Feature 1 - Proven Pain Description Methodology
Manage My Pain leverages the American Pain Foundation's LOCATES methodology to describe pain. This approach provides an intuitive way for patients to easily describe their pain to enable medical professionals to evaluate and assess the pain.
L: Location of the pain and other body parts that it travels to.
O: Other associated symptoms such as anxiety, dizziness, or nausea.
C: Character of the pain such as burning, dull, sharp, or throbbing.
A: Aggravating and alleviating factors. What makes the pain get better or worse?
T: Time and duration of pain, and whether it is constant, intermittent or breakthrough.
E: Environment where the pain occurs, such as while at work or at home.
S: Severity of the pain using a 0-to-10 pain scale from no pain to worst ever.
Each section already contains a pre-populated list based on medical journals of common characteristics from chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, headaches, cancer, and rheumetism.
Feature 2 - Quick and Simple Ways to Record Pain
• Add pain records through a single-screen typing-free interface
• Customize lists to ensure accurate and relevant descriptors
• Duplicate an existing record to avoid re-entry
Feature 3 - Graph, chart, and view pain records
• Analyze the distribution of your records through Pie Charts
• Graph the severity of your records over time through Line Graphs
• See records in a Calendar View and overlay indicators
• Apply a filter to only view records that meet specific criteria
Feature 4 - Generate reports
• Create a PDF summarizing your pain records
• Optionally include filters and details in the report
Feature 5 - View and share reports
• View all previously-generated reports
• Email any generated reports
Feature 6 - Store your info online and sync across devices
• Store all information in the cloud and never lose it again
• Your privacy is assured and strictly protected
• Synchronize all your devices with your pain information
Feature 7 - Use entirely offline, with backup and restore to file capabilities
• No need to create an online account to use the app
• Export all records to a file on your SD Card

[2012-11-11] Shane: Great Pain Management App I have chronic pain, and this helps me keep track of when and where I'm hurting. It will be nice when I can send the pain reports to my doctor for records/evaluation. Only suggestions are: change font, make more Android design compliant, and auto minimize the previous sections of the records when moving to the next section. |
[2012-11-09] Laura: Love it It lets me put everything in to keep track of my pain. |
[2012-11-04] Julia: Great App! I don't normally leave feedback. But, I felt that this app deserved some. I am currently being treated for chronic pain and have been asked to keep a pain journal. This app is perfect for tracking and rating my pain. I love the feature that you can back it up to either the online server or the devices memory. I can also create reports to send to my Dr. so they can see my progress. It is a great way to organize and track my pain. Well worth the price. |
[2012-11-01] Robert: Where is the online site |
[2012-11-01] Reatha: So easy to use This is great! I love it, its intuitive and easy to use. I have been looking for something really convenient for ages or I just forget to write it down. I love the ability to add medical details too. The only thing I would suggest to add is a place to store medical letters. That way it would be all nice and together. |
[2012-10-30] kathleen: love it this is a wonderful app for those suffering from chronic pain! I'm 21 and very active so convenience is key. if you are having a problem the developers will look into it and make sure that you are satisfied with the results and they are open to suggestions. worth every penny!! |
[2012-10-28] A: Best of this Type Have tried many apps & this is the best but still lacks a few features & settings. Good customization, except NO tracking results of tests or inputting dosage of medication. Also needs Illness categories, as otherwise all pain is too general. Can do work around but IMO needs to be specific to illness or injury. These are vital stats to track. Keep track Pro app is also very good but it won't keep notes & reports & charts are not as good as this app. |
[2012-10-28] Samuel: Extremely useful This app has helped my pain team to pin point exactly what exacerbates my symptoms, enabling them to tailor my drug regime. An invaluable application. |
[2012-10-28] Jessica: Thank You! This app helps us track cluster headaches. I completely appreciate the full customization & ease of use. Not to mention the charts and calendars that have helped us make our case to insurance for more medication allocations. Thank you for your hard work. |
[2012-10-27] Alycia: Prefect! I have been using this app for quite a while. My only complaint was that there was no way to sync. I sent an email a few months ago and was told they were working on it. Now it's here! Thank you! This app is absolutely perfect now! |
[2012-10-24] Candy: Love it. Only the time line never works. Please fix |
[2012-10-10] tata: Love it! Absolutely the smoothest, best, & most useful app I have. Gladly paying & upgrading!!!! Thank you....... |
[2012-10-01] Rebekah: Great app! Works great, every time I look at my screen I am reminded to take notes on how bad and the type of pain I experience. Thank you for making my life just a little bit easier! ***update***I have noticed one horrible thing about this app....if you turn the screen even a little bit while recording my pain all of the data I put in gets erased...will change back to 5 stars when this gets fixed....all in all its a decent app. Would be amazing when this gets fixed!! |
[2012-09-29] Jennifer: not sure, it is a great consept but it will only allow for three items, overlays. I need it to allow more, if you have more details to record. it is a little confusing to use. I have two records of entries when I only put one in. sycing is also necessary. then I would give five stars. |
[2012-09-28] Melissa: Love it Easy to use. Great way to keep track. Just wish the charts and some reports looked better. |
[2012-09-26] Brooklyn: Samsung Galaxy Note This is a great app for keeping track of my pains. I can use this when I have doctors appointments. I like the view reports, edit, and E-mail features. This app work great on my phone. Best of all, it's user friendly. |
[2012-09-23] Jennifer: Great Great app! It would be cool if it could somehow use the other peoples pain reviews and their suggestions on relief |
[2012-09-21] David: Excellent app Has great features and functionality. Easy to use. Unfortunately it crashes a bit when I look at a lot of graphs and charts. |
[2012-09-21] Alana: Great app This app makes life so much easier so I can go to the doctor and show exactly what's doing on instead of trying to remember everything |
[2012-09-21] pieceofwork: great app. could you add a resolution tab, (how you dealt with the pain) took Advil, iced, nothing, etc. thanks |
[2012-09-18] Shawn: Great App I was recently in a accident, this app has been great for keeping track of pain to turn in to my doctors. Only issue I have had is the charts they don't display correctly, numbers are correct but charts don't appear. HTC EVO LG Sprint |
[2012-09-17] Ben: Great app / very useful correct doctor coordination Really like this would love to see cloud data file storage and a way to show how effective alleviating factors are. |
[2012-09-15] Suzanne: Invaluable if you're in PT, post-op or have chronic pain! Incredible record keeping w/exportable data for your doctors and therapists!! I am blown away by this app and how it is exactly what I needed!! I was hoping to find a pain journal and this is so much better! I have multiple areas that have pain (headache, sprained foot/knee, cervical and thoracic pain issues, and more and with this app, I can get specific about each area, and show my PT via the charts and reports how things are going. I'd like to see a tab when making a report for mood....if possible. But wow....what an app! I'm showing it to every MD, PT and PhD I see! A++++!! |
[2012-09-14] Arsen Delacroix: Amazing App and Customer Service I had a simple bug to report and the strangest thing happened... They actually responded and informed me that not only did they already know about it but they were fixing it in the next release! Most developers just take your money and run without responding to email comments like "smule" Anyways, the app itself makes it easier for me to track m'daily pain due to spinal deformities and ruptured discs... Not only is it a good idea to track your pain for doctors to review but for insurance purposes too! |
[2012-09-10] Danny: Good starting point A great idea but reporting and charts still not working properly. Good ideas like extending to remind to take medication, e.g. change pain patch I support, always struggle with 72 hours. Also extend reporting by anonymising for Dr worth considering. |
[2012-09-06] Lee: Just what we needed My daughter's paediatrician asked us to keep a pain diary. We started off with a notebook, which I didn't always have to hand at the right moment. This app is perfect. My phone is always to hand, I can tailor it to my daughter's sympyoms, it covers aspects I hadn't thought to note down, and the reports pulling the info together are excellent. |
[2012-09-06] Robert: Rob This is a good app and worth the $. But I wish I could put in more info like medical records and personal info. |
[2012-09-06] Bernie: Wonderful app! I've been using this app for nearly six months now. It's really been helpful in keeping track of pain levels which is useful in finding triggers. I had a weird issue where the program would crash, and the devs were amazing about fixing the issue for me immediately! They were so fast! And the sensitivity with which they handled my information and my health issues touched my heart. Thank you so much for all that you do! I wish I could do more to thank you. |
[2012-09-02] Sarula: Awesome app This app makes it so easy to update my Doctor. |
[2012-08-28] Juanita: Great w/out the crashes-- My software is now frozen and it will not open. I love this app. Please fix. If not, I would like a refund. Was working fine. Thanks |
[2012-08-16] Nicki: Very helpful Love this app, it is very easy to input and track my migraines. Only con is sometimes when you try to edit a record, it saves changes as a separate record. |
[2012-07-31] Pockafwye: Buggy, but a good idea A good concept, but buggy on my HTC One. Bug prevenys deleting records or showing calendar view. Would prefer a more visual way to illustrate where certain kinds of pain are located. Not especially useful for long duration, constant pain. Seems more tailored to acute episodes, like migraines, etc. |
[2012-07-31] Ethan: Great app Allows me to communicate with my doctors better about my symptoms without relying on my memory. Love that I can email my Dr reports. |
[2012-07-28] Angela: Good app Wish When We are entering our information about alleviating factors We could put in the exact medication We take and at what time. I take recurring medicine that I change every 3 days and it would be nice to have a reminder in here to do so.o |
[2012-07-20] Joseph: Nice useful app Galaxy Tab 10.1 Works great. Much better than paper record. Very flexible. Also great support from developer. Excellent value for the money. |
[2012-07-17] Rob, Bobby, but never ever Bob!: Kicks me out just as I am finishing! This program would be great if it allowed you to actually finish the record. I was only able to do 4 records in a week and a half. |
[2012-07-14] Jennifer: Very helpful Very helpful with tracking pain from my fibromyalgia! Gives me something to bring to my doctor's appt. to track my progress. |
[2012-07-07] Caz: Fab This is so useful |
[2012-07-04] Lana: Tremendously helpful app Living in pain is exhausting enough! This app makes communicating all of the factors of my medical condition with the doctor so much easier. Thank you so much for this tremendous app! |
[2012-07-02] Uncle Ricky: You guys (and gals) have done it again. I think the upgrade is just as good as the original product. I don't think your aware of just how valuable this upgraded app is. I emailed a 24 page report from this app to myself. Looks like it was professionally prepared by a nurse or Doctor. Absolutely and clearly another huge win for 'Manage my pain Pro' Can't imagine not having this product. Rick Haaland, owner of the blog 'Healthy Tech Talk |
[2012-06-28] Belinda: Helpful Having fibromyalgia this helps me work with my doctor & keep track of what works/makes worse. Great app! Would recommend!! |
[2012-06-27] Kevyn: Great App. Missing the profile! This is a wonderful app. I love it! Have been using for 2 mths now. I only have 2 complaints: first the profile part., I need this for myself and my daughter (both on same device). Second, there is no way to sync with other devices? Really, make it sync please??? |
[2012-06-13] KenBobPDX: Great way to track your pain! I've been looking for an app to keep track of the particulars regarding my pain. Documentation is the key to getting proper care if you are in pain. This app does all that and more! Great job guys! |
[2012-06-10] Nextenso: Brilliant app, makes the record of pain occurrences I give my doc far easier. Needs to be able to store & re-use a pain record. |

[2012-05-27] Jamie: Pain I Love this app it hard to go to the doctor and remember everyday. .. I can now email my report to my RA and Psyc Dr. so the can help me manage my pain and mental well being :-) |
[2012-05-24] Angela: problem thanks for fixing! It wouldn't allow for record editing keeps crashing - love all other features but not workable without being able to update/review records would have had to uninstall |

[2012-04-26] chantannell: Love it!! This app has been a life changer. I know I should be keeping a pain journal. It was difficult before. I felt like the most of the time I was writing the same thing every day, depressing, and it was difficult to review my journal entries. With this app I am am able to use check boxes, copy and paste. I am impressed with how customized I can make it. I also love how the app manages my data and creates a summary that I can send to my Dr. The only thing that is missing for me is a medication section. |
[2012-04-26] Jo: Absolutely awesome Thank you to the developers, fantastic, so helpful, keep up the great work. An add in for dietry intake would be soooo helpful and great too, again, thanks. |
[2012-04-24] kc: best app This has got to be the best app I have seen. I have been looking for his app for a long time. |
[2012-04-14] Judith: Good but crashes Very good app for recording pain but it frequently crashes or has bugs that mean you have to come right out and go back in. could also do with having an all day option as well as a general well being section. |
[2012-04-13] Jennifer: Awesome App I love this app!! I suffer from chronic pain and this app allows me to track my pain daily. I love that I can personalized the app so it is relevant to me. The reports and graphs help my health care providers keep track of my pain and to try to find patterns in order to provide better, more personalized care. With all the updates the app just keeps getting better and better. Keep up the great work. This app has truly changed how I manage my pain. Thank you! |
[2012-04-03] herewegoagain: Easy to use, Very easy to use and customize for your specific problem |
[2012-04-02] FlyMeAway: Pretty Good I like this overall. It's got a few bugs and is missing some features I'd like to see (such as medication info, follow-up results, etc.). Big plus: I emailed developer asking about these and received a prompt reply. I upgraded and have been using daily with satisfaction. |
[2012-03-30] Crystal: Good for keeping track easily It is nice to be able to track pain so quickly & easily. |
[2012-03-29] Gloria: Love it! I absolutely love this app to keep a diary of my pain. I used the Lite for a few weeks, before I bought the Pro version. I have been using it for about a month. My Rheumatologist wants specifics and I can customize this app to fit my needs. Of course, we are always greedy and want more; these two features..Sleep Tracker and entering a day that you missed...have been addressed in their "Feature Requests", so they might add them. I have an alarm set every day to remind me to enter in my pain diary, but if you are in alot of pain and don't enter before midnight, you are unable to. I have customized alleviating factors to add prednisone and pain meds and then put in notes how much I took. Sure, it would be great to have meds added. The developers seem very interested in hearing what we want and have to say about the app. I am curious what my Rheumatologist will say when I take my results with me to my appointment. |
[2012-03-17] lori: Great App |
[2012-03-13] Liz: Love it! Have chronic back and chest pain, this is brilliant for sending to my doctor and super helpful for getting all my meds balanced. Could so with a "follow up" screen for later - like did the relief method work, how's pain now etc? Would be great if you could set a reminder time for it as well! |
[2012-03-08] A: Could be better Overall great app for managing my chronic pain. I think the medication section needs more evolved. What type? Frequency taken? Did it help scale? Pain level after taken meds. |
[2012-03-04] Jay: Wow! I've tried others and this is by far the best. Better UI, customization, ability to log the most info, etc. This is a must for anyone who wants to accurately log pain episodes to ensure proper meds are prescribed! |
[2012-03-04] Graham: Pain managment The app is supurb i have been a chronic pain sufferer for some time and have been looking this to help keep track and more. Thanks for a great job well done! Ms. Graham Steel |
[2012-03-03] Kristy: Excellent app w abilities to customize Great app....love the ability to customize several settings...having lupus this is by far the best app out here that will allow you come as close as possible to creating a format to keep records. Would love to see this combined with medication logs and treatment logs so your doc and yourself can see what treatments are controlling symptoms and flare ups. |

[2012-02-24] Charmm: My Pain Diary 2012 Pain Mgmnt. Diary, and YES this app is great. |
[2012-02-18] J.W.: Responsive Notified the developer of a bug. Said they were unfamiliar with my problem. I hadn't create log or sent the more detailed explanation of the issue so didn't expect anything to be done. Today I get the email asking for my evaluation of the update they were putting in; primarily since most of it was done to address the issues I had raised. Pretty responsive to my complaint I think! Give more stars after doc sees my report. |
[2012-02-18] Jon: This is an excellent tool for tracking symptoms for my ruematologist. I can never seem to adequately describe my symptom history but this tracker can. |
[2012-02-12] David: Awesome app I have been looking for an app like this... |
[2012-02-06] Michelle: Awesome Keeping up with everything is easier with this app. With my medical condition it makes it hard if I don't have something to keep up with my health. This text to guess work out. Well worth 4 bucks. Droid x 2 |
[2012-02-03] Teresa: Do Not Update!!! I didn't realize the extent of the invasion of my privacy until I installed the new update! While in the prgm, I stumbled upon the prgrm files, aloong w/my contacts, photos, mssg's, etc. When I tried to contact them, I rcd "improper PDU" whatever that is. I liked this prgm until I found out they were accessing everything on my SD. |

[2012-02-03] Tara: This now works GREAT with my tablet, LOVE it! I had originally rated this a one star, I was contacted and told when it would be ready for tablets. They were great at working with and helping me. This is a great tool if you have multiple health issues. It will be great for catching patterns my doctors and I may be missing. It is fairly simple to use. I have already started recommending this to friends and people I know. |
