[2013-01-19] A Google User: Nexus S Aspect ratio button doesn't do anything. Every video are stretched. |
[2013-01-19] A Google User: Great app Use this all the time to watch movies on my phone, works great! |
[2013-01-18] A Google User: Awesome app! Really love this app, was using it on my iPod Touch before and it's awesome to have it on an android phone :) One problem though - the video ratio button does nothing, the video is fullscreen no matter the setting. Five start once fixed :) |
[2013-01-15] A Google User: Never lets me down Just love this app. I use it all the time and it never fails to work as advertised. |
[2013-01-08] A Google User: Brief problems on windows 8 Might be because I'm sick, or on Windows 8, but my videos don't show up "looks like an empty folder" *Edit* On windows 8 it cannot stream through users i guess?, wouldnt work at all until i put my folder directly on the C drive. That was annoying so you lose a star, but still great none the less. |
[2013-01-04] A Google User: Was great, now is pretty much unusable I bought the app for my Nexus 7 since I had tested the free version on my Nexus S and loved it. Now there are a couple of problems with it: - Bugged aspect ratio - set to strech (can't change it, which pretty much makes everything unwatchable) - Lag / video glitching out when playing x264 Tried everything to fix those issues to no avail, so for now I've switched over to Qloud Media which works fine. Hope the dev will patch those issues cause this used to be a great app'. |
[2013-01-01] A Google User: OK but I suffer with low volume when streaming a movie on the nexus 7, hope it gets fixed soon. |
[2012-12-26] A Google User: Very good app I was looking for streaming app like this. Ther is no lagging when media get streamed from PC. Quality is acceptable, considering that stream gets delivered over wifi. |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Great app easy to use works well |
[2012-12-25] A Google User: Awesome app I tried several other apps and this one worked the best. Easily worth the money for how easy it is to setup and use. |
[2012-12-20] A Google User: Excellent Works great on my (International) Galaxy Note - nice to see movies on the "big screen" :):) |
[2012-12-13] A Google User: This is strong technology. |
[2012-12-11] A Google User: Has become very stable last few months. Most audio files don't work when selected at first. Emit tries to play them, but gives up and sometimes crashes. Sometimes, it'll skip the song and play the first song in the folder. Extremely annoying. Its the only thing that's bugging me. App is really best for network streaming otherwise. |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Great Concept I'm currently using a Samsung galaxy note 2 over 4g with a more than capable machine and highest tiered Internet connection and no matter what I try I'm getting random starts and stops. Hopefully this is fixed in the next release fingers crossed! |
[2012-12-07] A Google User: Reliable and we'll laid out Great for media streaming. Definitely my favorite and most used app. I've tried other like vlc but none compare to emit. Note: Aspect ratio button doesn't work |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Streamlined app for streaming video A lot simpler than streaming from VLC, I have found. I just don't like how the aspect ratio on most of the videos I stream are stretched to fit my display. I'd much rather have black bars and a proper image than a full screen and stretched faces. Might be a Nexus 7 thing. Full screen toggle doesn't fix this. Would have been 5 stars otherwise. |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Worth every penny Beats big brand name apps like Plex by a huge margin. Interface could use a lot of polishing though. Something that utilizes the Android 4.0+ design theme would be great. |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Awesome This app keeps getting better and better with prompt developer responses and strong responses from the dev community such as xda |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: Great app but little buggy This app is great... After the seekbar problem is minimized... now the aspect ratio settings. Suddenly it doesn't work at all.. but except that, i got no complains.. |
[2012-12-06] A Google User: No hassle! Installed app; software and shared my media drive on my PC. Works great! |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: Good But needs aspect ratio setting :-) |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: WHERE ARE THE THUMBNAILS?? Add bloody thumbnails! You have updated this app a thousant times since i have written my previous review and talked about thumbnails and after so long a simple feature like that is not yet added. Sorry but pathetic! |
[2012-12-05] A Google User: Love this app Love this app. I tried few other app that do have the same functionality as Emit, and this app is superior than the others. It worth the money for this. I want to make an suggestion that I was hoping to see in Emit, I would love for 30 sec skip button since I used Emit to stream video to my phone a lot |
[2012-12-01] A Google User: Fantastic Love this app. Job well done. |
[2012-11-26] A Google User: Works great! All my devices are supported just fine, and video playback is acceptable even on 3G. The only thing thus doesn't have is thumbnails. |
[2012-11-23] A Google User: Terrible Broken app On Nexus 7 running Android 4.2. This app is broken. It can't locate local servers automatically, and when you add one manually and try to connect to it the app Crashes! Total waste of money, do not buy this crap! |
[2012-11-16] A Google User: Works great Works great but needs to support special characters on subtitles, such as accents on letters. |
[2012-11-15] A Google User: Excellent App, ONE Flaw I would redact my 3 star rating and immediately rate this a 5 star app if the icon wasn't so ridiculously small. I know this seems stupid. It might be. But coming from iOS, I really miss the uniformity in simple things... like icon sizes. It just looks really silly lined up next to other icons on my home screen. The developer seems active and I'm sure this isn't too difficult. Hopefully they find time soon! Otherwise excellent app from a functionality standpoint. |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Fantastic but can improve I love the simplicity of this but there is room for improvement: When downloading videos for offline watching after downloading the first one then try to download another I tend to get a bug that force closes Emit. Rather annoying to say the least. Second, it'd be really cool if you could set entire folders of videos to download for offline instead of clicking each one, but obviously the bug above would need fixing first. One last suggestion - please make the borders around subtitle text thicker! Thanks |
[2012-11-06] A Google User: VIDEO_TS FOLDER ALWAYS EMPTY This app does not work properly if your files are on a Nas.Contacted support twice never get any replies? As a former Iphone owner very disapointed with Android apps in general. Many seem like poor quality versions of ios equivalent.Like this app. |
[2012-11-03] A Google User: Awesome app. Works well on my GNex and Nexus 7. Takes a while to pick up all the files on your PC but once it's done, it streams it fine. It even recognizes subtitle files. Pretty neat. Every video I've tried, streams well. Haven't run into any files I couldn't stream. I haven't tried music though. For suggestions, I would like to see is a UI that utilizes the android guidelines for 4.x. (ICS, JB). Also better menu design and faster streaming. Other than that, great job, dev. |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Works great Use it a lot |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Great app / Ótima app Works great even in a Samsung Galaxy Mini. Some bugs regarding special characters and the automatic protocol selection (you have to force using rtsp). But as pointed below, the dev team is very responsive and should tackle these issues soon. Thanks for this app. |
[2012-10-26] A Google User: Server not available Great app however, always have to restart the server every two days. Suckyss |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Awsome Program! I use this on a galaxy tab 10.1 -- Just make sure your server has enough juice to stream the video. My intel i5 only used 10% cpu and the video was awesome, but my netbook with a dual core atom, maxed out both processors at 100% and the video sucked. |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Second review This application is getting better and better. Works great on my a500 and G Nexus. Dev is very responsive to suggestions and support. Definite recommend especially for data network streaming your home shares. So much easier than Tversity for mobile streaming. Great app peeps just have to take time to match video specs to their device/network capabilities and I recommend using rtsp stream protocol. Smoothed everything out for me. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Lag. The picture becomes jittery even with good wifi connection, and the audio will easily lag no matter what option. Main reason I picked this app out was because of the capability to play subtitles as well. Please fix soon. LG Thrill |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: Just works This is first solution that just works without a hitch! Galaxy s3 verizon |
[2012-10-13] A Google User: ICS broke my heart Was using paid version on GB and this app was fantastic, 5 stars all the way, have just done OTA to ICS and it is now unusable; picture is jittery and audio lags, no matter what setting is on. Liked this app so much I went from free to paid, was looking forward to using on a big trip away.... please fix, I see from other comments I'm not the only one, surely you're working on it... please tell me you're working on it. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Finally It finally work on my Nexus 7.Changed from 2 stars to 5 stars. |
[2012-10-06] A Google User: Good job guys Love it as it works great from Linux. Keep up the good work |
[2012-10-02] A Google User: Love this app Works perfectly, well worth the money. Using a Mac and Galaxy S3. |
[2012-10-01] A Google User: Great! Love this app. It would be nice if there were sorting options, especially for Last Modified. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Not working in CM10 Freezes whole phone |
[2012-09-23] A Google User: Love this app but i have one request! Love the simplicity of this app and that it actually works. However when using HDMI or an MHL-adapter the picture doesn't go fullscreen on the TV. |
[2012-09-23] A Google User: Playlists? Hi, love the app, it is very easy to use. I can't seem to find any playlist functionality, do I really need to choose the next video when the last finishes every time? I'd really like to be able to set it up to play an entire season automatically. Really hope to see this in a future version. Thanks. |
[2012-09-20] A Google User: Fantastic program This program is amazing. It works exactly as its suppose to and I never have problems. Highly recommend. |
[2012-09-19] A Google User: Emit Great app. |
[2012-09-14] A Google User: Great app This works really well. But I would really like it if you guys could add in a sort by date downloaded/created feature so those of us with huge video collections can just view the most recent files loaded. Thanks! |
[2012-09-09] A Google User: Great App. Needs better sound control Great app on usability' interface' and ease of use. Some movies have low sound levels and can be barely audible with the emit player. It'd be great if you added sound level booster controls like vlc. |
[2012-09-07] A Google User: Superlative This is the BEST app out there for streaming video from one's computer to their Android device! The interface is simple and intuitive, and it really is a pleasure to use. Initially, I had a problem with the scroll bar on my timeline not functioning correctly, so I emailed the developer. Literally, within minutes he responded and guided me on how to correct the problem. Using this app really brings a smile to my face and I would easily pay 3 times the current price to own it. Thank you, Sergej! |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Awesome I installed the free version and was immediately impressed with the easy setup, super-fast and high-quality playback and wide compatibility. This replaces the two-app setup I was using previously and works so much better. (Note: I have not used the external streaming capabilities as all I really wanted was to stream over my local network.) |
[2012-09-06] A Google User: Great app Have this installed on both my android and iPad it's the best app I've found for streaming over 3g and believe me I've tried loads of them |
[2012-08-29] A Google User: Exactly what I wanted I've been looking for a media streaming service as easy as streamtome on iPad, and now I found it. Can't wait till I get my nexus 7 just for this app! |
[2012-08-26] A Google User: Great video streaming The video sreaming is smooth and works brilliantly, and that's why I give it a four star. The audio player however, is very basic. Would love to have ability to repeat a single song, or all songs in a folder, or peehaps play songs randomly. |
[2012-08-23] A Google User: Very Good Love this app ALOT! nothing else on play store can match it. |
[2012-08-21] A Google User: Easy setup and good playback The program is great though it is dependant on your PCs CPU and your devices internet connection. It can be tweaked to work with poor bandwidth by lowering video quality. On 4g and wifi hd video plays well. The player could use a volume boost. There is already a volume boost on the emit website player. |
[2012-08-19] A Google User: Please add search Search would make this 5 star. |
[2012-08-18] A Google User: The smoothest streamer I was looking for something equivalent to Air Video on iPhone. This is it. Works as advertised and is very stable. Gladly bought the paid version. |
[2012-08-17] A Google User: This is a must have android app for those that want to stream your movies |
[2012-08-16] A Google User: Almost perfect Just needs a volume boost. |
[2012-08-16] A Google User: Great app I've switched from an iPad to the Galaxy 10.1 and can honestly say this app is just as good as any rival on the old device. Easy to set up and quick to get started. All the frequent updates and improvements are a bonus. |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Great App! |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Excellent |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Excellent Does what it says on the tin |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: Dev support brilliant. The app works well, the dev really does listen to the feedback and implements it quickly and efficiently. I wish all developers were like this! Would definitely recommend this, its brilliant, so convenient and easy to use. And very reliable, it just works, unlike every other streaming app that just works if you're lucky. |
[2012-08-15] A Google User: After photo issue was fixed, this app is perfect! I love this app it does pretty much everything I wanted it to do out of the box, the developer is amazing as well. Listened to the reviewers issues with the photos not loading and fixed it, makes paying for the app all the more worth it. If you need to stream media from your computer to your droid device, get this app. It works like it's suppose to and is easy to set up, five stars for a amazing app and developer feedback. |
[2012-08-14] A Google User: Does what it says Its great, not crashing 24/7 like most apps that advertise for this. Recommended. |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Beyond Amazing! I've been a video streaming app hunter for Android since the past year after switching from iOS to Android. I've enjoyed Air Video so much that if I was losing a part of my enjoyment of a phone when moving away from it. But after finding Emit, I felt great! I hate storing media data on my phone. I prefer to leave the space for photos I take and music. I've been meaning to switch back to iOS for some reason but, Emit alone made me stay with Android because of this awesome bug-less app that's identical to Air Video and a great feature that Air Video doesn't have, play online. Just for these two simple features, I've purchased this app and I'm thankful for being a customer of this developer(s). Thank you for the awesome app! |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Perfect Best streaming software for Android...hands down! |
[2012-08-08] A Google User: Ten times better than Plex Plex is a decent app, but it's just so complex and buggy. This app is amazing; it plays everything, and it's just instant. Incredible. |
[2012-08-05] A Google User: Great stuff Super easy to setup and use. Only thing that doesn't work too well is fast-forwarding. Best streaming app for Android for sure. On a Nexus 7. |
[2012-08-04] A Google User: Can't load photos. Superb app, does exactly what is advertised and is simple to use but like others I can't load photos with the paid version, this feature works fine with the free version though. I'd give 5 stars if this was fixed. The only other thing is that I had to set the server manually as it wouldn't detect but it was no big deal. Very good app though, highly recommended. |
[2012-08-04] A Google User: Nexus 7 - It justs works Compared to Plex, Skifta and trying to configure VLC, this app just works. You install it on your desktop, select what folders you want to stream, generate a web accessible server, it generates a pin and you set a password (for increased security), I downloaded the app on my Nexus 7, entered my servers pin address, password and bam. Access to all my media... IT JUST WORKS. 5/5 |
[2012-08-04] A Google User: extremely pleased. This app left me at loss for words, it runs beautifully. My desktop with its Intel core 2 quad has no issues with decoding and sending ANY video I have to my phone. What's even more awesome is my phone can't play full 1080p with bluray format (HTC rezound), and now I can! If I could, I'd pay $10+ for this app, good work! |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Awesome app Easy to set up, runs great. Running server program on Windows Home Server 2011 64 bit. Client on multiple devices. Desire Z (T-mobile G2), iPhone 4, Samsung Galaxy S2, and MyTouch 4G. |
[2012-08-02] A Google User: Great App It gets better with each update. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a volume boost/normalize in a future update... |
[2012-08-01] A Google User: Awesome app This app works brilliant, easy to install and setup on PC and mobile devices. It works well with my Samsung Galaxy S2 (ICS) and Nexus 7 (JB) I would recommend it to anyone. |
[2012-07-31] A Google User: Just what my new tablet needed! |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Hidden Gem This is somehow a secret that no one seems to know about. Amazingly smooth and quick. |
[2012-07-30] A Google User: Works very well! |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Spectacular. Downloaded the free version to test it out.... as soon as I got it set up and played with it... I had to buy this version. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Stopped working after update to ICS Droid Razr Maxx - Would give 6 stars if I could get it to work after updating to ICS. Worked awesome on Gingerbread and used it daily. Tried different steaming protocols. Will stream music but no video both server and phone client are at the newest version. :( Hopefully a fix coming soon. |
[2012-07-26] A Google User: Brilliant. Works perfectly. Highly recommended! |
[2012-07-24] A Google User: Awesome Thank you for this. Works awesome on my galaxy nexus and nexus 7 and over 4g |
[2012-07-23] A Google User: Good Start Note quite as smooth as I remember AirPlay being on my (long since gone) iPhone, but a good start. Would be nice if the user interface was a bit more tablet friendly. Video often starts playing in a daft aspect ratio (tall/thin), should default to aspect of source material. Plays .WTV (Win7 MC) fine, but does not allow seek/skip. Sometimes video dissapears (UI visible, but no video) tapping screen brings it back again. Bought it anyway to encourage further dev! Tried this on Nexus 7 (4.1x) and Galaxy Note (4.04). Video's transcoded to MP4 will allow one to seek to a specific location, but this takes a while! |
[2012-07-22] A Google User: Good solution Requesting Holo style theme |
[2012-07-16] A Google User: Really good. Works great for streaming stuff from Windows 7 to my TF 201, which is plugged into the tv. |
[2012-07-03] A Google User: Wonderful Plays everything that I can throw at it. Happy to pay for this. |
[2012-06-29] A Google User: Streams like a dream If you have a well-arranged filing system for your media then this little client/server apply will quickly give you all the access that you need to your videos. |
[2012-06-21] A Google User: Server Unavailable...always. This would be a great app but for the fact that the server is never available. It worked pretty well for the first few minutes but since then the server ie my pc will not link to my Asus TF 101. Fix please |
[2012-06-05] A Google User: Great tool it is a great tool. I just hope that it work a little bit faster over 4 g. |
[2012-05-26] A Google User: Works well Can't say they didn't have an excellent model to copy though (iOS' AirVideo was out long before this and functions the same way) |
[2012-05-23] A Google User: Excellent Easy to set up and works perfectly. |
[2012-05-20] A Google User: Works like a champ Streaming your home library is now a snap. Had some problem getting it to work initially but it was my vonage box mixing things up. Works great now. |
[2012-05-19] A Google User: Great for XOOM Wireless N + Xoom = goodness. This works great. You can bump the video quality up to high as well with a XOOM. After using the free version for a few hours, was ready to pay the couple bucks for this version. Seemlessly integrates subtitles also! |
[2012-05-13] A Google User: Works. It works most of the time with no issues. Sometimes I have to log out then back in on my pc to have it work right which kind of defeats the purpose of streaming away from your pc. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: generally good need more video format support |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: Best android video streamer Works well - is a great alternative to upnp bubble in ease of use and reliability. Just note that the server program uses 100% CPU, unless you change the protocol to rtsp (which is fine) |
[2012-05-08] A Google User: best best of the best! |
