[2013-01-01] A Google User: Misleading title This is not really a year with the Church fathers. Each day begins with a brief paraphrase of something a Church father said, e.g, "No matter what scientific explanation you come up with for the origin of the universe, says St. Basil, you'll go far wrong if you don't put God at the beginning of it." The paraphrase is then followed by a meditation by Mike Aquila, a question for reflection, and a prayer. So you don't actually get to read anything by the Church Fathers with this app. You mostly get to read reflections by Mike Aquila. The idea of a short Patristic reading every day is a great one. Unfortunately, this app does not provide that. |
