An IBM compatible PC emulator that can run early operating systems such as MS-DOS on your Android device.
This is a port of JPC for Android. JPC is a pure Java emulation of an x86 PC hardware in software.
Bundled in this release is FreeDOS (Like MS-DOS) and a selection of shareware games on a virtual drive C:/
This emulator is extremely demanding and will only run on modern devices. Keyboard and mouse input is very basic and is still in development.
This is intended for demonstration use only, although the bundled games run, they are not playable.

[2012-10-09] Chris: Promising Almost makes my tablet feel useful having access to a DOS prompt. I realise this is just a demo but have rated it 5 stars to reflect its usefulness to the masses. OK for a 5 second play for geeks but other than that, not great. If this were to be worked up I've love to see...... 1) DIR of the actual Android file structure if possible and launch of apps, control of files 2) Full screen on tablets in landscape 3) MUCH faster. My T101 tablet is heaps more powerful than my old 386 and 486 and yet invaders was dog slow in this emulator The above are suggestions for the future NOT slating the current version. I recognise it's in demo phase. |

[2012-09-06] Josh: Great proof of concept. Tested with old dos game on galaxy s 2. Works, not too slow, but not fast. Fun to play around with. Thanks! [2012-08-03] S: Error As soon as I open it, it force closes. No other details. I try it several times, same outcome. I think it doesn't like HTC's, looking at the other reviews. I am going to stick with aDosBox. |
