Traffic Light Food Tracker (v. 1.0.3) Разработано Obesity Policy Coalition Australia |
Sick of misleading claims like ‘99% fat-free’ on sugary foods and cereals?
The Traffic Light Food Tracker app is designed to help you sort the fat from the fiction when it comes to the nutritional content of the food you buy.
The aim of the app is to demonstrate the effectiveness of traffic light labelling on packaged food. The app gives a traffic light rating based on the amount of total fat, saturated fat, sugars and sodium per 100g - green for low, amber for medium and red for high. The idea is to limit the number of red lights in your shopping trolley and replace with products with green lights. The app was developed by the Obesity Policy Coalition, a group of leading public Australian health agencies concerned about the impact of obesity in Australia, particularly in children.
If you’re in favour of clear labelling that lets you see at a glance know how healthy or unhealthy a product is, download this free app today.

[2012-05-08] Kate: Great work guys! This, in conjunction with an app like my fitness pal (which is free) would be so fantastic and go a long way to help people get and stay healthy :) well done! |
[2012-02-18] Michelle: Ok Would be a great help to have a scanning option |
[2012-01-09] Emma: Great |
[2011-09-10] Kieran: Interesting concept, needs a searchable product database and barcode reader. Manual input of everything sucks. |
[2011-09-06] Alex: Lots of potential, but definitely need meaningful explanation of what traffic lights actually mean. |
[2011-09-06] cradash: Could be great Has the potential to be great if the coder took all of the input from the users and made a database then sent the finished product to the users. |
[2011-09-05] Alfred: Not very useful. You still have to read the label and enter the data. It just tells you if the product is over some limit. Needs to read barcodes. |
[2011-09-05] Gaz: Needs to have a barcode entry mode which links back to a downloadable database of fat, etc levels. |
[2011-09-05] Samantha: No search button after the search field - search is useless! |
[2011-09-05] Mark: Nice idea but needs a pre populated database of common items and a barcode scanner. I applaud the sentiments behind this, but isn't really a smart app |
