BeerSmith 2 Lite (v. 2.1.59) Разработано BeerSmith LLC |
BeerSmith 2, the top selling home brewing software, comes to Android! BeerSmith Lite lets you search from thousands of beer recipes on our BeerSmithRecipes sharing site, and download and view them on your phone or tablet. The app is also tightly integrated with our desktop software and cloud recipe service, making it a snap to view your recipes on the go. An integrated brew day timer with notifications shows you step by step instructions for your recipes and plays an alarm as each completes. The ultimate companion app for BeerSmith users - create a recipe at your desktop cloud folder, walk in the garage, and run the brewday timer from your mobile device!

Features:
- Search, view and select from thousands of recipes on our BeerSmithRecipes server
- Brewday timer for steep, mash and boil with notifications and alarms
- Ability to store recipes you find locally or to your cloud account
- Full integration with the desktop version of BeerSmith via your cloud folder

Easy to use, works great with our BeerSmith 2 desktop software - a fantastic brew-day companion!
[2013-08-31] A Google User: Great app! The app is great and easy to use. Love being able to edit recipes from my phone. |
[2013-08-22] A Google User: Good but flawed Alarm notification needs to but MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH louder, almost silent on one x and nexus 7, the alarm doesn't repeat, so if you miss it, tough. My phone wakes me in a morning, this couldn't wake me if it tried. A time mode, where the clock takes the FULL screen, with maybe the next step/addition across the top, and the following one underneath, would make it much easier to see across the brew house, particularly if using a tablet (the screen needs to be optimised better for tablets too). |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: Feel ripped off The software works fine, but I bought this and not long after the full version comes out and takes some of the features out of this. If I knew the full version was coming I would have saved my money and waited! |
[2013-08-18] A Google User: Very useful I love being able to pull up my recipes on my phone at the brew supply store. Best of all if I decide to make any recipe changes I can save them right away rather then waiting until I get home. |
[2013-08-14] A Google User: Broken Can't change settings, very laggy, inefficient design. I am going to continue trying this app, but it is currently unusable. |
[2013-08-10] A Google User: Essential for good beer Couldn't do the beer without it. |
[2013-08-07] A Google User: Great app. Great service. I love the app. It makes it so easy to nail down recipe ideas no matter where I am. It is especially nice to know that great service comes along with it. I had an issue, so I sent an email and got a response in about ten minutes asking for more info. My issue was corrected the next day. I am very happy with BeerSmith. I own the upgraded lite app as well as the desktop version and I would definitely recommend both. |
[2013-08-04] A Google User: Great program! Last update fixed my missing mash timer issues. Thanks for the quick update! |
[2013-08-02] A Google User: Password issue resolved. |
[2013-07-14] A Google User: Needs desktop sync Decent, but can only sync with desktop using beersmith cloud and has an iOS style interface. I ended up using Dropbox and Titanium Media Sync to sync recipes with the desktop, and BrewAide to open them. |
[2013-05-25] A Google User: Excellent app. Does what it's supposed to. |
[2013-05-22] A Google User: Reasonable Functional but basic. Equipment profile page not working |
[2013-05-03] A Google User: Locks up/Force quits Galaxy Nexus |
[2013-04-10] A Google User: Samsung galaxy s2 Poor performance, and not nearly enough functionality at this cost. Registered users of beer Smith desktop should have gotten this for free. If it works well and had more functions would have been happy to buy it. |
[2013-04-03] A Google User: Pretty neat Wee bit slowish and lacks editing but very nice companion for desktop version. |
[2013-03-22] A Google User: Thank you Brad This is fantastic! I cant wait for the ability to edit recipes! If you need beta testers I would love to help with that Brad! |
[2013-03-12] A Google User: Brew day I would love to make changes to my recipe without having to go to my laptop. I'd love to ditch the laptop, but can't without a full version. Otherwise, I love the program. I've had the desktop version for about 6 years!! |
[2013-02-16] A Google User: Love it!! Great app to go with the software. |
[2013-02-10] A Google User: Only useful with the Beersmith Cloud service Think you can copy a recipe from your desktop through any other method than the Beersmith Cloud? Think again: you can't even copy a file over USB. I don't want to use the Beersmith Cloud, so this is basically just a set of calculators. You can get those for free in other apps. Probably quite useful if you do have the Beersmith Cloud. But not for me. |
[2013-02-10] A Google User: Quite ok Very useful even though its a lite version where you can only view recipes. Good tool to use when brewing, but I'm missing the possibility to set temperature when calibrating hydrometer. |
[2013-02-03] A Google User: Purchased with the hope of updates For $4, and only useful if you purchased the desktop version, it needs serious work. For these entry costs, Brad, speed improvements and a native android interface (not an ios port with ios graphics and style) are expected. I look forward to future versions. |
[2013-01-19] A Google User: Doesn't work on Nexus 7 The app's profile let's me buy it for my tablet, but when installing, I get an "Incompatible Update" error. Not cool. |
[2013-01-02] A Google User: Subpar This is basically a link to your recipes you create on your desktop. You can not create or edit recipes on the device. Do not buy unless you own the desktop version! How about a refund? |
[2012-12-30] A Google User: Essential Beersmith for the PC is a program I don't know how I brewed without before and now the "lite" version for Android had become that as well. I put parentheses around lite because this app is incredibly robust and chalk full of useful tools for calculations and conversions. A must have for any serious brewer. |
[2012-12-28] A Google User: Great way to integrate and go paperless! This app is like the companion to the full blown program, much the same way as your phone is typically a companion to your full blown computer. I've used this on two bees thus far and it sure makes it easy to get that info quickly. Also great when going to the brewshop for ingredients. I can't wait until the recipes become editable! |
[2012-12-16] A Google User: Beer Smith 2 Lite Outstanding and easy to use. Love the Recipe Cloud. |
[2012-12-08] A Google User: Awesome Five stars when recipe's editable. Cheers great app. |
[2012-12-02] A Google User: A must-have for Beersmith PC users This is a great subset of the Beersmith 2.0 PC version. It has all of the tools you would expect to be used on brew day away from your desktop PC, and it fits the needs of both beginners and all-grain users. It will allow you to store recipes locally, and if you really feel the need for cloud storage and access, you can use the subscription cloud service offered by Beersmith, but it's free for up to 10 recipes. My option is that the cloud storage isn't worth it, but your needs may be quite different from mine. I would recommend saving the annual subscription cost for cloud storage and use local storage, or maybe Dropbox if you want free cloud storage. You will have to copy your recipe file from Dropbox to where the Beersmith lite app stores he local files. Contrary to what some reviewers have claimed, this is NOT a scam to get you to pay for the Beersmith cloud storage service. As I mentioned, there is both an option for local storage as well as cloud storage. The cloud may be easier to use, however, to keep any changes synchronized and in the same place. Otherwise, learn how to copy and move files from the PC or Dropbox to the Beersmith recipes folder and save some money. |
[2012-11-20] A Google User: Needs work but does as advertised |
[2012-11-14] A Google User: Thank you! Thank you! |
[2012-11-08] A Google User: Love it! Used it a couple weeks ago and it worked perfectly! I love not having to bring the laptop out to the garage on brew day! Having access to the cloud was just icing on the cake. Thank you Brad for another great product. |
[2012-11-05] A Google User: Great App This is the perfect brew day assistant. everything runs great and is alot easier to run than others I have tried. Great Job!!! |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: Can NOT build recipes Have to buy the desktop app and access recipes through cloud. Stupid. |
[2012-11-04] A Google User: Does what it says Makes for a nice simple way to manage your brewing without lugging the laptop into the kitchen. The timer works well and it's nice and convenient for checking what you're doing. |
[2012-11-01] A Google User: Scam/Ripoff This app will NOT let you view your own recipes from your computer unless you use the cloud service. If you want to use more than 10 recipes, you have to pay $15 for a beercloud subscription. What a joke. Rip your customers off by not letting them load the files locally. IT'S A TRAP!!!!!!!!!! He hooks you in with the $4 app, wont let you edit stuff, and then has the audacity to require you to use the cloud service to view your own recipes. The integration here is unacceptable. Word to the wise: Get BrewAide and use a Dropbox folder for your recipes. Works like a charm. I love BeerSmith for PC but this is a joke. |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: Disappointing performance & looks Looks and feels like an IPhone port. Everything performs slow, from switching screens to entering data. Scrolling is choppy and laggy beyond belief. Frustrating and disappointing to say the least. Running on Galaxy Nexus 4.1.2 |
[2012-10-27] A Google User: Best mobile brewing software It is the best mobile brewing software and connects my beersmith recipes via the cloud. And it's only gonna get better when the full version becomes available |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Everything I want except... GRAMS. I still have to print my recipes to weigh my grains and hops. |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Great App! Love the integration with the cloud and all the tools and reference materials. Please add sync to shopping cart! |
[2012-10-24] A Google User: Much better! Review updated to 4 stars. Thanks for addressing the timer issue! Have run a couple of batch simulations and am happy to say I'll run this exclusively on my next brew day. A few little quirks left, but it's a matter of preference and semantics. Great work. |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Has great potential This app is a bit sluggish, and looks like it wants to be an I phone app. I wish it had info about strike and sparge volumes and temps. That would eliminate the need for paper in the brew area. |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Fantastic addition to the desk top Use the desk top and this is a great addition. Saves me when i go to the brew store to get materials too. |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Perfect brew day companion! No more printing! Integrated timers! I have used Beersmith since the beginning nearly a decade ago and always opted to print my recipes because no app seemed to give me all the details I needed from my recipe. This is the perfect companion on brew day! |
[2012-10-23] A Google User: Finally!!!! I've been waiting for this for a long time. I love BeerSmith and this is a welcome companion. Looking forward to the full mobile version. Keep it up Brad! |
[2012-10-20] A Google User: Definitely needs a new UI... but great otherwise This does just feel like a shameless port from the iOS version. Where's a BeerSmith app that actually is designed to fit with Android? I bought it because I love BeerSmith on my computer, but I'm honestly disgusted by the iOS UI on Android. Additionally, there's no reason to have a legacy menu button on a new app. Just design it correctly, already. 4 stars, easily, if they fix that - maybe even 5. |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Great but room for refinement. I installed the android app the first day it was available. I tinkered around with it a little and uploaded a few recipes to the cloud. I brewed a my first batch using the app the other day. I really liked not having to keep up with a sheet of paper through the brewing process. I would like to see the units match the custom unit settings in BeerSmith. For example, I weigh out my hops by gram, and likewise have BeerSmith customized to report my hop schedule in grams. However, my cloud recipes on the Android App still report Oz. Also, another improvement would be to somehow have an visual indicator in the app to easily find where in the brew process I am. Possibly some check boxes that could be "checked off" and everything up to that point would be shaded gray... Just a few ideas. Overall a great app for a first release. Keep developing it. 4 Stars from me. |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Nice looking app, but not worth the price. It looks nice and is handy to look at your recipes, but I could do all of this on my phone or tablet through the browser. The timer and calculators are all available for free elsewhere. I was so excited to get the app I failed to read the full description and was disappointed that I couldn't edit my recipes. Hopefully when the full app comes out buyers of this app will get a discount. |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: Not so great I like all of the bells and whistles here, but I want to build a recipe on the fly. Feel like I wasted some money. |
[2012-10-15] A Google User: It's great for what it's designed to be! Some reviews I have seen are knocking Brad for not allowing recipe development on the app. That's not what he designed it for, and to be honest, was quite up-front about from the day he announced it. So don't knock it for what it's not even trying to be. What it is: A shopping and brew-day extension to your beersmith software which allows you to see, buy the ingredients for, and brew your creations without requiring that you have a laptop near large volumes of hot liquid. The brew day timer is one of the most convenient features. Yes, there are free brew day timers out there. How many of them sync with the beer cloud to pull your actual recipe and automatically set the times based on your mash profile, hop additions, etc? I did a mash-out this weekend for the first time, and this recipe timer knew exactly what I needed to do and when without me having to figure it out. Convenient. The boil timer calculates your hop addition times, and notifies you when it's time. The hop amounts, varieties and such are right there. An additional benefit is the count-up after the boil timer. Let it keep going after flame out, and it'll start counting how long it takes to chill your wort. HANDY! |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Thank you I have what I like to call my brewputer in my mini-brewery, on which i run the full version. I don't really need this app. I bought it for the simple fact that android didn't take backseat to ios as is usually the case. Thank you brad, hers my four bucks :-) On a useful note' its a good app that I hope it will be expanded upon now hat the push to release is one. |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Great companion Seemless integration with desktop version via cloud storage is well worth the cost. Five stars with a few minor tweeks - I wish the brew timer had the ability to require a user prompt as I didn't hear one alarm. Also the sparge volumes are off from the desktop version... |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Very well designed. Like the desktop program, have not been disappointed. |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Just not for the price Some nice features that can be found free with other apps but consolidated here. Overall, this just isnt worth the price tag when compared to brewpal and other options. Save the money and email a copy of your beersmith recipe to your smartphone. Timers, unit converters and bjcp guidelines are out there free. |
[2012-10-11] A Google User: Great brewday app Very good app, with lots of useful tools. Nice integration with the beersmith cloud. I look forward to the full version. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Cannot load recipes into app. It would be nice to be able to load recipes into the app without using the cloud. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Looks awesome I haven't used it on brew day yet but from what I see, great program. I like having the information about the ingredients I'm using. I love the looks of the program |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Perfect brew day mini version of BeerSmith Love this app. I've been using it for about a month, was lucky to be a beta tester. I've brewed with it 3 times and it's exactly what I needed. I don't want my laptop out when I'm brewing, the phone app is all I need. Someone said the timer would be better if it told you when to add hops. It does. Automagically. Set your times in your recipe in the cloud and download it to your phone. You'll get notifications at every step you set. No manual timer settings needed if your recipe is set. I love that I can tweak the heck out of my recipes at my computer, then download it to my phone for reference at my homebrew store or when I'm brewing. Lot's of handy tools too. This isn't a great stand-alone app, you really need to already be using BeerSmith. If you're already a BeerSmith user, this is so worth $4. The perfect, mobile add on to a great desktop app. Brad did a great job and this is a brand new app. It's only going to get better. As someone who has some time invested in using & testing this app, I find it ridiculous it's getting low ratings from folks who admittedly haven't even used it yet. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Needs appropriate inputs I've only been able to play with this and so far it's pretty good. One easy change would be to use the appropriate input type for fields. If i can only type a number, set the field type to numeric. Fix this issue and you got yourself a 5star app. Side note: for those who don't use BeerSmith cloud, you are really missing out on some great functionality. |
[2012-10-10] A Google User: Almost there Really good app but would love to be able to add notes to the recipe during the brewday |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: At last! The illustrious brad smith has awaken from his cave to deliver us a beaming piece of mobile app beersmithy-ness! So far, its delivered what I've been yearning for in my brew day and when I'm wondering aimlessly through the beer shop saying, "what the heck was I suppose to get for that triple imperial chocolate wit again????" Now, I can whip out my large phone and find out! Cheers! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Functional but basic |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Nice Very nice companion to the desktop software. It will be good for taking to the brew store and while I'm in the kitchen doing the work. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Apps with Iphone UI on Android.... First impressions say a lot. Sorry Brad but this app screams iphone. Maybe after my fist use I can increase the rating but right now I'm feeling generous and giving it a 3 |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: A Good Start I havent brewed with it yet, but it seems very functional, and will really beat using a PDF printout of a recipe on my phone and tablet. I cant wait for a full featured app where I can do recipe building on the fly. Being able to whip up a quick recipe while in the local HBS would be awesome! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Finally! No more printing off shopping lists, now I can just open my recipe right at the brew shop! The timer is really going to help because I often loose track of time. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Looks cool So far so good. Looking forwards to trying it. Excellent work! Nice layout. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: A good starting point Would be nice to be able to add an equipment profile. Also would like to import recipes from pc to phone without paying for it on the cloud. Cheers |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Wow, awesome! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Very nice, can't wait to see this evolve Brad, great job. The timer looks awesome. Now my laptop doesn't have to be near a 6 gallon pot of boiling wort!!! Who uses paper these days? Can't wait till we can design recipes. I know what my lunch hour is going to be all about now! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Way to go Exactly what I would expect. The essential for the Beersmith user. Being able to sync with the beer smith cloud now I can brew right out of my pocket or tinker with a recipe |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Thank you Brad This is fantastic! |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Worthwhile, but needs improvements I've only played around with it some, looking forward to using it on brew day. However, it obviously needs some improvements, mostly minor things. For example, when using the brewing tools (mostly calculators), the keyboard that my phone displays is the full qwerty keyboard. This makes using the app much more difficult than necessary, as I only need the numeric keys. The dev should select the appropriate inputType on these fields. Also, the app isn't smooth (Samsung Galaxy S3, so I'm skeptical that it's the phone.) And, as other have pointed out, the stylistically jarring UI. |
[2012-10-09] A Google User: Much more than I expected! This application provides THE tools you want "at the ready" on brew day. The timers are the most practical & well thought out I could ever hope for. "Lite" is a very misleading tag for the app, because it's full of premium grade features. I love the extension it provides to the desktop app. |
