Popeye first appeared as a comic strip in 1929 and the cartoons soon followed.
To this day he is known as the loveable spinach guzzling hero with super strength.Other characters are his arch rival Bluto, they both compete for the affections of Olive Oyl and last but not least Swee'pea-his adopted child.
