Audiobook Player 2 (v. 1.12) Разработано Fredrik Markström |
A no bull, audio book player. It aims at being an optimal audio book player for long term use by offering flexibility and useful features but not bells and whistles.
This is the free version with ads and paypal (for donations). There is a payed version on market without ads/paypal libraries, which makes it a lot smaller.

[2013-09-26] A Google User: App won't start. |
[2013-09-19] A Google User: Simple and efficient |
[2013-09-18] A Google User: Used 2b a good app (good enough to try again) Worked fine on 3 prev phones. Now instead of immed. playing next track, just silence until I press button to light screen. EVERY time! EDIT: reinstalled cos other book players just didn't have the same features. Couldn't live without it. Maybe I can beat the delay bug. |
[2013-08-29] A Google User: Great! This is by far the best audio book player I've come across on Android. |
[2013-07-04] A Google User: Amazing Great app, does perfectly what it is supposed to do. 5 stars. |
[2013-06-30] A Google User: Lame Second time in a year I've tried it. Its so simple that it won't find my audio books. |
[2013-06-28] A Google User: Best book reader out there ..many thanks |
[2013-05-26] A Google User: Bästa ljudbokspelaren Ingen tvekan. Ni som tycker den är ful. Den är till för att lyssna på böcker med, inte för att läsa. Stäng av skärmen och spara batteri. |
[2013-04-11] A Google User: Annoying It annoyed me. It have great potential and I wanted to like it. But it starts playing without pressing the play bottun, I cannot use the bottuns on my headset which makes it even harder to stop the track when it starts on its own. It's frustrating |
[2013-03-27] A Google User: Plays well with others...but Unable to delete old folders. Shows books no longer on phone |
[2013-03-01] A Google User: Useless Can't find any of my audio books. Implement a way to set folder for books manually. Nexus 4 |
[2013-02-11] A Google User: Audiobook Player? Hmm. Lo and behold, an audiobook player that doesn't play m4b audiobook files even when specifying storage in an "audiobooks" folder as per instructions. Go figure. Is it an MP3 player only? |
[2013-02-04] A Google User: brilliant brilliant little app |
[2013-01-13] A Google User: Best App Ever |
[2012-12-23] A Google User: Wonderful I use it all the time. Has just what you need, nothing you don't. Clean easy to use interface. Crashes are few and far between. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Nice app, butt Very good audio book reader, but bluetootj controls do not work with it on my phone. And ad often features full length backside of naked lady. |
[2012-12-12] A Google User: Good basic player: many improvements needed. This audio book player is very good for simple books. I have a stack of podcasts (Planetary Radio) that I want to listen to, and alas, it didn't pay attention to the .m3u file, nor did it present the 135 .mp3 files in alphabetical order. (which, since they were dated files, would have put them in order). There was also no way to find the file I wanted. I would buy the version in the market if it had those features. (Well, it seems that it sorts the files in alphabetical order based upon the name in the trac |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Function over form This app doesn't look like much, but it does it's job superbly. Highly recommended! |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Works great Well organized and has the right features for an audiobook player. |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: Player It works well when you can figure how to get the audiobooks to show up in the listing. |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Just works Best audio player. It just works. Very easy to use and clean interface. |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Stops playing every 5 or 10 seconds |
[2012-10-25] A Google User: Cannot use on my SGS3 Always turns off or pauses audio a few minutes after screen is off. Too bad, looks great otherwise. |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: My fav audiobook player My favorite Android audiobook player application since 1.5 Cupcake, hands down! |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Inappropriate Ads!!! Love the app but I keep seeing this totally offensive Dark Summoner ad. I dont want to see offensive ADs. If it keeps coming up Im going to delete this app. |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Problem with Galaxy S3 I used this app with a Galaxy S Captivate with no problems, but when I upgraded to a Galaxy S3, I suddenly encountered many problems, one of which was that the program regularly paused after a period of time when the screen was black, and required pressing the start button to start it again. (Yes, I turned off the automatic pause function.) The program paused when the earphone was unplugged, but didn't resume when the plug was reinserted. I don't recall for sure, but I think when I got a phone call, and it paused, it didn't resume when the call ended. The short advance arrow, caused the program to advance to the next file and then 10 seconds more. I forget what the short back arrow did, but don't think it worked right either. When I used the position bar. it seemed to move the position of the playing program, but when I removed my finger, it would go back the be beginning of the file. It would erratically change the file position when the program closed and was opened again. None of these problems happened in several years of use with my Captivate. I think that audiobook player 2 just does not work correctly with Android 4.0. I paid for the commercial version. |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: No play speed It works, but to be an audio book player it needs to have functions used when listenimg to audio books, suxh as play speed, auto-rewind on resume, bookmarks. |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: best audio book app does what it needs to do flawlessly. one of my favorite apps. |
[2012-08-25] A Google User: Beautiful... On the inside If it was not for thy app I would be holding an iphone right now! |
[2012-08-21] A Google User: Can't browse This player looked like just what I wanted: simple interface with big buttons. There is nothing worse than accidentally hitting "skip" when you are trying to pause a book before dosing off. This app won't allow you to select where your books are stored. I prefer to listen to books using my Archos 5IT, and this app can't find my books, no matter where I try and drop them. It finds all my music on my HTC wildfire, though, so I guess this could work for you. |
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Don't donate I loved the program in the past but then my phone was reset when repaired and when I reinstalled the app I found that my previous donation no longer applied and that I would need to donate again to remove all future adds. I have changed phones and reset several times since then which would have cost me a lot of money to keep away the adds with this app. So look at other audio book apps first. |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Great audiobook player Great app |
[2012-08-13] A Google User: Fair Decent and light but I miss many features from Smart Audiobook Player and MortPlayer. Can't even change the audiobooks folder. |
[2012-08-10] A Google User: External sd It does not find my audiobooks on my external_sd folder, in a sub folder called audiobooks |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Perfect player It just works. |
[2012-07-22] A Google User: Can navigate to where books are The title says it all, this app won't allow you to navigate to where your books are. Not much good without the. |
[2012-07-21] A Google User: Works perfectly |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: Have read almost 40 books with this I used this player to plow through an immense number of books with very little hassle. I upgraded to the pay version to give something to the author, but I was quite happy with the free version. |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: Ics problem? I love this player but ever since upgrading to android ice cream sandwich I've had trouble with losing the audio when I reopen the player. I have to restart to get the audio back. Seems to happen when I go in and out of WiFi zones. HTC Vivid. |
[2012-07-18] A Google User: Nearly perfect audiobook app Rename .m4b files to.m4a and they play fine. Dev could score some points by adding that to the file filter. Love the sleep feature, perfect for anyone who goes to sleep listening to books. |
[2012-07-13] A Google User: There r better apps in market |
[2012-07-12] A Google User: No russian support Use another one |
[2012-07-07] A Google User: Waste of Time HTC Sensation - couldn't open any of my mp3 audio books. Doing a rescan basically hung up the app...waste of time, uninstalling. |
[2012-07-04] A Google User: Skippy When skip forward or back it stutters and skips for several seconds. Milestone X 2. |
[2012-07-02] A Google User: Simplicity at its best Have had android over 5 years. This is the first app I felt like giving a review for |
[2012-06-25] A Google User: Use it everybnight Still the best "fall asleep" app for me! One small suggestion... can I have an option so the volume buttons work opposite? ie the volume down would advance a page instead of turn back a page |
[2012-06-24] A Google User: Speed There no speed control, wery bad |
[2012-06-21] A Google User: Excellent Very well designed. I use it constanly. Support this program! Best features are: automatic play/pause headphone detection and pause/resume on phone call or alarm interruption, bookmarks all books so you can skip between books and pick up where you left off, can lock interface orientation so you don't have to look where the buttons have moved, book chapters are always in order, sane and simple controls with just the right tweakability. Just the right mix to make this a truely useful app. |
[2012-06-18] A Google User: Does what it says Thus is my go to player. Simple but effective. |
[2012-05-28] A Google User: Bad Not very good consept!!!!! |
[2012-05-27] A Google User: Galaxy S Fungerar mycket bra. |
[2012-05-25] A Google User: Big button! This app wins just because of the BIG play/pause button. That's the only reason I need to pick it over the rest. The only thing I miss is the option to go into sleep mode at the end of the current track (instead of by time). |
[2012-05-24] A Google User: Superb Simple, clean, minimal with the most outstanding feature of having to shake the device periodically to stop it from sleeping. Previously used Mort Audiobook Player. Using an SGS2 |
[2012-05-13] A Google User: Poor Not a lot of codecs supported |
[2012-05-01] A Google User: Great app The best app for audio books for me :-) |
[2012-04-30] A Google User: Doesnt save setting Every morning I have to re find were I was! |
[2012-04-17] A Google User: The best Simple but got it where it counts. |
[2012-04-17] A Google User: Excellent and convenient All around well-polished app, I especially love the autoplay and autopause function for when i plug in or unplug headphones or receive a call. This is now my alltime favorite audiobook player. |
[2012-04-12] A Google User: No books Theres no books |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: shake? love the shake feature, but it doesn't always work. |
[2012-04-08] A Google User: Great, simple player. |
[2012-04-01] A Google User: Would be good BUT If I choose audio books only it doesn't find the folder labeled audio books so I have to scroll thru all music and podcasts to find book..and no open menu item either. Bummer |
[2012-03-31] A Google User: New Good |
[2012-03-31] A Google User: Doesn't play m4b shame doesn't support m4b files so not able to use it. |
[2012-03-28] A Google User: Great app Allows audiobook only search- invaluable |
[2012-03-28] A Google User: I like it. I will buy it after a few days. I like it. Love it so far. I hope to buy a paid version. |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: crap this app is Teri-Bad avoid it at all cost.. |
[2012-03-20] A Google User: Issues with the scanning feature. It won't "forget" deleted books and if you modify one it has already scanned, it won't play it or rescan it easily. |
[2012-03-20] A Google User: Very well done Finally a finger friendly audio player, the partial lock is excellent, it has a very small memory footprint less than half of other programs I have used, and uses much much less CPU power (eight times less than my previous program) allowing me to go much further between charges. Thank you Fred for making a perfectly simple, Finger Friendly, audio book player. |
[2012-03-12] A Google User: . Great app |
[2012-03-09] A Google User: So so Really needs a way to exit without having to kill the task. |
[2012-03-07] A Google User: Looks good but... Doesn't support .m4b |
[2012-02-26] A Google User: Perfect Simple, easy, dies everything I want it to! |
[2012-02-25] A Google User: Good-no frills player. Needs just one thing for for me to up it to 5 stars and pay for it - headset button controls. I have the single button Bose MEI2and this app flat ignores the button actions. |
[2012-02-20] A Google User: Worthless Absurd |
[2012-02-08] A Google User: Excellent. Create "Audiobooks" folder, copy all your books into it and you are all set. Great app. |
[2012-02-07] A Google User: Doesn't work at all Cannot find .mp3 files. Continually force closes. Worthless app. Doesn't work on stock Droidx. |
[2012-02-04] A Google User: Awesome audiobook player This is the best audio book player. It remembers you place on several books simultaneously. |
[2012-02-02] A Google User: Did not work at all wanted to play a small selection of music stored in my phone . Absolutely rubbish app. |
[2012-02-02] A Google User: Best Free Audiobook-Player Without doubt the best Audiobook-Player out there. Straight forward interface with big buttons, constructive preferences panel, and a nice sleep timer. Perfect! |
[2012-01-28] A Google User: The best audiobook player. Period. |
[2012-01-26] A Google User: Excellent Just what I was looking for. Remembers position even when I switch to listening to podcasts. Large buttons for easy control. short skip back and forth to re listen if I misheard something. |
[2012-01-25] A Google User: Excellent app! Love this app on my galaxy nexus, but I would like to see just a couple of features added: - Pause on notification/incoming call - Rewind (like 5 seconds) on resume |
[2012-01-19] A Google User: Great audio player Great audio player geared perfectly towards audiobooks, works quite nicely to handle longer audio podcasts as well, preserved pause points, very few do that lol. |
[2012-01-15] A Google User: Works, but no quite This app works good, but you can't stop it unless you go into settings and force quite. Come on, you can do better than that! |
[2012-01-12] A Google User: Love this app. The shake feature is great! |
[2012-01-04] A Google User: No browsing Will not let me browse to where my audio books are. |
[2012-01-01] A Google User: Good book reader. Works like you would expect. |
[2011-12-28] A Google User: A+ Love it. Can we have a slicker looking icon though? |
[2011-12-23] A Google User: Perfect Very simple, easy to use. Doesn't display covers. |
[2011-12-20] A Google User: LOVE IT simply perfect. i'm very pleased |
[2011-12-15] A Google User: Nice, almost perfect Please add an audio boost! Plenty of books are too quiet at max volume, I'd find it really handy and would pay for the privilege |
[2011-12-13] A Google User: Like it a lot. Programmed the way all apps should be. Great buttons, excellent idea for the navigation, ty |
[2011-12-12] A Google User: fantastic app I use this every day and love it, simple and easy UI, as another reviewer as mentioned, a nicer way to select the audio book would be nice, but other than that, fantastic. |
[2011-12-10] A Google User: ? dont know where to get new audiobooks? any suggestions? |
[2011-12-06] A Google User: Excellent Remembers where I left off even after power cycle or listening to other audio books |
[2011-12-06] A Google User: Puzzled Stopped finding books in the /audiobook folder, no idea why. It finds all other music tracks elsewhere though :/ Used to rate this 5, hoping for fix. |
[2011-11-24] A Google User: Cory Thanks exactly what I needed. |
[2011-11-22] A Google User: Hi. Why do all my songs have to be on the sd card for it to recognize it? Annoying. |
[2011-11-22] A Google User: Could not recognize folders and files This audiobook player is simply terrible. It could not recognize valid mp3 files and folders placed on an external sd card. |
