Regarding the "Licensing" message received upon launch:
There has been much question (and accusation) as to what you are seeing when you launch the application initially. The opening screen displays a message stating that your license will expire in one day.
Please allow us to explain.
The license check is an adjustment to the way that Google handles purchases on the market. The way google does it, is that it requires the application to check to validate the purchase every day. We set it up so that it wont do it every day - it does it once per year after the initial 24 hour period. This allows for use of the application when there might not be service available to you.
Upon initial launch, however, you will be provided with a 1 day license. This protects us with regards to the refund policy that Google has in place. If you keep your order beyond the initial day, your licence will be renewed automatically, free of charge, once every year.
If you go into the options section of AndCAD, you will see the area regarding licensing. From there, you can restart the one year period anytime that you wish to.
Hopefully this clears up the concerns and questions regarding licensing.

[2013-05-30] A Google User: Tragic Abandonding of Huge Potential This otherwise 5 star App needed basic Cad functions to be extended & further developed, but was otherwise absolutely robust and elegantly implemented. Being one of the most expensive Apps in the store, you couldn't have set up a higher expectation of things to come, and a more cynical rip off of paying customers. Heard of "Simplector" (SimpleVector)? It's an SVG (vector) editor. Though not quite a Cad tool, it is robust, has surprisingly good performance, *and* is being actively developed, and well supported. It is already quite capable, and has huge potential. |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Showed potential But devs gave up on it |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: I like it mostly I cant figure out how to invert the colors so it draws in black and the background is white. But other then that it is very easy to learn and use and i like it very much. I do wish it created PDFs, but PNGs are really just as good. |
[2013-04-06] A Google User: Needs Improvement Actually is a good app, better than AutoCAD WS, GstarCAD, AutoQ3D and InardCAD. Need ability to display line and object alignment in degrees, minutes and seconds. This would make it field functional. Could also use the ability to list object properties. |
[2013-03-17] A Google User: Nice CAD app Decent feature set, works well for a phone version. Just wish development wasn't dead after dropping $20 on this. |
[2013-03-04] A Google User: It's good but.. No support at all. No more updates. Contact form on website is broken. Program itself is good. |
[2012-11-12] A Google User: Weak If this is the state of the art for CAD on tablets, it is a sad day. Very clumsy interface. Very expensive for an unpolished product. Easier to make a sketch on paper and wait until back at office and use a real CAD program on the PC. |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Good Cad awesome licen check good |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Great Been using a long time now. Needs a 3D optional update. I would pay for that |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Best on the Market This is a great app. It definitely needs work and I feel that all the users are owed this as it is a costly app. The basics of it are great and work fine however there are a few little things that need a lot of work. When I export a .dxf it scales it to 16x original. NO GOOD. there has never been an update since I have owned it. NO GOOD. No trim tool. NO GOOD. No fillet or chamfer. NO GOOD. With a *little* bit of extra time put into this app it would be fantastic. I would even be happy to spend a little extra on a patch for bug fixes and a few more tools. I have tried others on the market and this is by far the best. VERY GOOD. If there was an update to fix faults and add tools, this will definitely get upgraded to a 5 star rating.(it is almost there now.) |
[2012-09-08] A Google User: DO NOT BUY THIS APP IT TAKES YOUR MONEY, you can not get intouch with anyone, Google Platystore or developer.. no one responds, web site contact error 404 .. STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP |
[2012-08-07] A Google User: Activation Not Working! I have had this app for a while and overall I like it but when I upgraded to jellybean I now cannot activate the product on my tab rendering it useless. |
[2012-07-09] A Google User: Needs internet to work??! Why would you do his to an app on a mobile device? The reason I bought this was to work up sketches in remote locations. Ridiculous. |
[2012-07-04] A Google User: Stay away from this app. It is the only app I know that (once purchased) appears to have issues always varifying with google. The app developer have NOT resolved the ongoing issues with licence varification. I paid a lot for the full licence and it is now a useless app that cannot be opened. It will just continue to display a box informing the user that it needs to verify with google.......which it can't. DO NOT PURCHASE THE APP |
[2012-04-22] A Google User: Works well on my TF201 I like this app very much, it is what I have been looking for. I have a question, is it possible to import multiple files into one design. Can't find a way to do this, i.e. have saved standard drawings and add them to a new file? Any one out there know how to to this? This is the fault I see with this product, and also no group and multi select. But for the price I can work round all these issues. It just seems an easy fix, but may be it is a patent problem. |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: Time efficiency Because I have found nothing better, I am quite pleased with this app. But using it costs a lot of unnecessary swapping time between instructions! The next suggestions will improve this a lot! ---Zooming and panning possibility in every drawing situation by using two fingers (you don `t do that in any other activity) spreading and closing for the zoom and moving the two fingers synchronously for panning. ---selecting groups with a rectangle. ---a third row of empty menu`s. You can drag and drop any instruction from the instructionbar into this bar for quick access. ---during drawing the possibility to change from landscape to portrait by just turning the pad (for better overview in different type of construction layouts in a drawing) ---undo should work only on the drawing activities (not all the zoom and other things) These modifications will give the user lots and lots more time-efficiency. Hoping that there is a reasonable update-interval, I give for now 4 stars. |
[2012-03-21] A Google User: So-so Can't group objects. Hasn't been improved (as far as I can see) in a year. No development occurring, and it's certainly not complete. |
[2012-03-08] A Google User: Licensing issues (Transformer Prime TF201) Thought this would be a great app for the new tablet I just picked up. I am not home and therefore I do not have immediate access to wifi. When I got back to where I am staying I was disappointed to see a license activation. If you require a activation for a app there should be a prompt after the download and install. At the very least a the very beginning of the app overview make it know that one is required. Therefore the rating is low, will revise once I got back to the wifi hotspot. Not very happy with this app, according to the developer I only need to activate once a year, since activating the first time I've had to activate again within a week. I've emailed the developer about this issue, four days have passed and have not gotten a reply. Want my money back!! |
[2012-02-22] A Google User: Please make for kindle Fire! |
[2012-01-31] A Google User: No auto save, does not save state Great, great app. I love it. There's just one problem. AndCad appears to not save state when minimized. I've lost hours worth of work (and doodling) because I didn't save manually before doing other things on my tablet. Sure, I should have saved, but it's 2012. Apps should either save state automatically when cleared out of memory, or implement some sort of auo-save option. I have emailed the developer, and will change my review to five star when this problem is addressed. Other than that, this app is great. |
[2012-01-20] A Google User: Very useable software! |
[2012-01-05] A Google User: I love this app I have been able to flesh out ideas for at home. I am disappointed that it is not a stand alone app, it will not work with out a internet access. For $35 I would like to have known it would not work at work, for that reason alone it is a 2 star other wise it is a solid 4 maybe 5 |
[2011-12-07] A Google User: Can't Open Anything!! Program wont open without validating the license. This makes the program completely worthless in the field where there's no signal or wifi. If you need to use this professionally you'll be disappointed. There's also no support for modifying the thickness of lines, which is pretty crummy. |
[2011-11-02] A Google User: Good Program Easy to use and functional for simple CAD drawings. I would like to see some improvements in output without the need to use third party software. Eg Print to PDF, Autocad style layouts with default text fields ( Copyright notice, Client, Site, Version, Notes), Email drawing etc Then I would give it 5 stars |
[2011-08-14] A Google User: Wonderful program I use it pretty often and love it. Works very well for what I use it for. Look forward to its continual improvement. |
