Just a few thoughts... Works great, but I do agree with the July 21st comment that adding a few lines to the instructions about which ports to forward (and why, just maybe) would be a great help. A definite step above the SSH remote I had been using.

Great As others have stated can only play library if "all artists" are selected on the computer. This severely handicaps the remote. Need search and playlist added.

Good app, problems with firewall It's an awesome app, but it has problems with a firewall even if the port is open. Is the app trying to connect to a different port? Because if I disable the firewall just to be able to connect and the re-enable the firewall, the app stays connected and works properly, instead of disconnecting because of the firewall being on. It would also be great if I could see the playlists and that the sync would happen automatically. Maybe using rsync so I don't have to manually sync the database everytime I add a song.

Was great when it worked Suddenly broken. Can't sync, database file is corrupt and even uninstalling it won't work. Completely useless now.

Great app (firewall help) Love the app, but had some initial troubles getting it through the firewall. The solution was to add the following iptables command: iptables -A INPUT -m state --state NEW,ESTABLISHED, RELATED -j ACCEPT good luck!

App won't work with just 8484 fowarded - FIXED To get the app to work you also have to open and/or forward port 7 on your firewall depending on your setup. I have ufw installed on Ubuntu 12.04

Not configurable There's no way to specify how much to increase/decrease volume and no playlist support. The two things I needed in a remote.

um why is the extension a dll? cause your screenshots are of an ubuntu os, dlls are for windows guys........... cant get this to work for nothing, it would be nice to have a lil more depth to your instructions...... Also I have no extension folder for banshee 2.4.1 i do however have a plugin folder, but since the extension offered at your site is a dll and not an xml kinda useless, you might also want to note that ubuntu has completely changed its user folder setup and there is no lib folder either, atleast not as of 12.04.......

Almost Great App The library seems extra buggy, it shows artists and albums that I used to have on my iPhone (never on my laptop). Weird? Also can't select a song on my phone that is outside of the currently selected artist or album on banshee. Otherwise I can browse by songs and works very well, cool volume control as well. A widget would be awesome an awesome addition.

Almost Perfect Works great to start/pause play, skip tracks, or even select songs from your library by artist, album, or from a list of all songs. However it doesn't support rating information or playlists. So close to perfect, but just a few features short.

Looks great but has unreliable library function. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I can't select anything through the library interface. I'm also having problems syncing the library. If I make a change on banshee it doesn't seem to reflect that change through this app, I tried resyncing but the old version of the library was still there. Everything else seems to work.

Exactly what it says on the tin! I have a Dell Mini 9 with Peppermint 2 and Banshee 2, and an LG Doubleplay with Gingerbread and I can attest that this app does exactly as promised. I am going to try to convince my parents to switch to Linux on their media PCs just so they can have an easy remote control like this one for their music. (Not that this is the only reason to switch to Linux on a media PC, haha)
