defunct I select the group, then the tone, then it opens the list of group members, which is always empty, no matter how many members are actually in the selected group. So it is unusable. motorola defy+, stock android 2.3.6

Double entries, else good This app worked perfectly before. Now the only issue is it creates double entries of each group, so 'family', 'friends' etc appear twice. Sometimes it splits the contacts under each group and divides between the duplicated groups. I thought it must be reading my Google contacts groups, which was synchronised earlier. So I deleted all Google contacts groups, cleaned cache for both apps, uninstalled and reinstalled Group Ringtones, but the same problem persists. Any solution?

Glad I found this Thank goodness, a solution to assigning ringtones to existing groups. It took me several other attempts before finding this much simpler solution. Mind you this should be a feature in contacts, who knows why it's not! Thank you devs for this great app.

Got it working It does not update ringtones for groups created on my Droid X. I had to import my facebook contacts into my gmail contacts, create a new sub-group in gmail for those I wanted a separate ringtone for, and load that group to my phone. Finally worked.

Please Fix Problem This app is good, the only problem that I found is it created the same group twice, for example it created "family" group twice. It also separate members in the same group to these same-twice-group. Please fix this problem, then you will get 5 stars rating.

Prioritize groups and reapply ringtones I will give you 5 stars if you implement a way to manually sort the groups and reapply ringtones depending of the order, i.e., backwards/upwards

Great App A great way to modify the default ringtones for many contacts at once, using the groups they're placed in. I kind of wish my phone let me assign a separate ringtone to all non-contacts, but since it doesn't, this is the best alternative I've found.

Doesn't work on RAZR Didn't work at all on my Verizon Wireless Motorola RAZR. All calls still used default ringtone. The only thing I don't like about my new phone is the loss of this feature.

Great app, sets ringtones, doesn't maintain them This app is a simple tool that sets multiple contacts to a common ringtone, so you don't have to do it one-by-one. To avoid being bothered by unknown callers, I set my default ringtone to "silent." Then I used this app to set all my contacts to a ringtone. Without this app, I would have to set 400 individual ringtones. It doesn't maintain contact ringtones, it just sets them when you ask it to, so if you add a contact or move one between groups, you have to set that ringtone manually, or run this app again. SGH-T989, google contacts.

fixes a problem I don't know why ICS does not have this feature, since it's the No1 feature we use regarding contact groups (and phones offer it since the late 90s!!!!) but at least this app can make your life easier.

Fails on Bionic Great idea, but certainly didn't work on my Bionic. No errors reported. In fact you'd almost think it worked, except that when it's done applying, it didn't =o(

Small and efficient Brilliant! Does something as advertized, that Google should have supported by default. Unfortunately, because of Google's limitation, looks like the ringtone is set for every contact in a loop rather than belonging to an actual group. I haven't tested adding a new contact to group and checking if the new contact has the group ringtone set automatically, but I have a strong feeling this doesn't happen unless done from the app explicitly. Worth donating for the developer giving this for free and keeping the app slick, but a little costly for such a minimal feature. Would be good if the developer can throw in some goodies like contact and call management. At the very least, a periodic Google Contact synchronization to update a contact's new addition to a group. Please remove the ugly bottom pane (Lookout Mobile Security) though.
