[2011-11-07] shinigani mai: Impressed but to soft I am impressed with the quality of the voice and smooth for the most part (Amy UK English) but it is too soft even with the volume turned all the way up it need to be louder or have a setting in the engine itself to adjust the loudness, if it was louder i would purchases this, but being to soft compared to Samsung or pico precludes that, fix the volume and it will be perfect. (using on an galaxy s II) |
[2011-11-05] Tina: Good app Great! |
[2011-11-03] Zack: Good You've gotta let me put it on the SD card. It looks like you're trying to ruin what is far and away t |
[2011-11-03] weav2k4: Best of the Bunch! Most impressive TTS but it comes at a price of needing high end hardware. It would struggle on my captivate (would stutter or delay) but the more powerful Galaxy S II makes this TTS really shine. Highly recommended if you are sick of the anemic default android TTS engine. Very impressed! Now just get MORE of your voices on android!! |
[2011-11-02] siskiou: Doesn't work with Moon+ Reader Pro The UK voice sounds great, but unfortunately, Ivona doesn't seem to work with my favorite reader with TTS. It just silently speeds through the book, with not a word spoken. SVOX and Pico voices both work with moon+ reader pro. |
[2011-11-02] Malithorne: A relief compared to PICO Pleasant voice. Just like PICO, there are adjustments while listening. While it generally reads most text more accurately it struggles differently. |
[2011-11-02] Jon: Excellent quality! |
[2011-11-01] alistari: too much ram memory... unfortunaly PicoTTS and Ivona speech engines eats too much ram memory.begin to eat from 50 ram memory and in time, just made my mobile to colaps because ram memory is full.Maybe find a solution to free ram after use,or trace that delete from ram the cache.Good vocie and very nice but uninstalled because this ram colaps. |
[2011-10-29] kosstheory: Good quality but buggy I've tried to use it in several different applications and it always seems to pause at odd times, like it's struggling to get through sentences. Words get cut off then there will be a 5 second pause before it continues. This would be my first choice, if it just worked consistently. I normally would just uninstall and never look back, but when it works it's outstanding. So, I'll just disable it for now and wait for a fix. However, I won't pay for it until it's fixed. Samsung Epic 4G. |
[2011-10-29] Brian: Well done. Works well with WebTalks app. |
[2011-10-28] Grinchyy: Joe Faster and more natural than Svox. British Amy is sexy! Just needs volume control, is too quiet. |
[2011-10-28] bahrtasai: 250MB? You've got to be kidding me! Uninstall. |
[2011-10-28] the 10/28/2011
[2011-10-28] Chris: Works great best voice out there I run this on the Samsung galaxy Tablet it works great, it reads books , maps etc with great clarity. It has some small pronunciation and word recognition problems , such as the word "no" coming out as "number". It would be nice also to have a sentence read with a little more expression , but it sounds human. |
[2011-10-28] Jay: Took to long to load.... |
[2011-10-27] Al Iguana: awesome Most natural voice I've ever heard on Android (and I've tried them all). Also massive props to the company for doing a Welsh voice (with quite good pronunciation) too. Just waiting for it to hit Android.. :) |
[2011-10-26] Marco: Volume to low Volume to low when using google navigation on DROID 3. May try again when problem gets solved. |
[2011-10-25] Matt: Too quiet! Sounds awesome but definitely not loud enough to use for navigation. |
[2011-10-25] Bobby: This is great This is a great application, quality is phenomenal.....I waiting for Romanian Carmen.... |
[2011-10-25] Evan: Have over 400 MB free! App still says not enough internal storage. |
[2011-10-25] Mo: Too slow to be useful back to SVOX This App is too slow to be useful. I would not buy until fixed. They need to work on optimization. Back to SVOX. Too bad otherwise pretty good. |
[2011-10-25] Richard: Awesome! I just installed this voice engine on my Samsung GS2, installed both the American and British English voices.. NICE!!! very smooth and fluid voices not all "Mr. Roboto" like the Pico TTS engine!! +1 for sure!! |
[2011-10-25] Ryan: nice ok its nice and all, but please take off the notification icon its really annoying |
[2011-10-25] Greg: Would like to actually hear it Won't work with Motorola Atrix please fix I hate the native voice that comes with android |
[2011-10-23] bornagainpenguin: Had to reset phone. Apps wants me to redownload 200mb of voice data despite the files still being where they were before. Not going to do it. |
[2011-10-23] Dycka_goD: i love it.. It's great. |
[2011-10-22] vdub: very nice voice very nice voice. However, I don't like the fact that I have to run a service all the time for it to work. Its also quieter then the stock Android voice so in noisy conditions, like a convertible, its imposable to hear. Can't really complain to much since its free. However, I would not pay for it if that is the case after November. |
[2011-10-22] gsaldivar: best quality so far I would happily buy this, the quality is amazing! I hope its not too expensive |
[2011-10-20] Anonymous: The file takes up nearly 40mb of internal storage!! weak... |
[2011-10-19] Kevin: Better for higher end phones The voices sound very good, but they take over 30 megabytes, and they won't move to the sd card. Processing is slow on droid. |
[2011-10-19] Mike: Amazing voice quality! |
[2011-10-18] Tyler: Hands down best voice sythesis on the market The voice synthesis is easily the most enjoyable on the market. Quality is phenomenal. Unfortunately, there are two downsides: File size is gigantic and its far too slow on my original Moto Droid 2.3.3 to be useful. Seriously, I hope its a hardware issue with my phone and not the app itself. The voice quality is too good to be ruined by a shoddy engine. Anyone else having issues with slow playback or lack of playback altogether? I hope its just my phone. My low rating reflects these issues. Otherwise 5stars |
[2011-10-17] Zach: Impressive TTS IVONA is an award winning text to speech engine. It is basically unbeaten on Android. Considerably better than Apple's TTS in Siri even. |
[2011-10-16] Raf: Excellent I love it!! But please! Let us store everything on the sd card!! Please! |
[2011-10-15] Anonymous: Worked before. Not anymore. Sensation |
[2011-10-14] Mark: I wanted to like this but it continues to stop working. Not worth the download size |
[2011-10-14] BigMike: Works great on my gs2 Sounds so human. Love listening to amy read to me on my galaxy s 2. |
[2011-10-13] Jason Stiles: totally rocks best sounding speech to text I have heard |
[2011-10-12] JM ツ: A shame |
[2011-10-11] ticlea: I need more language, like as Romanian please |
[2011-10-04] the 10/6/2011 bryan Best tts I have seen in awhile |
[2011-10-01] Sun: Nice TTS engine Very nice voices except for little low volume. Fox low volume issue, then you guys get a five stars |
[2011-10-01] Tymon: Very good voice quality but we want it to be storable on SD card. Especially voice files. |
[2011-09-26] Stacey: Wont open This app won't let me open. I was excited to use so am very disappointed. |
[2011-09-24] Thomas : This app takes you to link to a 250 mb download so the app will work, These guys gotta be nutts!!! |
[2011-09-24] Gwoździu: Unable to move to storage card. Because this (otherwise fantastic) application denies the possibility to transfer to memory card and consumes almost 15MB (with installed voice) of smartphone's internal ram, I do not recommend it at all. |
[2011-09-22] Elizabeth: Best text to speech Has most natural speech though stumbles with some place names. Works great with google maps & moon+ reader. |
[2011-09-22] Blu3boy: best tts voice but way to big a file. uninstalled |
[2011-09-22] Dave: Use to work but now force closes I really liked this and would give it 4-5 stars but now it force closes. |
[2011-09-21] Tapestry: Great concept but huge app and it freaked by thunderbolt out. Major lag. Plus the chicks voice kept changing. |
[2011-09-20] Daniel: Used every day, but now doesn't work after most recent upgrade (nexus s) |
[2011-09-18] Book worm: Takes lots of phone memory. Useless until it can be moved to fhe SD card. |
[2011-09-15] Michael L: Amazing! |
[2011-09-15] Kieran: Excellent voice, factor of ten more realistic than any other I've tried, but when using navigation it randomly swaps between English and USA voice. |
[2011-09-14] Daniel: Amazing This makes all other TTS programs look like rank amateurs. Amy is my favorite :) Works perfectly on my Galaxy S2. |
[2011-09-13] Josh: ! Don't update if you do it becomes a trial not free anymore. Boo!!! |
[2011-09-13] Piero Filippin: Amazing quality, better than SVOX. However, I had to revert to SVOX because it is slow to initialise, and heavily lags applications, esp navigation. |
[2011-09-13] Pat: Need to be able to move this to the SD card. |
[2011-09-11] James: Until you can move to sd it is useless can't afford to use 50mb of phone storage |
[2011-09-06] Art Vandelay: hands down the best. Better than Loquendo and SVOX. |
[2011-09-06] the 9/7/2011 : Good, but... It won't work with Google navigation, it kicks-in too late and the default google navigation voice starts. |
[2011-09-01] ประเสริฐ: I love this app, but some word that have 'or" it reads the sign . I think it would be good if it can read "you're" without the sign |
[2011-09-01] pete: Lovely voice but had to remove it due to size The voice works well and is so much better than the standard one. Works on my HTC Desire. Ultimately though I will have to remove it as the app 2.5m but more importantly voice data 30.57mb!!! and you can't put it on the SD card. Had my Desire four months now and its filling up so it'll probably have to go which is a real shame. It does switch back to standard voice for the odd sentnece during navigation - which is wierd. Not noticed any real latency issues experience by others. Sort the SD and its a 5 |
[2011-08-26] Sangra69: Not bad When it works it is fine but you wonder what the price is going to be. 3.99 or higher is too much cause svox is cheaper. |
[2011-08-24] steve: Same quality as SVOX. The Acapela voices are coming to Android soon, and they're better than these voices. |
[2011-08-20] Anonymous: Wow! Makes me want to use my phone's GPS! Sounds better than my Garmin now! |
[2011-08-18] Don_Bronx: Wow I am legally blind. Amazing voice! |
[2011-08-17] BigBird: superior pronunciation accuracy and smooth reading of SMS massages, maps, navigation, ebooks, and text from all applications that use speech synthesis |
[2011-08-16] Pipat: good device i lovin'it i'm lovin'it |
[2011-08-15] Amber: Okay Move to SD card option would be nice |
[2011-08-15] cory: Excellent Uk english is spot on, great work. I look forward to the final product |
[2011-08-15] Ser: Sounds good but stutters too much to be usable. Eg: New m.......essage arri........ved from jo....hn smoth. Galaxy S |
[2011-08-15] Mark: High quality but a little flakey. Switches back to std voice on occasion for no apparent reason. SVOX almost as good and more reliable. Desire HD |
[2011-08-14] Ammar: Very good voices but demand faster processors & more memory. |
[2011-08-12] julie: Please help I have a Samsung Captivate and I cannot get Ivona to be my Default Engine. My phone only shows Pico TTS. Every time I go to the Ivona website for help it comes up in a foreign language that I neither read nor speak. Can someone please help? I really like the app as a demo but would like to be able to use it. |
[2011-08-08] Glen an: Not bad but how much will it cost ? |
[2011-08-06] Momchil: Nice voices, but requires 250MB :( for voice data |
[2011-08-02] Carlitos: Screwed up my nexus one. I can no longer access my tts settings thanks to this app even after uninstalling. Ill probably have to wipe my phone for this... |
[2011-07-27] beny: My Hero is too slow to run this software. The voices do sound very good though. |
[2011-07-26] Mitko: For everyone complaining about the big file: If your android is rooted and you have partitioned your sd card move the big file from /data/data to /sd-ext and than make a symlink in /data/data pointing to the file in /sd-ext. I recomend doing it in recovery mode using adb |
[2011-07-26] Chaue: Best I've heard Using UK Amy and am very impressed. |
[2011-07-15] Manuel: Too confusing asks you to download more apps to properly work wich it never does..and takes for ever to download voice even on wifi |
[2011-07-08] Znuff: Badly needs to download voice files on SD, too large to use on older devices. |
[2011-07-07] M: Sounds amazing on Nexus S, but a resource hog that causes Navigation to think it's crashing cause it takes so long to load it's first words |
[2011-07-06] gmail: I dont want browser based text to speech. |
[2011-07-05] cosmos: Wish Kindle could use this! |
[2011-07-03] Quincy: Use too much phone storage. |
[2011-07-02] Cullen: Very useful. Needs more voices to be available. |
[2011-06-28] Matt: Great Voice, Far, far to big a data file The voices are fantastic and work well on my Optimus V phone. However, the over 33MB data file that must be stored on the phone rather than the SD card is crippling to a very large percentage of Android phone users. Please add the ability to store voice data on the SD card. I want my other apps back! |
[2011-06-25] Jerry the Nanobot: Massive for a rubbish website link where you can only use one voice. |
[2011-06-22] Nicknoxx: Won't install on HTC Wildfire S Too big. Even with EVERY app possible on the SD card there isn't enough phone memory to install the voice. Data needs to be on SD card |
[2011-06-20] Peewee: Not working with GPS |
[2011-06-19] mikea: excellent voices, but all data needs to be on sd card, requiring 30 megs of phone memory per voice is not an option for most phones |
[2011-06-18] r2thej151: Absolutely best voice out there! |
[2011-06-18] shirwan: Doesn't work. Requires add ons that aren't available |
[2011-06-16] gosa: App is great, but voice data needs to be on SD-card. 26mb of data could be a deal-breakeer for many users... |
[2011-06-16] Dan: british english voice sounds great however it's not available for download yet. please fix |
