SwannView: Live Swann DVR viewing on your Android phone.

Note: This app uses a data stream that will connect to your DVR via 3G or WiFi. When using 3G, the video from your DVR will likely be considered "downloads" by your phone service provider and will contribute to any download limit your phone data plan may have. If you exceed any plan limits you may incur additional usage charges. Consult with your mobile service provider regarding the use of a video streaming app and how it may affect your plan.

DVRx-2500 models ARE NOT supported with SwannView

SwannView supports the following features:
Multi-channel viewing with 4 cameras on screen at the same time.
You can capture still images, and save these to your local photo gallery and also control PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) cameras remotely. SwannView also supports both profile and landscape viewing modes.
The video stream is sent directly from your DVR to your phone without being routed through 3rd party servers.

To use SwannView on your Android handset:
Tap + on screen to add camera, on next screen Tap "Add" at top right and enter your DVR's details. To add cameras to the main screen, Tap + on screen, Tap DVR, Tap Camera to show. After successful connection to your cameras, next time you use app, Tap + on screen then Tap Play at bottom left to restart your previous camera selections.
Use phone's "back" button to stop streaming and close app.

Works as needed This app does exactly what I need it to do. All I wanted was to be able to view my home video cams on my Nexus 7 and it fulfills that need. It is not fancy and comes with no real setup instructions but is simple enough to work through. The key for me to get this to work was to use my Mobile port. All the rest of the setup was the same as through the web.

Works OK nothing fantastic This app gets your Swann system available for Android devices. The caveat here is ensuring your settings are for Mobile and you enter your Mobile port number in the Port field (defaulted from your DVR). Also, be mindful of whether or not you are on your local network (private IP address) vs a non-local network ( public IP address). So enter either your public or private IP address in the Server field. There is also no need to append your Web port number to the IP address as you will enter the Mobile port number. Ensure you have a user name (same as on the DVR) and you should be good to go.

Some hints 4 U Find your systems ip address by typing "what is my ip address" in google on a computer also tied to the network. The port is 18004. If you did not assign a user name/pword, the default is admin and 123456. Make sure your phone is not on the same wifi as the cameras, or you will need to create a second profile with the 192.168.x.x address of the DVR.

Not very good Giving it 1 star because it only shows what's currently playing and will not allow to review past recordings. Unless you are constantly looking at it you can't see what occurred prior or what triggered an alarm. It also drains the phone battery very fast

Works great Looks like they removed the ads... An app you pay $500+ to use with shouldn't have ads. It works great. Fast frame rate, work everytime, good interface too. Not as good as IP Cam Viewer by Robert Chow This app works, but I found it had lots of connection failures. IP Cam Viewer was easier to set up, more reliable, better UI, no errors, has home screen widgets much clearer picture. I would only continue to use this app if the Dev fixed the connection errors and also added the ability to change settings on my DVR such as email, playback, record etc.

Connection issues down to ISP Update to my previous review: After much digging I discovered my connection issues were down to my ISP (O2 Ireland). They said "O2 blocks all device to device communication on consumer APNs (eg open.internet etc)." Since both my home and mobile broadband are by O2, the app will never work for me. Friends on other mobile networks had no problems viewing the stream on their smartphones with Swannview when I gave them the settings. Thanks also to the tech support guys in Maplins for their help on this one.
