Diceplayer is a HW accelerated Media player for android. It use HW video decoder at various containers and audio codecs combination.
Dual Core/High end devices ( Sensation , Galaxy S/S2 , Nexus-S ) can play 720p MKV/AVI.
Diceplayer drains less bettery than SW based players.
Honeycomb tablets can play 720p MKV with Full HW accelerations.
If you use CM7 or unofficial ROMs that can not play MKV using default player, Diceplayer is the best solution.

Crappy Advertising Uninstalled without hesitation after seeing the gigantic "buy me" bar at the top of the screen. It is already a 3 days trial so that bar was too much.

Hands-down, the best media player performance! It's just a shame that the full version disappeared from the Android Market once I discovered it. But this player will play anything you throw at it and it'll use hardware acceleration effectively to do so. If you've found a file that won't play (particularly one that will play the video sans audio), this is the program to use. Here's hoping that this is only a temporary hiccup and that the full version will reappear on the Market.

Super smooth mkv on A500 So far this is the ONLY player that plays 720p mkv videos smooth as silk, even over a network on the Acer Iconia A500. Hardware decoding is second to none.

Locks up my Samsung Vibrant I was able to install it and start playing a video. I then hit the speed control and since then all it does is lock up the phone. Even picking a file will lock up the phone. Rebooted several times, no change.

very good, but no AVC L4.1 on Desire HD yet. looks like a good player this. AVC code L3.1 play great, would love to see L4.1 working. latest release scales anamorphic content correctly, unlike alot of other players for android.

Decent, but... Only HC player so far which hides the status bar icons, so I bought it... And some .avi files play in HW mode while other simply won't, why? Audio is out of synch too, and I wish for a more honeycomb-friendly interface.

DEV ** This is excellent First A/V app I want to buy however..... Clicking on purchase from the market on my XOOM gives an error!! I've bought other apps but it wont let me buy the full version of dice :-( im stuck with a 3 day trial. Also there is no way of reviewing apps from the market app, I've had to use the web browser. Very frustrating ( Not blaming the dev but thought they would like to know). The trial version I'm stuck with is brilliant, even plays my 720 mkv files off my NAS via ES file explorer. Excellent app.

The real only one with real HW acceleration... Not the best player at all, as it far from the global sophisticated application, and the interface is awful... but the best engine and the only one what realy usable, and the method was my dream from the start of the Android. The only player what can handle itself real native HW acceleration on all phone and can combine it with own audio decoding, so with it you can play 1080p videos with DTS audio on Galay Tab 7" for example. It can handle HW video decoding on MIUI on M. Defy, or onSGS, with 720p also.

Good video / Average subtitles Using this on my Acer Iconia Honeycomb tablet. The video playback is wonderful, plays h264 mkvs beautifully. However, the subtitle rendering leaves much to be desired. While the subtitles definitely are readable (once you use the largest font size), the overpowering shadows and the lack of border/outline make them annoying to read. If the developer adds options to implement a medium-sized black subtitle outline and change the shadow depth, this would be the perfect video app for Android.

ONLY player on SGT to play MOV and AVCHD My Canon SX20IS makes MOV files in a container which is hard to play sometimes. My Canon HS200 plays AVCHD in an even harder container. Dice was the ONLY player to allow me to view those files on my Galaxy Tab. Two minor issues. Some jaggies in AVCHD and no looping/repeat option. I'm buying the full verson after I send this report!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 It is the only app I have seen so far that can play 720p MKVs on this tablet flawlessly. But I was unable to play any other files with it, like AVI or anything else. No sound, no video. 5 stars tho because of the unique MKV feature.
