[2013-08-17] A Google User: Does not work. Cannot acess setup. Very unintuitive app. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: No playlists supported Please add support for playlists. This is how I listen to predefined online streams with mpd. |
[2013-07-08] A Google User: Good app |
[2013-07-05] A Google User: Good, does the job. This application could use a little polishing, the flow is a bit confusing. The ability to search for a song or browse through the music is a little hidden and confusing. Other than those issues the interface is usable and the software works without any crashing or locking up. Too bad it seems like the developer has abandoned it. |
[2013-06-15] A Google User: Awesome job! I just set up the mpd yesterday and after trying several clients on my desktop/laptop systems (and there are many, but only a few still maintained) I ended up with gmpc. I wanted to give this app a try, too. It works perfectly. Only two things bothered me a little: It took me a while to discover that sliding the green dot at the bottom would reveal the volume control and the app is running in full screen, although it doesn't need all the space imho. Running on a Huawei Ascend P1. I'm willing to donate. ;) |
[2013-05-18] A Google User: Does the job and requires minimal permissions |
[2013-05-14] A Google User: Great Great app with good permissions! |
[2013-03-30] A Google User: Good app! Better features and usability than the other mpd player on the market... It need just some minimal "halo" android graphic touch. I like the volume knob: classy. |
[2013-03-09] A Google User: Google Nexus & Raspberry Pi - great My raspberry pi runs gpd using music from external USB. Output from stereo jack to surround sound system. Now I can control it all from my Google Nexus. This app is the icing on the cake. |
[2013-03-04] A Google User: great but too many button. too little |
[2013-02-16] A Google User: Currently the best android mpd player Too many button presses are required to edit the playlist, and tracks in the playlist cannot be rearranged. If this could be more like mPod on the iPhone it would be great. |
[2012-12-16] A Google User: Functional but not convenient Stable and functional. The good: volume control, output control. The bad: does not help you find the playing song in the play list (I have 20k tracks). Needs a scroll handle. Search would be nice for current play list . Supports only one mpd server. No way to get more details about track (bit rate, tags). I didn't see any stream support. Using on a droid x2 |
[2012-12-10] A Google User: So easy to control my music. This app works great on my SonyEricsson Xperia Ray. Makes controlling my music very easy. Agree that the UI could be made a little bit easier to use, but overall this is an excellent app which makes my life that little bit easier. |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: great app! no problems at all. what do you think about automatically turn down the volume on ringing? |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Awesome Picked up my linux server right away with 7000+ songs Highly recommended! Galaxy SII Skyrocket |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Good app Could do with support for multiple servers and an updated UI, otherwise all features are great |
[2012-09-10] A Google User: Great app Works out off the box on a HTC Inspire 4G |
[2012-08-16] A Google User: good mpd client I use this app to control mpd running on beaglebone. |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Runs perfect on the HTC Sensation XE. Please develop further. |
[2012-08-01] A Google User: Could improve GUI Prefer MPDroid but this is also good... |
[2012-07-28] A Google User: This is perfect. Desire Z. |
[2012-07-11] A Google User: Very nice and complete The app does exactly all you need as an MPD client, and being able to control music through the Smartphone can always be useful. One point I dislike is the slider that pops up and down to control the volume, it gets in the way. :) |
[2012-06-26] A Google User: Great, but doesn't sort album tracks properly All the songs in my library are stored as {title}.{extension}. As in, without the track number in the file name. All the players I've used, including mpd with Ario, handle this fine. However, when I view an album with Droid MPD Client, it sorts the songs by title, rather than by the track number stored in the tag. The temporary fix would be to retag all my music, but I feel Droid MPD Client should just sort via the track number in the tags, like clients such as Ario. |
[2012-06-24] A Google User: Needs Landscape Mode Admittedly this searches better than MPDroid, but on large screens with landscape, it makes me cringe enough to use the other app instead. Add a high resolution landscape mode, and this will be the one. |
[2012-06-13] A Google User: The best option on Android Seeing as how MPDroid has some dealbreakers, this is the best option, though it does have easily-fixable flaws. The lack of an albums page for each artist is unfortunate (all songs you have by the artist are listed instead), and the tracks in multi-disc albums cannot be sorted by disk. Fortunately, the rest of the app is killer. The coding is rock-solid, and can readily handle large libraries with several hundreds of albums. The interface is clean, and the app itself is very stable. |
[2012-06-03] A Google User: Great on Samsung galaxy note Works great. Great mpd client. |
[2012-05-31] A Google User: Love it, works perfect!! |
[2012-04-30] A Google User: Awesome! Just what I was looking for! |
[2012-04-28] A Google User: Needs playlistism folder support. This works pretty well, bit lacks support for the playlists you can define on the server. I have several internet radio streams defined on playlists, bit have to go to a desktop client to select them. |
[2012-04-27] A Google User: Works well on Razor Maxx Thanks for a great app! I enjoy using it. Would like to have the option for multiple servers. |
[2012-04-11] A Google User: simplify the operation very good app. compare to typing command it is very easy to use. |
[2012-04-07] A Google User: Hangs on updating database |
[2012-04-04] A Google User: The best of the bunch It's the best mpd app for Android but lack a lot of basic features. One that I really miss is the ability to follow the current song playing in the playing list like you have in the Linux ncmpc program. A GUI overhaul to the new ICS theme would be a welcome sight. |
[2012-02-17] A Google User: Great app While you have to have the server running somewhere. The combination is awesome. |
[2012-02-02] A Google User: Works great Looks nicer than a lot of mpd clients, and works well. |
[2012-02-01] A Google User: Excellent MPD client Playlist section seems awkward but it does on every mpd client not just on android. Would be nice to see an intelligent way round that awkwardness |
[2012-01-31] A Google User: Great!! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for for my Linux box. Works great, very simple to set up, and feature-full. |
[2012-01-31] A Google User: Must have!!! Must have for all who use MPD! |
[2012-01-12] A Google User: Crash when switch artist ... X10 mini |
[2012-01-08] A Google User: Good app Needs some UI improvements: 1. "Tabs" at they bottom of the playlist manager shouldn't be scrollable, I think. 2. We really need an ability to add items on a long tap along with "add all" button. That'll be helpful on the Folder tab. Overall it's a good app. Keep pushing, guys, we really appreciate it. (: Thanks. |
[2012-01-07] A Google User: Good Works as expected, but could do with some improvements. I especially miss a scrolling song/artist title when the name is too long (also in folder view), and while the volume knob looks nifty, I'd prefer a slider like in MPDroid. On LG P500 with Cyanogenmod |
[2011-12-31] A Google User: Pretty rad! A couple of weird behaviours. Crashes occasionally when a second Android device is modifying the MPD server volume. |
[2011-12-30] A Google User: Great little mpd app Works perfectly on Samsung Galaxy S II updated stock ROM (Android 2.3.6). |
[2011-12-22] A Google User: Works well, mostly I like the playlist handling in this better than in MPDroid. My only real gripe with it is that it doesn't work properly in landscape -- when started in landscape, it switches to portrait, but the layout is messed up. |
[2011-12-19] A Google User: Galaxy Nexus not supported The app was great on Gingerbread, but it refuses to support Ice Cream Sandwich. As far as I can tell, the author brokenly assumes that anything post-Gingerbread is a tablet, but the tablet version (Droid MPD Client HD Free) is completely unusable on the Galaxy Nexus. Looks like I have to switch to MPDroid. |
[2011-12-19] A Google User: Program is amazing, but i cant hear any audio, te playlist works perfect. Android 2.2 on Samsung GTI5500L |
[2011-12-10] A Google User: Great Works on S5660 like a charm! Great application, full mpd control! thanks! |

[2011-10-21] A Google User: Great! This saved me a lot of money as was just gonna get a squeezebox duet, but with this and an mpd server on my popcorn hour I'm sorted. Phone: Nexus One |

[2011-07-26] A Google User: Nice, but buggy It started consuming 100% CPU when when left running in the background and I'd moved out of range of the MPD server. HTC Desire. |

[2011-05-02] A Google User: Playlist titles are wrong when tracks are added. Albums are not listed separately under artists. There are better mpd clients avaulable |

[2011-04-26] A Google User: Works, but MPDroid has a better interface and is better at navigating library and managing playlists. |

[2011-03-13] A Google User: Does what it claims without excessive permissions. Could handle huge collections more nicely (like dialer). Otherwise works fine on N1. |

[2011-02-02] A Google User: Buggy and with questionable UI choices Very small control buttons placed too close to softkeys. Not a fan of the circular volume knob, either -- a tight circle is too hard to trace with a thumb (there's room for a bigger circle which might help). Seems unable to connect to hostnames requiring a DNS search (as compared to a FQDN). |
