The application PillReminder tells you daily at a chosen time to take the birth control pill.
Contraception with 21, 22, 28, 35 or 91 pills is supported.

Besides this, the following features are included:

-Vibrate (instead, or in addition to the ringtone)

An option to remove advertising through in-app purchases is in the works; meanwhile, the paid versions of PillReminder were removed from the Play store due to the new licensing requirements, which put the task of license management on the developer, that is, myself. Please forgive the annoyance.

Technical notice: like with the Android alarm clock, your device must be powered on for the reminder to function; for this reason and in order to avoid any force-close issue related to fast boot mode, you should put your device in airplane mode instead of turning it off at night and disable fast boot mode when this option exists on your device (HTC).
Regarding daylight saving time, you should set it up manually in order to avoid "timezone changes" due to the former (please see the in-app FAQ available under menu->FAQ for details)
As for SD-card r/w access, it is needed in order to pre-load the interstitial ads before their display.

Permissions - Lightning Bug currently requires the following permissions on your Android device.

Your Location – course (network-based) location
Only used if you enable Lightning Bug’s local weather feature which is disabled by default. If you enable the local weather feature, only your latitude and longitude are sent to a trusted weather reporting service.

Network Communications – full Internet access
Required for downloading extra content including sound, image, and program files from 1908 Media servers. If you have Lightning Bug’s local weather feature enabled, Internet access is also required for contacting a 3rd party weather reporting service.

Storage – modify/delete SD card contents
Required for storing and managing extra content including sound, image, and program files.

Phone Calls – read phone state and identity
Required so that scene and alarm audio can be ducked (partially to fully muted) during phone calls.

System Tools – disable keylock, prevent phone from sleeping
Keylock control is required by Lightning Bug’s alarm system. Screen and sleep controls are required to keep the Lightning Bug digital clock andor scene player visible (this is the default behavior, however you can override using Lightning Bug’s Screen Timeout feature)

System Tools – send sticky broadcast
Lightning Bug uses ‘Sticky Intents’ as a part of its alarm system. The app broadcasts a single sticky intent whenever the alarm clock goes off. This is a standard permission among most android applications providing alarm clock features.
