In August 2011 Dave Heeley intends to run AND cycle almost 1,000 miles in 10 days – all for Macmillan Cancer Support. 2011 marks the charity's 100th anniversary. For a number of personal reasons – and the fact he’s been raising money for them for a long time – Dave wants to raise awareness and lots of money!
The journey starts on August 10 at John O'Groats – the very birthday in 1884 of the charities founder Douglas Macmillan - and ends 10 days later on August 19 at Land's End. And what a challenge! Each day will start with a marathon run of 26.2 miles, then a cycle to the next destination – an average 75 miles per day
