Remote Media Center Live TV (v. 3.718) Разработано MyFrem |
Placeshift your Windows 7 Media Center channels*.
That means for example that - if you receive your local station (e.g. sports event) at home on your win7 Media Center - you can stream this live show to your android! Not confined by home or country!
Here's how to:
1. Setup your Remote Potato Server - it's a free download here: http://myfrem.nl/download.html. This is absolutely required to run this app.
2. Test the connection out for free: make sure it works with the free Remote Media Center (RMC) app, downloadable from google play.
3. If you are satisfied with step 2: Get Remote Media Center Live TV - and try first at home with low quality settings in this app!
Notes:
* RMC streams media which can consume lots of bandwidth - be sure you have a good data plan before you start using 3G and 4G connections to stream your video.
* The streaming - currently - typically, depending on your server, starts after a few minutes so has this delay with respect to the Real Time broadcast.
* Number of TV channels you can watch simultanuously is limited by the number of androids, free tuners and processing power you have!
* For best Live TV results, you need a fast android.
* DRM-protected content is not supported.
* See myfrem.nl/forum for discussion and FAQ.
* On google TV you can use ES File manager as a player.
* Do not use while driving or other activities that might become dangerous
This app has some more functionality than the freemium app (http://goo.gl/hWZ2P) which has an in-app unlock for live TV only.
[2012-12-27] A Google User: UI could use some Holo TLC..otherwise great... Dunno about Richards beef about "ten clicks" to schedule a recording in media center. LOL. Recorded TV-> add recording then select search or guide or whatever. I'm not aware of anything in MC that takes more than four clicks. Anyway, bought this to support then author. He let me mooch on the beta for quite a long time. If you guys have jerky video, it is likely a bug in the server. It's hard coded to 25fps. I have it patched on github in my fork of the project that correctly sets the frame rate. YMMV. |

[2012-12-10] A Google User: Great Product! Great Support! I never considered using Media Center until now. Microsoft includes too much bloat in the product (10 clicks to find out I am in the wrong menu and then I have to start over). Remote Media Center Live TV provides a streamlined interface for setting up recordings and also allows me to view the recordings from any of my Android devices! Well done! Thank you! One trick for me: Although I setup record folders in Media Center, Media Center insists on using its own default folder for storing videos. Remote Media Center Live TV must point to this same default folder if you want to watch a remote live video. This is very simple to do. If you do not do this, you will be confused and frustrated. Horray for great software solutions! |

[2012-11-21] A Google User: Worth every penny Solid app and most used app on my device. The Live TV takes a while to come up, but looks and runs great in highest quality when it does. When I made the move to Windows 8 :-( everything stopped working, but I asked the author about it and I got an immediate response, and the Windows 8 beta fix was posted only a few days later. |

[2012-11-11] A Google User: Waste-of-money Crashes when watching tv and remote control doesn't work on jellybean. Developer doesn't respond to email. Dont waste your money. |

[2012-10-04] A Google User: excellent app!! Not sure if you heard of the app called remoteceton. It allows u to stream the tuner feed through the web. Also project is known as cetontv. This was geared towards integration with xbmc but works great through web as well. Seems similar to what u are trying to accomplish here with live tv. Any way to integrate this into your app/ remote potato web gui? |
[2012-10-03] A Google User: Good Lots of improvements. Video is great but program is protecting the rmclive file and it cant be deleted |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Remote doesn't work at all Newest server ver. |
[2012-09-30] A Google User: Great! A rather heavy battery hog, but the live TV works, even with HD channels pulled from a cablecard. |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Sweetness Fantastic app |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Bullsh.. By any other name What a load of crap. Couldnt removeit fast enough. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Can be better I use WinTV often to remotely view live broadcast on my devices. I am surprised that the transcoding cannot be done faster. I do like the fact that I can view live from EPG. Improve transcoding time on the live TV and the rating will increase. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: This app WTF OWNS w/ WMC |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Love it Buggy and live TV not great quality, but great compliment to windows media center |
[2012-09-21] A Google User: For $5 I was hoping for more. When Live TV works its nice. But the ease to do it is not. It would be nice if 1) the guide loaded quickly, then 2) you could watch from there. I was waay more happy with the free version... that could change... Edit: can watch live from EPG! Nice! |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Cannot delete the RMCLive TV file Hello, How can I delete the RMC file that live tv creates on your PC? I cannot delete it from my phone, it would really be bad news if I loaded up my computer will alot of files while on vacation and could not delete them until I got home |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Great app. Please bring back the real looking remote control. |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Great app I have been waiting for a long time for an app that would allow me to watch the Ceton Infinitv tuners remotely. Wonderful to finally have this. It works ok on my 4G network. It is great on my WiFi at home. There is some delay after starting recording, but when it does start to play it begins from the point in the program where you first told it play from. Not a big deal to me. |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Very nice Works well. I liked the short lived orange line icons. Would like to see as an option. |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Not live TV Live TV is Live. Not 5 mins after you want to watch it. This app shouldn't be called that. Setup is monotonous and ignores the settings you already put in for the other program. |
[2012-09-18] A Google User: Happy to donate Love the program. LiveTV could use improvement but it works. Not happy with the new menu...looks like a child drew the icons. Also would like option to use old remote back....I'll probably get used to it. Awesome and worth the money overall |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Great but needs work Massive potential and works fine... Just slow to start. I'm happy to donate $5 to development but really that's all the purchase would be for now. |
[2012-09-15] A Google User: Thanks! Great to be able to shout you a couple of dollars for the hard work that's gone into this app. |
[2012-09-13] A Google User: Love it! Works great! |
[2012-09-13] A Google User: Live tv works woohoooooo Thanks your product is very good. Works all the time with my win 7 mce. The dual core processor I had worked and quality a little choppy. But my new quad processor mce computer sends highest quality to my mobile devices. Awesome... |
[2012-09-12] A Google User: Remote Media Center Now Even Better WOW, I always thought the free version was awesome,. Now this version adds Live TV wherever I am. I must admit that there is a delay of a few minutes, before streaming starts. But once I have it running on my phone or tablet (even over 4G in high quality), there is only occasionally a small glitch (a flash of a grey screen), but overall it is impressive that I now can watch my favorite local news channel even when I'm not at home. The developer is also very responsive to questions. |
