Dr. Shah is currently a vitreoretinal fellow at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, MI. He comes from a family of physicians in India, and his parents were trained in the United States. Dr. Shah graduated from medical school and subsequently completed an ophthalmology residency in India. He has completed a fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal diseases and surgery: at the world-renowned L. V. Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India. He commenced his American training by doing a post doc fellowship in vitreo-retina diseases and a surgical internship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. In 2006 he completed a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at The University of Iowa, one of the top ophthalmology departments in the world. Subsequently he completed his residency at the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2009 where he was honored with being selected as a resident Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). Dr Shah has over sixty five peer reviewed publications and book chapters in ophthalmology.
Dr Shah is the Editor for the Retina/Vitreous Section of the “Eye Wiki” a new component of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as the senior editor in international ophthalmology for "Pearls in Ophthalmology".
