Omnivore keeps track food expiry dates for you. New items are entered either by typing their name or scanning the barcode (requires Barcode Scanner app). The application creates Google Calendar events for each item of food you enter that can be accessed and updated from anywhere. Omnivore also hooks into the Google Calendar notification system to send you either an email, SMS or Android Notification when food is about to go bad. Items displayed in the app will turn orange when they are about to expire and red when they have gone bad so you know what needs eating soon and what to throw out.
NOTE: Barcodes and their associated names are stored locally, not remotely.
