Location Restarting an app is never acceptable, move your start up code and at a guess don't use singletons. Still doesn't pick up where I am, you need to redo that code and ask to enables GPS. Or open source it and let someone else.

tastecard is amazing!! Firstly I have never had a problem with the app or tastecard. I think their many errors the users are experiencing could be simply having their location based services turned off. If they can go into settings and have a look to make sure everything relating to location services is activated correctly and try using the app again it could fix the problem. The other reason could simply be that the app now is out of date, there has been 2 major updates since the app was first made (It was designed for Android 4.0, Android is now running 4.2). It could just be that the app is not compatible and would need to be updated to work on newer Android devices. I use my membership card around four or five times a month, the card has helped me save a hundreds of pounds in the last two years. When I have contacted them directly the staff have always been very happy to help and assisted me with any query I have had. I would recommend the card to anyone who dines out regularly.

Essentialb for taste card holders If you've got a taste card then you need this app. Works reasonably well and does what is required.

Frustrating App continually thinks I'm in Jersey, despite restart, and reinstall. I'm actually the other end of the country, and Jersey is a bit far for a meal out.

Near-me function broken I've had this app 6 months now. Great app except one main flaw - 5 months ago I used its 'near me' function while in Sheffield. Now back in my home town of London, the near-me function forever thinks i'm in Sheffield! Very frustrating!

Poor Doesn't provide restaurant details even when searching by town. When checking on the website and the mobile site restaurants are given that don't even exist in the app. also gives restaurant details that are no where near the location entered. What a shame for such a good product.

Would be good IF it used my current location When it has the right location it displays nearby restaurants well enough.I'll give it 2 stars for that. But half the time it seems to pick up some place where I was yesterday or earlier, even after I check on Google Maps that it is showing my current location. Usually I don't know the postcode when am out on the street, so have to use a more vague area which can be centred a long walk from where I really am. Other apps (e.g. Time Out) seems to have no trouble linking to my current location when Tastecard still thinks I am in some other town which I visited a day or two ago. I'll give it one more star because it gets the location right sometimes. That's generous I think.

Half awesome This app is awesome except if you are out and about and thunk to yourself, "I wonder where I can use my taste card locally". The GPS pick up is slow and syncs to the last place you used your Google map.

Poor implementation Just doesn't work properly. Doesn't pick up right area. Filter is a joke, you want 50% for 10 people gives you 1 result of 2for1 for 2 people. No way of filtering the results of the 'near me' search, which is what you want 90% of the times from the phone app. Useless, uninstalling.

Works well for me Desire S Works fine for me, none of the location or other problems others seem to have encountered. Pulling up local restaurants, all details displayed. Ready to book a local place for Sunday lunch tomorrow using my trial one month Taste membership :)
