[2011-09-29] Minka: I actually use this more for my cat than myself, but it does its job well. :) |
[2011-09-24] janko: SDcard / important choices Great app, love it, but I have to add my two cents: 1) PLEASE, give us an SD card option, otherwise I have to uninstall! WAY BIG! 2) The fish map misses a distinction between fishmongers (none here, zip 10003/10009) and restaurants (way too many), please give us a choice. 3) What can I rely on if a place lands on the fish map? Do you doublecheck just by the definition in your database? Any fact checking or can every bad restaurant/fishmonger be mentioned as long as they sell at least one "good" fish? Thx! |
[2011-09-22] dclownfish03: Almost Needs Ability to move to sd card! |
[2011-09-20] Alex: Too hard to navigate. They need to make it faster to find what you need. |
[2011-09-19] Sinja: Good Very good guide for eco-concious seafood lovers. |
[2011-09-10] C. J.: NEEDS app to SD Also, mercury content info would be helpful |
[2011-09-08] Luke: Great tool for consumer |
[2011-09-01] Rian: Mercury lvls (high-low) would be nice. I know the bigger the fish the higher the mercury but I don't know all the sizes of fish :) long live the fish! |
[2011-08-20] Yushun: Great app for sushi lover |
[2011-08-14] Ani: Great app. Very handy, it's hard to memorize all the choices |
[2011-08-12] scooby: Stupid |
[2011-08-10] Chris: Perfect for quick q&a when your on the go. |
[2011-08-09] Jared: Not even close to being ready- unless you live in New York, LA, Chicago, etc. |
[2011-08-05] Sun: I've been waiting for this app for some time but disappointed to see it restricted from some regions. Don't you want people to educate themselves? |
[2011-08-04] Jennine: More info about mercury content? I like this app, but wish there was more info about mercury content. Maybe some kind of scale? Thanks! |
[2011-08-02] Lukasz: Great and useful app! |
[2011-08-02] John: Info was was useful kind of, :) |
[2011-07-30] Nancy: it is awesome |
[2011-07-27] Troy: My favourite food app. I recommend it often. |
[2011-07-21] Qays: Needs support for move to SD. |
[2011-07-17] John: Well designed app. Some confusing multiple entries for fish, though--some are on all 3 lists depending on species and catch type, but this isnt clear. |
[2011-07-06] Tom: Uninstalled, takes 3+ MBytes. Truly takes about 30 seconds for developer to implement install-on-sd card... why not? |
[2011-07-04] Dave: Use it all the time |
[2011-07-03] Febe van Maldegem: Fine app! |
[2011-07-03] didolgi: Fine app for a good purpose, but pleas enable SD card support to offload the database |
[2011-06-30] Damon: Easy to use. Nice UI. Would love to see links to more information about the fish. Project fishmap seems good but not a lot there yet on my area |
[2011-06-25] John: Better than carrying the card around. Awesome! |
[2011-06-23] Kent: Need to install on SD. My phone it too full! |
[2011-06-19] Kathryn: Love this environmentally responsible and informative article. Thanks! |
[2011-06-18] Lawrence: Awesome, app is finally a manageable size |
[2011-06-18] swiftman: Awesome app. I was able to replace the tiny seafood watch card I always carry around in my pocket. And this is far more robust. |
[2011-06-10] SirSpammenot: Amazing... I so needed this app to be made. Get it! Avoid eating Chinese tilapia (for example). Technical issues aside (like tablet support!?) , this can only get better with more data and maturity. Compression and hackery forth with my gentle programmers! |
[2011-06-10] Shane: Please will you move this app to SD card don't make us choose between the earth and are phones 。 |
[2011-06-09] Adam: Incredible!!!! |
[2011-06-08] Lauren: App uses too much memory. Would rate higher if I could move it to SD card. |
[2011-06-06] Sandy : Kmwmwghbtbbkkmkwkktyyzmtzzzmwzmwmwzz |
[2011-06-02] flan: Crashes when changing region If you're in Europe, it crashes going to the Guides menu item. Also, places are very US centric. |
[2011-05-29] les and: Would like to keep it, but it's huge and lacks move to SD. Uninstalling. |
[2011-05-29] Adam: @Marshall. NOAA lists south atlantic breeding population of black sea bass as overfished. Do your research. App2SD works for me. |
[2011-05-29] Marshall: @Adam, Anyone gone fishing in past 5years know how BS that data is. We need real scientific research, not NOAA's Jane Lubchenco radical EDF ideology. |
[2011-05-29] glen: Great, smaller option - The Green Seafood Guide The Green Seafood Guide is only 352kb and moveable to SD card! Great option. Would give this a 5 if moveable to SD and smaller. |
[2011-05-27] Mark: Good but very US focussed. Would be nice to have UK / European info too. |
[2011-05-27] Scott: Definitely appreciate having this as an app so I don't have to carry around that little card... but there is no excuse for the insane size. |
[2011-05-26] Brendan: Don't see what all the fuss is about. Waste of space |
[2011-05-26] Alan: Has very few of the common fish on South African menus. Confusing multiple entries for the same fish. |
[2011-05-26] Jase: Wanted to locate local restaurants and sushi. No good in Vancouver, BC. |
[2011-05-26] Brian: Didn't work, uninstalled. |
[2011-05-26] Belinn: Sorry - must have app2sd to keep this |
[2011-05-25] Colin: Needs move to SD and listing of when seafood is in season. |
[2011-05-25] Phillip: Would be a five if it had the scientific names of all the fish aswell. |
[2011-05-25] Brigitte: Yay! Now I can get rid of the paper copy of this that I got from The Living Planet Aquarium! I love MBA and I am excited about being able to use this. |
[2011-05-25] Sarah: Supported it from the beginning. Still have my paper pocket one as well. :) For those of you complaining it's too big, DELETE YOUR ANGRY BIRDS! |
[2011-05-25] Wryy: Bluefin Tuna is yummy. I will eat most of these "avoid" fish until they are all gone. Only one life and I'm gettin' mine! Later hippies. |
[2011-05-25] Monkey: This is a great app. And fyi the space issue has nothing to do with Angry Birds, which is about the same size as this app. I had no space issues. |
[2011-05-25] Jason: Needs Move to SD! I would love to keep it, but it's just too big. |
[2011-05-25] Lazinase: This is what I've been looking for ! |
[2011-05-24] James: Too big to put on phone? I dunno wtf these people are thinking but 7 mb hasn't been "big" for at least 10 years. A fine app. |
[2011-05-24] Mike: This is a great app! I can finally replace my seafood watch card in my wallet. |
[2011-05-24] Xiaochen: app2sd please |
[2011-05-24] Gabe: Dont understand why it needs permision to modify contents in my SD card if it won't let me transfer it to my SD card! 7MB in size, largest app n phone |
[2011-05-24] Scott: Too big and can't install on SD card. Fairly confusing layout of information so it is hard to know what to look for. Love the idea but needs revision. |
[2011-05-24] puppylove: Agree w/others... SD card option is a no brainer must! |
[2011-05-23] meaghen: Can't open app. Force closes |
[2011-05-22] Snowy: U.S only, needs work!! |
[2011-05-22] tanamarn: Unable to move to card; too big to keep on phone! |
[2011-05-21] Eric Vogel: I am glad there is a pamphlet free green version. I knocked this down two stars because it is almost 8 megs installed and cannot move to sdcard. |
[2011-05-21] Darren: What are you complaining about? Go to your apps in settings, seafood watch and move to SD |
[2011-05-21] Denise: It looks like they fixed the problem about the defaults being west coast when some of us are not on the west coast so...YEA!!! |
[2011-05-21] Andy: 7mb installed on my phone. Really need move to SD option otherwise a nicely done app. Also, we need some updates for restaurants in Alaska please. |
[2011-05-20] Benjo: Been looking forward to an android app. You guys should also offer the app for $1-5. I'm sure people would donate. I would! |
[2011-05-20] Anonymous: Dumb as hell, info is all rong |
[2011-05-20] BigShel,Shel,Shelly,Chef: If you care at all about sustainable seafood you will share this app. It's a must have. |
[2011-05-20] Joe DeRose: Great resource -- but why on earth would you design an app of this size without allowing saves to SD? |
[2011-05-20] dmaudsley: Good, but doesn't cover most fish found in the UK or Europe. |
[2011-05-19] Phil: Yay, finally, a Seafood Watch Android app! Can't wait to try this out. NS 2.3. |
[2011-05-19] Anonymous: Great App! Nice UI, helpful info & runs without any bugs. Droid X Froyo |

[2011-05-18] jfreund: Wonderful app, but takes way too much space on phone. As others say, needs SD support. |
[2011-05-18] James: Fc on Dinc |

[2011-05-12] Geoff: Way too big for no SD support Uninstalling. Would install again if it could be moved to SD card. Very useful otherwise. More stars when it gets updated. |
[2011-05-09] Joel: Good App, needs SD support Good App, needs SD support |
[2011-04-30] the 5/2/2011 : Guide defaults to West Coast - have to re-select my state with each use (a big nuisance). The cure requires location permissions - privacy issue. |
[2011-04-28] juliansalome: Please move to SD card, thx |
[2011-04-23] Andrew: Has potential. Could not find a single seafood restaurant that had fish listed. I'm in Kona, Hawaii |
[2011-04-19] sun: Alternate suggestions were also noted separately as food to avoid, cannot move to sd card, pointless |
[2011-04-17] Dan: Not surprising - useless for australia |
[2011-04-17] David K: Excellent app, sponsored byh monterey aquarium, and includes up to date version of what is in pocket guide. Search function alternate suggestions. |
