The mission of Mountain View Christian Schools is to graduate Christian leaders who by their commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality will transform the world for Jesus Christ.
Thirty years ago, The Champion Center (formerly Mountain View Assembly) started as a small group, meeting in a facility on Lamb Blvd. By 1983, we had grown from those first 25 committed adults to a body of 300 regular attendees. From the very beginning, the Holy Spirit gave The Champion Center a vision of continuous soul-winning growth - a vision that included a Christian school as well. In the fall of 1983, Mountain View Christian School (MVCS) was founded as a preschool. In 1986 we moved our ministry to our current location at 3900 E. Bonanza Rd. Over the next four years, our loction grew to 20 acres, as we acquired two parcels of adjoining property, In 1989, Mountain View Assembly moved into our new facility that included a 600-seat sanctuary, along with an education wing housing MVCS preschool and elementary school students. Since our arrival here on Bonanza Rd., we have steadfastedly remained committed to the vision. In the spring of 1996, a 1st grade classroom wing and a multi-purpose room was added to serve both our growing youth ministries and school, including the opening of a high school. In the winter of 1997, a new junior high and high school education wing was dedicated. This facility offers students of MVCS 14 classrooms including a state of the art technology center, science lab, media center and band room. The new wing also became the home of our expanding Sunday school and small group programs. The next phase of growth for The Champion Center came in the construction of our Family Life Center. Completed in the fall of 1998, the Family Life Center serves as a gymnasium and a meeting area for special events, banquets, and youth activities. Today, Mountain View Christian Schools is the premier Leadership Institute in Las Vegas.
