only thing I'm missing is to convert to mp3 or set as ringtone |
[2011-08-26] A Google User: This app is only getting 4 stars because I know it's going to cause me to get at least one speeding ticket. |
[2011-08-21] A Google User: A better sid player than "Sid Player" on app store. And it plays tons of other formats. Download while it's free, definitely worth paying for. |
[2011-08-18] A Google User: Only player I've found that plays all the formats I like, ui is a bit slow to get around but functional |
[2011-07-07] A Google User: Played EVERYTHING I've thrown at it... Spectrum, C64, Amstrad, ST, Amiga (inc. DW, TF and other Custom sets), Sega & Nintendo! Highly Recommended !!! |
[2011-06-24] A Google User: Sounds good but interface needs work No UMX support, and app crashes during scanning if it hits a file whose format it doesn't support. Playlist interface also doesn't support multi-level folder structures. No ability to seek within songs, even by pattern. |
[2011-06-16] A Google User: Great |
[2011-06-10] A Google User: Actually supports Delitracker plugins :) |
[2011-06-10] Angelworks: Actually supports Delitracker plugins :) |
[2011-05-21] NightSprinter: Great app, but does need updating for Gingerbread and Honeycomb. |
[2011-05-11] A Google User: Fantastic, just want this system to act as codec for phone so that I can have authentic sounding retro ringtones :-) fc on cm7 :( |
[2011-05-11] Craig: Fantastic, just want this system to act as codec for phone so that I can have authentic sounding retro ringtones :-) fc on cm7 :( |
[2011-04-30] A Google User: Can you add folders? Can't seem to make it find my music folder |
[2011-04-30] Eppiox: Can you add folders? Can't seem to make it find my music folder |
