[2013-01-04] A Google User: Simple and works Unlike many other DNLA apps for Android, this one is extremely easy to use and doesn't have unneeded functionality. It really shouldn't require permission to "read phone status and identity" though, and in my experience it fails to stop the display from going to sleep while I'm watching a video. |
[2012-12-15] A Google User: Wow! a complete DLNA app for my media player Apps like these help Android give a slap on the face of Apple. Who said Airplay is the best thing to happen in home entertainment. Try this app. You'll need an android media player to take full advantage of this app. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: The Best I've Tested This simply works far better than any other. It finds and connects to all my media servers. Displays media lists in the blink of an eye and streams huge videos with no issues. Well engineered software. |

[2012-12-04] A Google User: Good app, works as said. I have a Samsung All share application installed on my laptop. Homedia allows me to play all files shared on it using native player and third party player for unsupported formats. |
[2012-12-03] A Google User: Nice Fast, accurate streaming/pushing of media. |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Works well. For some reason the downloaded mp3 files from local server all have '.mpga' as extension. Otherwise nice app. - Galaxy S3, JB 4.1.1 |
[2012-11-11] A Google User: Average No shuffle :'( otherwise good player |
[2012-11-10] A Google User: Poor Didn't play the very first video I selected. Uninstall. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Very well executed Simple and easy to use, works well on my nexus s. A nice to have would be to allow sweeping left and right (e.g. when browsing pictures) instead of the left and right buttons. A very good product nonetheless. |

[2012-10-12] A Google User: Minor niggle needs sorting before its perfect... Small request. This app always defaults to the stock media player on my phone which displays the annoying message that file format is not supported. despite choosing an alternative player which is known to play the file, so in that instance can you remove the annoying file format is not supported message? Apart from that issue, the app is perfect - if you can sort that minor issue I shall rescore this app to five stars. Thank you developers !!! |
[2012-09-04] A Google User: Will be the best if... Any chance for an update to remove the settings bar (with the three dots) on the htc one x? Due to this, videos don't fill the screen. Has been the easiest network streaming app to use so far!! |
[2012-09-03] A Google User: Very Limited No playlist function that I can find, for example. |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Great but raw Works fine and this is the most important, but it need function to play background like Bubble UPNP and UI improvements. |
[2012-08-30] A Google User: Hey.. This is cool! |
[2012-08-09] A Google User: it played small sized videos from camera ok When I tested the music from my computer it worked good. There's an option to use different speakers which I thought was cool but the only device that shows up is the tablet that the music is streaming from anyways ...I got kinda excited thinking I could tell it to play on a different device on my network -oh well. When trying to play movies I have on my computer it took a minute or so to start but when it did start it was just rubbish BUT after about a couple minutes of trying to play I got an error message that said it can't play the video and when I clicked ok a list of my video players on my tablet showed up and when I had it play on a different player it worked pretty good. You just have to be patient and hope that you get an option to play it in a different player in order for longer movies to work. It doesn't work with my dlna bluray, it doesn't show up at all (which is the reason I downloaded this) but my directv box does which is pointless cuz you can't play your movies saved on your dvr anyways. I was really hoping this was like a basic version of iMedia Share but I was wrong but if you're lookin for a way to stream vids & mp3 from your PC it seems fine for that. |
[2012-08-06] A Google User: doesn't work I have an LG blueray player. No videos on my phone play using this app. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Perfection Streams shared media flawlessly |
[2012-07-27] A Google User: Doesnt work Cant play media |
[2012-07-12] A Google User: Had hopes for it... but it couldn't find my mediatomb server at all. Ah well. |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Finally! A useful DLNA player! I have been trying other DLNA players and most either don't work, appear free but are really paid, or don't seem to function very nicely. However, this one works great. It plays my m4v's made with Handbrake wonderfully ... even displaying DVD art and episode thumbnails! Exactly what I needed. It also found my DLNA server SUPER fast. In the description it says it has problems with PS3 media server... but it seems to work great with Plex. It gives the full desktop experience ... exactly what I was hoping for! |
[2012-06-18] A Google User: Awesome Exactly what I've been looking for, finally a dlna that works good. |
[2012-06-18] A Google User: Great stuff Intuitive and easy to use |
[2012-05-13] A Google User: A DLNA CONTROL APP THAT FINALLY WORKS After a long long search finally found an app that helps me to replace a remote. Plays from media server to DLNA renderer or to local. Smooth interface. Could use more controls of remote playback such as volume control, rewind, skip, subtitles..or whatever controls would a rendered take. Anyways app is SUPERB!! |
[2012-04-30] A Google User: Failed to work with rygel for me |
[2012-04-24] A Google User: It' great! This is best application for sharing media with wi-fi network. Doesn't work in background |
[2012-04-22] A Google User: Media server fail Unable to pick up media server funtionality on ps3 |
[2012-04-13] A Google User: HTC One X Netgear ReadyNAS NV+ v2. Worked as expected. 1st DLNA app I found to work with videos as well as music. |
[2012-04-06] A Google User: Bad Cant see notwork drives crap |
[2012-04-02] A Google User: Fantastic Used to use imediashare but it didn't support .wav audio files, but this app does. Love it great! |
[2012-03-29] A Google User: Bang Crashes easily, author needs to learn error catching. |
[2012-03-27] A Google User: Good, not great I tried many similar apps on my galixy 10.1 and this is the only that is decent. It will let me play music and video on my tablet, win7 PC and Xbox 360. All work great except for with the Xbox it has some glitches. It will some times give errors in the app even though the media is playing fine. Also it seems to never have play times in sync. However all in all it has great interface and works much better than the rest. |
[2012-03-26] A Google User: Works Great On Lenovo K1 This plays all my movies, pictures, and music. I tried at least 4 different apps and none of them would play all my media. Finds server quick and does exactly what I want it to do. Thanks |
[2012-03-21] A Google User: Sorry Didn't work on Sony bravia |
[2012-03-02] A Google User: Ok but needs work Finds my Serviio server, plays audio ok but mixed results with video - some movies just resulted in a buffering message and then a force close, but those it handed over to an external player worked OK. Had more stable results with other DLNA apps |
[2012-03-02] A Google User: Cracking app Works really well on ICS on Asus Transformer. |
[2012-02-28] A Google User: Works well with a Readynas duo took a few attempts to discover over wifi but then works great. As above |
[2012-02-27] A Google User: Works ad promised Well done. A file sharer that works easy |
[2012-02-26] A Google User: Promising, not quite there yet... Galaxy Tab 10.1. HC 3.2. I like the interface, browsing DLNA sources is quick and intuitive (TVersity on Windows). However the video player lets it down. Although it prompts for an external media player after a failed attempt at playing a video, an option to default to a particular (external) media player would be welcome. |
[2012-02-18] A Google User: Why arnt there any dlna music players that will just play contents of a folder!! |
[2012-02-14] A Google User: App works Perfect!!! Downloaded to Galaxy 10.1 running HC 3.2 Setup MS Media player for sharing. Viola, it works. For AVI files, the player with HomeDia does not play it but it gives you the option to use another player. I use MX Viedo Player and the AVI plays. Easy to use, nice layout. |
[2012-02-11] A Google User: Use Tversity w/ this Pretty good app for streaming to your phone or tablet on a home wifi network. Personally tversity works for me. I threw AVI, WMV, MP4 ,MPEG, & MKV files at with no problems. Even the subs from anime on MKVs showed up so nice. Only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because there is no streaming on 3G and on some files it has to buffer a few seconds, hey its free and the ads Don't show when you watching a video. |
[2012-01-21] A Google User: Need some work to turn it better It can play my remote photo albums, but freezes when I'm trying to play MKV/H264 and as a DLNA Server, my TV LG LD650 didn't connect it. I'll keep copying my files to MiniDLNA running on Debian. |
[2012-01-05] A Google User: good concept won't play mp3, mpeg 4, avi, or wma on galaxy s2, strange as I was watching a video on my dlna TV from the same PC. stopped playing to fully test phone - to PC connection, it reads files folders and says buffering but no go. maybe a file authorisation issue but no options to play, app even offers to play using phones native video app. sorry no 5 stars this time, 2 stars as it will connect and search files. |
[2012-01-02] A Google User: Works great! Even though video format support is very limited on Android, this will play all MP4 and some ms-video formats. I especially like the slideshow function when viewing pictures. (I use Twonky as a media server) |
[2012-01-02] A Google User: One of the best in media streaming app. Fantastic! Makes it so simple to use. Love the simple and clean interface. Great job dev!! thank you |
[2011-12-18] A Google User: Great concept I wish this would work, but none of my videos would play. maybe xvid is just not supported. oh well, try again later...maybe. Otherwise, great app; nice and clean interface and simple to use. |
[2011-12-03] A Google User: Simple streaming I love being able to walk into my friends' homes and start wirelessly streaming holiday photos from my phone to their televisions right away and without hassle. |
[2011-11-27] A Google User: Getting there Plays movies/pics/music fine from PS3 Media Server but PS3 won't find phone as a media server. EVO4G |
[2011-11-15] A Google User: Okish Works for audio. Does not do video, tried mkv and mp4. Will change sets in server c if it helps. |
