Mowa is a mobile software suitable for pressure ulcer treatment.

Its purpose is to provide nurses and doctors with a pocket, accessible and easy instrument able to evaluate, treat and observe lesions and pressure ulcers.

Mowa can facilitate the treatment of pressure ulcer lesions.

With Mowa it is possible to:

-> Analyze pressure ulcers starting from stage II on (according to EPUAP – NPUAP classification);

-> Take a picture of the pressure ulcer or import a JPG image from a gallery;

-> Analyze the three tissues of a pressure ulcer and calculate their percentage:

• Necrotic tissue    (black)
• Fibrinous tissue   (yellow)
• Granulation tissue (red)

-> Measure pressure ulcer area in cm² from a minimum of 2 mm to a maximum 300 mm;

-> Determine other features like the exudate amount, the presence of infection, of haemorrhage, and the depth of the lesions;

-> Prescribe a medical treatment in compliance with LG EPUAP – NPUAP (first- and second-line medication);

-> Prescribe the frequence of the medical treatment;

-> Print a summary pdf file with all the information about the exam and the pressure ulcer images;

-> Keep stored jpg and pdf files on sdcard in the MOWA folder.

-> Share results with other MOWA users sending them jpg and pdf read-only files;

-> Formulate healing hypothesis analyzing two or more MOWA investigations carried out in different moments;

TEST
MOWA has already analyzed different kinds of pressure ulcers from Stage II on (EPUAP – NPUAP) in different parts of the human body, employing camera and web images. It has been used to evaluate necrotic, fibrinous, granulating and mixed tissues, infected,  hemorrhagic and deep ulcers, with different amounts of exudate and eschars.

OBSERVATIONS
With MOWA, a pressure ulcer takes a different aspect and color. It is more "pleasant" for human eyes.

ADVANTAGES
Doctor activities are reduced to the bare minimum. He has to:

• calculate the size of the lesion with a tape measure;
• determine the amount of exudate (null, poor, moderate or high), the presence of infection or haemorrage, and its depth.
• medicate

With MOWA, a new age of pocket "bedside" evaluation devices is near to begin! MOWA will turn a smartphone or a tablet PC into a medical device.

LIMITATIONS AND PROPER USE OF MOWA
This software must be used for educational, informational and for objective comparisons

During the analysis, it is not required to connect to the Internet.

Our test simulator has all the necessary features and options any test taker could ask for. The test simulator can modify the time limit for each question, pause the exam, modify the question amount per exam, continue the exam after screen lock or phone call, go back to a previous question and much, much more!

Peek Question is a feature that lets the test taker see the correct answer while still taking the exam. This feature also outputs the rationale(if available) to the screen accompanying the correct answer.

Note Question is a feature that lets the test taker add a note to any question she encounters.  This note can be viewed later on by encountering the question during another test simulation or, if the question has been starred, in view mode.

Star Question is a feature that lets the test taker “Bookmark” a question for future reference.  All starred questions are listed on the home screen of the application which can be reviewed with a single press of a button.

Exam History is an attribute that tracks the user’s test taking history. This feature displays when the exam was taken, how many questions were asked, how many questions were answered correctly, the name of the test taker, and an icon if the test taker used the Peek feature.

Show All is a feature that outputs all questions to the screen in a scrollable format. This feature provides the user with an easy method of viewing all questions, choices, answers and rationales.

Always a pocket guide, still a pocket guide. Portability has been a hallmark of The Sanford Guide for over 40 years. The Sanford Guide to Antimicrobial Therapy 2011 application extends that portability to Android devices. The most trusted infectious diseases treatment resource in print now presents the same comprehensive, treatment- focused coverage of infectious diseases and clinical conditions, anti-infective drug information, therapeutic adjuncts and comparative spectra of activity in a clean, uncluttered, device-optimized interface. Based on the Sanford Guide Web Edition, the application features expanded coverage of topics compared to the print edition.

Other than for the initial download and to receive updates, the application may be used fully without the need for connectivity. Maximum screen space is devoted to the display of content by limiting buttons to those considered to be most essential: Home, Back and Search. All buttons are located on the application menu bar. The Index is activated by the search button on the application menu bar. The same button also hides the keyboard for full screen display of Index topics. For more about the application and the Sanford Guide, use the Info button on the launch screen.

Content queries are begun on the launch screen using a searchable Index or four Rapid Reference categories. Diseases and Clinical Conditions are organized by type (bacterial, fungal, mycobacterial, parasitic and viral). Bacterial diseases are further organized by site of infection and organism. Drug Information is similarly organized by type. Therapeutic Adjuncts include post-exposure antimicrobial prophylaxis (e.g., hepatitis, HIV, rabies), as well as preventative prophylaxis for surgical procedures and post-transplants. Comparison Tables include activity spectra tables for bacteria, fungi and viruses. These tables are color-coded for ease of use.

Extensive internal links provide efficient navigation to related content. For instance, drug regimens on disease pages are linked to corresponding pages for each drug containing comprehensive information on usage, dosing, adverse effects, activity, pharmacology, pharmacodynamics and drug-drug interactions. Broad topics such as meningitis and pneumonia include Overview pages with an outline and links to all sub-topics for that disease.
