****** Licensing troubleshooting: ******
- If after the purchase and installation of the app you get a license failure notification, this is because the purchase may take some time to be recorded on the Google license server. It will resolve within a few hours or you can try re-installing and restarting your device.
- If your download is declined, your credit card authorization will have failed. Please update your card details (usually the address doesn't match) and retry the purchase.
- If you get "Not compatible with your device" from the Market App, please try clearing your Market App Cache (Settings, Applications, Market, Clear Cache) and restarting your device.
- BSPlayer app uses Google's standard licensing service. Keep Wi-Fi or mobile data enabled at the the first run of application. Further internet connection will not be required. Also, for existing users having problems with licensing - you may try "Clear app data" function and run app with internet connection enabled. This should license your app.
If you are having any issues with licensing, please send us an email to sales@bsplayer.com and we will fix the issue.
This package includes support for ARMv7 with VFP and NEON. For other CPU types please download appropriate package. Application will notify you which package you need.
NOTE: When reporting error please add info about your smartphone brand and model. Also you can send us more detailed bug report on e-mail android@bsplayer.com. We are trying to improve the media player for the users and your feedback is highly appreciated.
* Hardware acceleration support depends on device video decoder capability. Hardware accelerated playback in portrait mode may be corrupted on some HTC models (eg. on HTC HD, it is a hardware issue). Also on some devices (Samsung galaxy S2) zoom/stretch may not work on all videos.
This video player uses code of FFmpeg licensed under the LGPLv2.1 and its source can be downloaded from BSPlayer website.
Dedicated support forum can be found here http://forum.bsplayer.com/bsplayer-android/.
[2013-08-30] A Google User: Can't update it anymore. Not going to update and lose Dolby support, but jackass made sure to break audio boost in last version to force us to update. So, either way I get the shaft. |
[2013-08-27] A Google User: Fahad Good |
[2013-08-26] A Google User: No AC3 No sound, no fun. Waiting and waiting for Dolby update and nothing. |
[2013-08-24] A Google User: Better than MX or vlc Works great on my cube u30gt2 when other players give my frame skipping. |
[2013-08-23] A Google User: 1 star because I'm rating this ap one star. Because on my TV I can select 2 channel or dolby. I'm sure you can find a way to do the same thing. Auto convert Dolby to 2 channel or something. |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: Audio sync Has audio sync. Love audio sync for those times when voice and video don't match. I paid for that function alone and it was worth it. Please add some type of auto volume leveling. I turn up movies to hear voices and then gunshots blow the headphones out of my ears. It's not your app, but the movies, but would love that feature! |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: Was the Best... Every video file I try to play uses Dolby. Ironically BSPlayer is the only player that can play the files smooth on a SGS2, but no audio. Hands down the best player, but hamstrung by Dolby. |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: Best player when the audio returns This is by far the best media player on android. As soon as the audio dispute is resolved I will rerate this 5 stars. |
[2013-08-19] A Google User: Great player,Dolby labs sucks I decided to support the devs by purchasing the app. My timing was terrible. The update to full functionality removed ac3 playback. Much like iOS apps before this, Dolby is doing as great job ruining your tablet audio support. So in the future, choose DTS. |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: It was a best player until last update. Now it does not play sound on most video files! |
[2013-08-17] A Google User: No dolby 1-star, dolby 5 stars This last update is disappointing. Lost dolby and this renders the app useless to me. And to make the matter worse, the older version with ac3 support plays only in sw mode. Please fix this licensing issue asap. |
[2013-08-12] A Google User: Awesome Well thanks for the info. They did say remove support for Dolby. Simply dont update till they sort it out.. I didnt update and it works like a charm |
[2013-08-11] A Google User: Too bad about greedy Dolby.... Not gonna update then. I just paid for this yesterday too. Still a great media app! |
[2013-08-08] A Google User: Gosh I do not update, because of dolby. Was removed the market link with titanium backup, but it's always come back after a time. |
[2013-08-05] A Google User: Galaxy note 2 Excellent app working great!!! |
[2013-08-05] A Google User: Works great Come on people, really gonna rate lower because Dolby is riding them? If your not having audio just wait till issues with licensing are fixed or convert the video and audio to a supported format. They can't help that Dolby is one to be strict on their licensing. |
[2013-08-04] A Google User: Love it Absolutely the best video player of all mobile OSs. I especially like SMB streaming, works flawlessly. Just a minor issue - if the SMB server is unavailable, and you were using it last time, it is very hard to return to the list of servers. Please, please - the app should return to the list of servers instead of leaving you in a non-existing directory without a way to go back. There is a workaround (switching to local view and back). But please - fix it, it's annoying. Also - the AC3 issue. -1 star unless it's fixed. |
[2013-08-04] A Google User: No sound Purchased the up leveled version... No sound on any title. 4.3 nexus 10. |
[2013-08-04] A Google User: Worth it Just waiting for the update :) |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Perfection BS Player is the most stable of all Android apps out. I can toss everything at it, and view it without lag [streaming video]. No studdering, or audio out of sync with video. BS=Best Show |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Works on 4.3 now - dolby Evrything except dolby support is working. Hopefully you guys sort it out soon. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: wtf have you done? used to be awesome. now lags and hardly works. fix it i paid for this! |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Great player, but........ was working fine untill the latest update. Last night I did a factory reset on my tablet. I was still using the previous version of the player as I wanted to keep the Dolby capabilities. Did the reset, rooted, reinstalled all of my apps, etc. Everthing was fine untill I fired up BS Player. In LAN mode, I can connect to my computer and see my shared folders, but when I try to open the folders I get a message box that reads "error connecting to share". Alll my other apps work fine. Since I did the reset, the ONLY thing that's different is the latest version of BS Player. It's a 5 star app, but for now I give it 4 because of this new problem. If it isn't fixed promptly, it becomes a 1 star app (which would be a shame as it's great when everything works as it should). ***UPDATE*** 8/3: Problem solved. Went to LAN mode, long press on my computer's IP address to get the edit box, gave it a display name: "My PC". BS Player is now back in action, and back to 5 stars. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Great viewer An excellent viewer, well be 5 out of 5 when the Dolby codec support is back in. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: Used to be instant buy, now totally useless! It was a fantastic application, but since the last update and with Android 4.3, it's pretty useless right now. I lost all sound and since upgrading to Android 4.3, my Nexus 7 is only playing the videos in SW mode. On 4.1.2 and then on all 4.2 updates, HW mode was working perfectly. It used to be a five star application, please fix it ASAP! Update: Android 4.3 problem fixed, Dolby support needs to be clarified. |
[2013-08-03] A Google User: SNT Sound is very weird with new update. Leveling volume and shortcut key for cycling/toggling audio have to be implemented. |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Best app This app is awesome Only issue since 4.3 update volume doesn't go more than 50% with headphones , could you please fix this |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Excellent |
[2013-08-01] A Google User: Great App! Perfect for streaming from my network drive. |
[2013-07-29] A Google User: Dolby license Dear Developer, When will this issue with Dolby be fixed? I think a lot of people are curious for it, so please keep your customers informed! |
[2013-07-27] A Google User: Crippled Totally not impressed with the recent (dolby related ) change. Great way to give the finger to your paying customers guys. |
[2013-07-26] A Google User: Awesome The only player for my Asus Transformer TF300T that handles anything you throw at it flawlessly fully utilising Tegra3 HW decoding. If you download movies this is perfect. Network streaming is perfect. No other solution on Android comes close. Well done BS Player team! Also, the paid version pre-amp is perfect for .mkvs with reduced volume. Can't praise this app highly enough. Other developers - this is how it should be done. UPDATE: Dropped from 5 stars to 2. App now crippled with no AC3 support. Check out other Android players. |
[2013-07-25] A Google User: Lost all sound How do I roll back to an older version? |
[2013-07-24] A Google User: Sound issue DO NOT UPDATE TO LATEST VERSION! Because they removed support for dolby sound you can only use this for some videos. Until it is resolved I am moving on to mxplayer |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Fantastic app Fantastic application however with the Dolby removal I'm not going to update. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: Excellent If you haven't bought this yet, do it now. The best video player on Android hands down. - Let me think should I do the update to remove dolby....... Uh, not going to happen Dolby, and I've kept a backup of the old version just in case. |
[2013-07-23] A Google User: AUDIOOOO Guys tnis is not seriouse. If you not put back AC3 and others audio formarts it is usless for my would ask for refund. I w t not only watch video want hear as well. Waiting for soon fix and back audio. Thanks. GUYS HOW TO DECREASE TO LOWER VERSION DONT WANT TO WASTE MY MONEY FOR MOVIES WITHOUT SOUND. PLEASE FIXED ASAP OR GIVE US CHOICE TO USE OLD ONE WITH SOUND |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: I guess I won't update this time I purchased this app only for the support of dolby. So this is a bummer, although I understand that your hands are probably tied |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: REQUEST URGENT Please ADD an option to the drop down list for "ADD TO FAVOURITES"So that a song or video is instantly added to a default fav list |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: The best Tried all of them. This is simply the best. |
[2013-07-19] A Google User: Bring back dts and dolby sound support |
[2013-07-12] A Google User: superb player i installed (and deinstalled) 14 other players in a long quest for a player that would do 1080p in various modern formats both smoothly and correctly -- no jerkiness, pauses, audio issues, distortion and so on. BSPlayer is the only one that did all this on my asus tf700t. i was so pleased with the free version, i kicked out the $ for the pay version to say thanks. it's unquestionably the best i found for this tablet. |
[2013-07-12] A Google User: Great but audio lags over Bluetooth This is a great video player but I've had to use MX Player Pro because I hate how the audio is out of sync when I'm listening using a Bluetooth headset. 2 more stars if this is fixed. |
[2013-07-08] A Google User: The most hassle-free player. Even the mighty MX player gave me headaches with hardware decoding and certain videos. BS simply works and is packed with features. My only qualm is that I can't access my network share. (error connecting to share--had to use ES Explorer for that.) |
[2013-07-06] A Google User: Great app Works well with my acer b1 |
[2013-07-03] A Google User: Audio stops working Video is running no audio. Starts out working. Always at the same spots in video. MX player works same video plays audio but doesn't allow for drift compensation. Bummer unhappy owner. |
[2013-06-26] A Google User: GREAT media streamer Loved it my motorolla xoom, love it even more on my new Sony Xperia Tablet Z. FAULTLESS WIFI streamimg of hidef movies over the home network. Simply brilliant. |
[2013-06-21] A Google User: Ugly theme on HTC devices White text on white background in tabs is really a bad idea. |
[2013-06-20] A Google User: Samsung Galaxy Note (icecream sandwich) Simply the best ! over the past year I've tried about 9 different video players they've came and they've gone, but one thing remains. My BSPlayer. There's just nothing better, it dose just what I need to stream all my video's movies and tv. Thanks ! Keep up the good work guy's, you've got a real winner here. |
[2013-06-18] A Google User: Incredible Probably the best app ever. |
[2013-06-15] A Google User: Superb!! |
[2013-06-13] A Google User: Feature request Please let us long press a folder to add it to a favorites list, both local folders and ones on various network hosts. That's the only frustrating issue right now, great work! |
[2013-06-09] A Google User: Problems I am having problems opening files from internal file browser. " 0 files added to queue" if i open the same files using an external file manager then there are no problems. There are no special characters in file names. Also i had problems opening shares from scan. If i add the shares manually then all is ok. |
[2013-06-08] A Google User: License Checking an issue This is by far the best video player i have ever used. The only issue i have is the constant license check it does when my device has had its wifi shut off for an extended period of time. This causes the video player to stop allowing playback and becomes useless. I work away from any wifi hotspots at a mine, so you can guess my frustration when i get some free time to watch a movie, and have this problem arise. Get rid of the licensing check, since i have clearly purchased this product, and i change rate |
[2013-06-05] A Google User: Perfect I tried all the other players, and BSPlayer won by playing smoothly files that the others played jerkily. |
[2013-06-04] A Google User: worked fine till update Resolved issue for some reason after update I had to clear the username and password fields in the settings |
[2013-06-04] A Google User: The best out there Nowhere near VLC on a Windows, but by far the best I´ve tried on Android. |
[2013-06-03] A Google User: Great player with improved licensing model Update: Great dev support. They listened and resolved my gripe with licensing very quickly. Thanks. This is the only player I use now. Previous: I'm using the paid for version and discovered the hard way that the licensing scheme is quite inflexible. My tablet had not been attached to the internet for a few weeks while travelling. At the start of a 12 hour flight, BS Media refused to start with the following error "Unable to validate license. Check if a network connection is available" Had to resort to a limited set of videos that I had transcoded earlier to work with stock android player. Was quite happy with this app until this licensing issue came up. Moving back to stock player until I find another player app. |
[2013-06-02] A Google User: Best video player out there Plays all the video formats I've tried. Love the on screen controls. Custom forward jump, back, brightness and volume. Once I found this one I stopped looking for another player. |
[2013-06-01] A Google User: It's definitely the smoothest player Runs all media good and smoother than others, might be because of their own renderer instead of using system like most.. |
[2013-06-01] A Google User: this is just as nice as MX Player Great media app. Love the automatic search and download subtitle feature. |
[2013-05-31] A Google User: Great player less of options At least there must be an option to jump frame by frame. Even option to convert the whole video to jpg must be addedy to cost that high price. I know about the screen shot future BsPlayer was always favorite because of it. But hunting with pause button is not so easy. How to play frame by frame to catch exactly what I need? Price is high enough to have at least that. |
[2013-05-30] A Google User: This really is a great app Dont sleep on this one. I live by BS player. |
[2013-05-30] A Google User: Excellent So far all good |
[2013-05-30] A Google User: Dev responds to issues. Very good player. Dev responds to requests for improvements. Can't say better than that |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Love it. |
[2013-05-29] A Google User: Good player for all files |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Very good No problems |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Perfect Works perfectly on Nexus 4. |
[2013-05-28] A Google User: Samsung s4 After the las update won't play any video...it plays 1-3 sec then freeze....please fix it. |
[2013-05-27] A Google User: Χρειάζεται συνεχείς ενεργοποιήσεις Απαράδεκτο!! Έχω χάσει το άθροισμα των ενεργοποιήσεων το τελευταίο εξάμηνο. Needs activatiοn over and over every10 days @#%& |
[2013-05-27] A Google User: Best media player app It's Snappy, plays every codec, great sound options. Great app all around. |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Excellent Has always played whatever I needed it to with good audio quality and video. Cudos to the dev! |
[2013-05-20] A Google User: BS player Really cool.I love it. |
[2013-05-19] A Google User: Great media player Great app, highly recommended. |
[2013-05-11] A Google User: LG Esteem Plays very slow, use to work fine for all files |
[2013-05-11] A Google User: works great on imito mx2 with finless 1.7a as long as you enable hardware frame dropping and large precaching - no more skipping on hd network streams! |
[2013-05-10] A Google User: Horrible update, won't work on ASUS TF300 anymore The best video player on Google play is now the worst. This app was working like a champ on my Tegra3 tablet an now it can't play a thing. Keeps looping in an error to play a video. PLEASE REVERT BACK TO A WORKING VERSION!!! |
[2013-05-07] A Google User: Issues The application was better before, crashes often when im in LAN-mode and navigating through folders.. |
[2013-05-06] A Google User: Was good Now all I get is a black screen & constant freeze ups. I feel ripped off. Mx player works for the same files. I guess I will have to buy another one. |
[2013-05-04] A Google User: 1eth Best droid player...... but!! license check is a pain, it always does it when i'm on holiday or away on a trip and I can't watch anything. Most annoying when i've been a good boy and paid in the first place. Add a license check button with 28 day cycle and 14 day recheck period before player disabled? Back to 5 stars when fixed!!!! |
[2013-05-02] A Google User: It would be the best Player if issues were fixed. Was very good player until the message poped up "BsPlayer has crashed".Now on every single time I launch BsPlayer get that message.Player iself still working ok but is annoying with that message. The only way to get rid of the message is to unninstal and reinstall the player.Very annoying please fix it. |
[2013-05-02] A Google User: Been crashing lately..at startup Otherwise awesome...but I do agree about the unfortunate licensing model |
[2013-04-27] A Google User: Could not install Unlike free version, pro cannot be installed. Constantly getting an error "could not install into memory or sd card". Card was checked. Do something |
[2013-04-26] A Google User: Navbar overlap The navbar overlaps the onscreen buttons on apex/aokp. |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: Licence check problems As many others have stated, it randomly asks for an internet connection weeks after being used. Terrible. |
[2013-04-25] A Google User: Requires a network connection Bought this to use on the plane. Tested it before boarding, worked fine. Power off the tablet to board and when I powered the tablet back on it needed a network connection for licensing. I couldn't use it on the plane. Absolutely useless app. I had to use a different player that I luckily had installed (one that doesn't need a network connection to work). Wish I could give 0 stars, just tried again and the licensing is still crap. |
[2013-04-24] A Google User: SimCity like DRM Plays many files but if for some reason it can't play in hardware mode the content is unplayable. Also if you have any interruption in your cell service it will stop your content... Happens usually with less then 4 bars of 4G. |
[2013-04-22] A Google User: This application works simply and flawlessly After trying ~7 different apps, this is the only one I've found that works properly on both an Acer 500 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 |
[2013-04-18] A Google User: Nice and smooth. Plays everything cool. |
[2013-04-17] A Google User: The best player Can do SMB, subtitle search, and lots of format compatibility.. what else i could ask ? |
[2013-04-16] A Google User: Update broke iso support What happened? This thing was awesome before last update. It would play DVD iso's perfectly. It used to be the only player that would, and was the only reason I purchased. Now it just closes when i try to play iso's. Please fix and I would rate it 6 if I could. |
[2013-04-14] A Google User: Awesome Quick, plays network share videos, just what I wanted! |
[2013-04-09] A Google User: SMB and Subtitles Tried a few players in the market and settled on this one. It plays most (not all) 1080p mkv files from a SMB share smoothly on the Nexus 10. 720p and below work good on my Note 2. One of the better interfaces I've seen. Love the way it auto downloads subtitles too. |
[2013-04-07] A Google User: Try using on a plane It won't run... Because it can't check license... I uninstalled so the native android player would run The thing runs great when I can stream Netflix, or watch something on Hulu, so what's the point? I like to pay to support developers, but with this stay with the free version! Save your money.. |
[2013-03-28] A Google User: ok Says my copy is an unregistered version whenever I try to use it without an internet connection. |
[2013-03-24] A Google User: Great Hell even plays compressed .rar files when only partially downloaded. |
[2013-03-23] A Google User: Stretches Vids to FUll Screen Well, i've titled this to highlight the best feature i couldn't find a solution to after moving from The fab Playbook to the bigger but also fab Motorola xoom player, which is now remedied with this fantastic app, but why they don't just have it as standard feature in xoom is ridiculous, some disappointing things with xoom as apps are NEEDED to function basic things where Playbook just does what you want without assistance. So glad i discovered this item as the video size was a big issue for me, i mean why move up to 10 inch screen and not be able to utilise it, the active menu bar is annoying enough in xoom. Anyway, great app which will keep me with xoom player for now. Thanking you Hope this review alerts others to this simple fix for a most annoying lack within xoom player. Goodnight. |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: By far the best. Really does play everything. Unlike other apps, this player really does play everything. Premium version also has the window in a window feature! |
[2013-03-21] A Google User: The best |
