[2012-10-13] Justina: similar to the iPhone version but... I was previously using an iPhone and have been using this app for a number of years! This was the first app I downloaded when I swapped to an Android phone. Has some the functionality of the app for iPhone but missing a number of items, i.e. ability to see 2 balances on the "home screen" of the app. It would be 5 starts if the app had same functionalities... |
[2012-10-09] amoudioo: Wonderful I have this on my iphone and ipad now on note 2 It's the best among other. No complains thank you |
[2012-10-02] Dennis: Just what I needed I have been using PocketMoney for about 2 months. My requirements are: 1) Import and export, 2) Check number, 3) Category and Sub-category, 4) Remarks/Notes, 5) Current balance and Cleared balance, 6) Scheduled transactions. PocketMoney has all of these except Sub-category, but it has a field called Class, which kind of functions as a sub-category, so I am giving this app 5 stars. It also has some budgeting features, but i don't need them and haven't tried them. |
[2012-09-09] Steave: Doesn't work Doesn't work on my Android. The user's manual is for iPods and is useless with my android. |
[2012-08-26] R: I like REPORT's: need "debit" and "credit" totals at bottom of charts. Other than that. . . good $ app! |
[2012-08-23] Nitchapatr: Love it Can't live without this app. |
[2012-08-23] Matt: Great app Very functional checkbook register. Sync isn't assigning my ip address correctly, though. Fix for 5 stars. |
[2012-08-21] satnam: Really the winner I am using this application for 3.5+ years now. I used iPhone, Windows and Android version. I really appreciate this application features and versatility. It has really good features which includes budgeting, multiple accounts, many account types, split transaction, text search, strong import/export. |
[2012-08-21] Tony: AWESOME Love the option of syncing transactions with my Ipad to my Android phone. This is rare in finance apps. |
[2012-08-14] Chantal: Does not work and no service: avoid I downloaded and paid for it after reading the positive reviews... There is some bug right at the beginning. The simple instructions given on the first page said to press the "account" button to set up the accounts... right from there nothing happened. I tried and tried and tried... I removed the programm, installed it acouple times: nothing and no answer from the developper or customer service. Avoid it otherwise you're going to loose your money |
[2012-08-13] Maha: Great app No other money app can compare on Android and I've gone through quite a few. Every once in a while there are bugs and instability, but the developer is usually quick to respond and as of the writing of this latest review, the app is working perfectly again. It syncs very nicely and quickly with PMD, and although it's taken a long time to get features such as syncing and budgets, we actually finally have them on PocketMoney Android. Only reason I'm not giving a 5 is because of past issues (which are now resolved). Keep up the good work, Catamount Software! |
[2012-08-11] Gypsy Jane: Disappointed I hesitate to trust my money records to this program. When the Android app help link downloads an iPhone manual, I expect other quality control issues. I am glad the desktop has free trial. I won't be buying it. Too many features lacking. |
[2012-08-09] Benjamin: Great personal finance app Been using this for years on iphone. Since moving over to android this was my first purchase and I was not disappointed. Same excellent functionality. Update: had a few problems using Android 4.1 but great support from catamount team means update fixed my problems with in a week. Can't ask for more from a support team :-) |
[2012-08-08] Stuart: Samsung S 3 update glitch Since the last update it is impossible to edit repeating transactions once posted. This negates the use of repeating transactions where the amount might change each month i.e. credit card bills. It worries me that an update is released that clearly hasn't been tested. |
[2012-08-03] PJ: Pj Sync with PC don't work. Fix it and I'll be back. |
[2012-07-27] Inder: Love it!!! I have been PM user for over 10 years on 3 different platforms & have always loved this program .I highly recommend desktop companion version to sync data across multiple devices & different operating systems . P.S. There is a learning curve, take time to view video guides and review user's guide. |
[2012-07-27] Simon: The best finance manager out there Hardy, Do you understand how great Pocket Money is? Without it my life would have been a mess. I use it to budget a modest salary while paying 2 mortgages, 1 with my ex wife, the current home I live in and a self managed superannuation fund paying off a business mortage. I pay child support and spouse support to my ex wife as well as "lend her" money to pay her balance of the ex marital home she lives in as well as keep track of 30% of expenses I pay as per my legal agreement with her. Under our divorce orders I have produce a quarterly statement that summarizes what I owe her less what I loaned her for the same period. On to of this I have to run a household budget that doesn't go into the red on around $50,000 per year. All this would be virtually impossible or at least very difficult without Pocket Money that controls all my budgets and runs all my reports. I am theoretically left with about $100 for my self for the next financial year! Old apps like Quicken and Microsoft Money were toys in comparison to what you designed. And I could not imagine having my life in control without Pocket Money. Simply the best financial application out there, period. |
[2012-07-27] Lynne: Fix Repeating Transaction I'm gonna still give 4 stars hoping that soon they will fix repeating transaction bug. |
[2012-07-23] Yuyun: Yuyun Great application I like it |
[2012-07-21] Stacey: Sort out the glitch please Not sure whats happened since the last update but if I need to edit a repeated transaction amount, it won't let me save the new amount. I have to delete the transaction and start again. Not happy if I have to do this every month as it completely defeats the object of being able to repeat teansactions. Also if I change a repeating transaction to a one time only transaction it deletes it entirely. This app has been brilliant up until now but not happy with these new changes! Please sort it out!! |
[2012-07-20] Niki: App consistently crashing Crashing when trying to input anything from repeating transactions to everyday expense - had been working fine up til now! |
[2012-07-14] Antony: A comprehensive fiancial tool on Android phone I used this apps in iphone for long time and now switch to Galaxy S3. I searched tried many other apps in Android, but finally choose back this one. All my data in iphone can be transferred vis Pocket Sync to S3 perfectly! |
[2012-07-13] Kidu: Best of bunch I have used this software on iPhones and now it's installed (at a Birthday offering price) on My galaxy Note. It works nice and simply, after setting up accounts and transactions. I tried other packages, but none of them had the ease of use this one has. Never had a day's trouble with it and I would wholeheartedly recommend for anyonewanting something better than an 'Expenses' type app and not a full-bore package. |
[2012-07-04] MoMad: Just terrible My friend recommended this app to me and after playing around with it on the iPhone, I was convinced it was exactly what I was looking for. I found it on the market and started using it on my HTC Desire HD. The UI is very clunky and things don't work right. It force closes very often. Editing recurring transactions causes them to be doubled. Budget feature just doesn't work. Then I read the reviews to see if others are having similar problems and was appalled to see so many similar complaints. Don't buy!!!! |
[2012-07-01] Alfonso: Fix Error When I first run this app I get an error message. I have to select it twice. |
[2012-06-16] Hoksing: Just install but a little disapointed I just installed for android version and for my first look the budget currency always on £ And seems it's now linked with the exchange rates also. Please fix this. Thanks a lot. I would like to give 5stars but seem will not yet. |
[2012-06-12] Goldo72: finally a long overdue update can't wait for it to be like iPhone version. Then it will be a 5 star... finally a long overdue update |
[2012-06-03] Webby: Great for on the Go I seem to never be around my house when I want to log something. This app is great. I have the iOS versions as well on my iPad and iPod and also on my Mac. Everything is in sync and I have all of my content when I need it. The android version isn't as polished as the iOS one but, it gets the job done for me. |
[2012-05-25] Rick: 1+ Year of Use -- Awesome App! I've been using this every day now for over a year. Very nice software for tracking your checkbook. It's stable, it can handle lots of data with ease, and it just works. It allows you to know exactly where you are. I reconcile daily using this in conjunction with my bank's app. It is great for entering my recurring expenses and being able to forecast what my balance will be on any given day in the coming month. In fact, I've stopped using Quicken altogether -- this app alone does what I need. |
[2012-05-16] William: The paid version of this program will not inport QIF files. The free version will but half the files were missing. Needs work. |
[2012-04-15] Suzanne: Great Love the application |
[2012-04-08] Sam: Not that good Where is the budget? |
[2012-04-06] Frank: Superb! I finally decided it was time to ditch my Quicken 2002 which has served me well for ten years! I bought Pocket Money Desktop for my PC and my Quicken accounts transferred seamlessly. After getting to know the desktop operation I bought the Android app and held my breath whilst it synchronised with my PC. It was flawless. I am delighted with both applications which are, in my opinion, worth every penny. I had one question about hiding extinct accounts and this was answered very quickly on the Pocket Money forum. I admit to getting very frustrated by idiots such as John below who, because of a glitch which has caused his account to be debited more than once, accuses the developer of being a thief. Does he really think that in this day and age that any reputable developer would do this on purpose? They would be out of business in no time if that was the case. My account was debited once and I am totally delighted with the app and with the service I've received so far. |
[2012-04-05] john: Rip Do not buy Was charged $4.99 four times for a total of $20.00 installed on tablet and phone was charged twice. I purchased this because I could sync beteeen the two but was charged twice again to sync the two. Syned one time wont sync anymore. What a rip off and scam.Want a refund. Do not buy!!!!!! |
[2012-03-28] David: Bittersweet This app leaves me longing for the iOS version that I also paid a pretty penny for. Now, I pay the same price, and get fewer features... |
[2012-03-26] Jonathan: Difficult to use Using on a Samsung Galaxy SGH-I727. Trying to find an app that syncs Quicken Desktop with a mobile app. Thought that PocketMoney would do the trick. Took a bit of time trying figure out where exactly I had to save the export file our of Quicken for PocketMoney to see it on the mobile device. PocketMoney looks for any import files in datapocketMoney on teh mobile device but does not automatically create the folder when installed. Followed the initial sync instructions but none of the beginning balances from the desktop came over to PocketMoney. Spent the time to enter beginning balances in PocketMoney on the mobile device. Entered a couple of transactions and then proceeded to to "sync" PocketMoney wiht Quicken. Exported the QIF file and then imported into quicken. Doubled up some credit card and checking account balances and generally through off several balances. Make a backup of you desktop file BEFORE importing anything from PocketMoney. Haven't deleted the app yet since it $5.00 and still am looking for a good mobile Quicken solution. Will continue to work on the export/import issue. |
[2012-03-21] Jennifer: Only rating poor now bc I can't use it bc every time I open it, it force closes on me. And I've sent many emails to have issue fixed and its not. |
[2012-03-12] littletime: Better I am revising my review on the basis that the product is much improved and performs the basic function satisfactorily. My benchmark remains the excellent iOS version of this software however and this compares unfavorably in that it is less intuitive. |
[2012-02-07] thirdaxis: Woe is Android Edition This review is for the Android version. The app is lacking in style and functionality when compared to its iOS cousin...there is still no budget functionality in this edition. What is keeping that from rolling over across all editions? Otherwise a great and convenient app for tracking your current balances. |
[2012-01-19] Bill: Not as good as on iOS but improving Its not bad but still seriously lacking in stability and features compared to the iOS version. |
[2012-01-19] Domino: Great Program For Me I have been migrating from Win Mobile and having a money program that would sync with the desktop has been one of the reasons I have resisted, but with this program it has made my transition final to Android. I use the Toshiba Thrive Tablet and when I asked them to setup their program so that the password could be entered in landscape mode instead of portrait, they were prompt in adding that feature. The program is exactly what I need and I don't have to use all the bells and whistles, but it is nice to have them if I want them. I find the program to do exactly as it states and is pretty user intuitive. I do chuckle that it calls my tablet and phone ipads ahd iphones when it syncs, but as long as it syncs, I don't care what it calls my devices as long as the information gets where it needs to go. Thanks a lot gang for the software. |
[2012-01-16] Marquisa: That Pop Up Box Ok I had this app for a long time and now I'm getting that pop up box stating I need to purchase which I had long time ago. Fix this. Can't access my data now. |
[2011-12-28] Rev: Going backwards Don't buy the Android version, try it out first. The iphone version was great, but the Android version has been marginal at best. One bug was fixed, but now it won't show a correct future balance into next year. Getting support is almost impossible. |
[2011-12-09] rabel: RIP OFF Really getting sick of this pop-up box thing saying "Application not licenced" and asking me to buy WHAT I"VE ALREADY PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because I do not keep a constant internet connection I'm not getting the product I've paid for when I need it. This application spends more time refusing to work as it tries to connect via internet to check if registered! |
[2011-11-22] Adrian: Great iOS app, but this version is more run of the mill. Improving, but still a work in progress. |
[2011-11-21] Mike: Not there yet. I use this on my wifes iphone and it is great. It is way behind on the android device. added 11/21/2011 Once they got it to sync with PMD, there has been zero support since July. It is almost like they have stopped development for it. |
[2011-11-19] Louie: Can't live without it I quickly bought this app as i had it when i had an iphone. Id give it 5 stars but its still missing some functionality that the iphone version has. |
[2011-10-21] Keith: Updated Review: Still lacking Two steps forward, 1 step back. Using Dropbox to backup and restore results in only a partial restore of transactions. This is absurd. What is the sense of having this option if it only results in a false sense security since you will lose some transactions on a restore. |
[2011-08-19] David: When it can sync I'll give it a higher rating |
[2011-08-10] Jay: Works on EVO |
[2011-08-03] Paul: Better. Latest version shows a marked improvement. UI still needs work....but it's better and QIF export seems to be working correctly now. |
[2011-07-31] Victor: Forced closed after update. Did the same last update. Had to unistall/reinstall/manually reload data. Getting extremely annoying. Please FIX ASAP! |
[2011-07-31] Pablo: Greatness has finally arrived. Great job updating, took long enough but its finally where it should be. |
[2011-07-30] Jimmy: Promete mucho pero aún le falta mucha funcionalidad a diferencia de la versión de iphone... |
[2011-07-29] CharlieC: Yes, the best! It really is the best one. I've used it on my iTouch for years and I'm so happy that I can have it on my Droid now!! |
[2011-07-29] Marc: Pushed out a 2nd update to solve FC issues. Still not happy with the rate of progression shud have stayed in beta for longer. |
[2011-07-28] beach: My most used app. Flexible but with easy functionality, responsive dev. This is the one. |
[2011-07-15] Tim: Why will the summary screen only show me my balances in dollars when the currency is set to British Pound? Really annoying. |
[2011-07-12] James: The Best on the iPhone, Android version is getting there hopefully. Love the layout & view options; cleared, future, c |
[2011-07-04] David: They fixed the bugs with the latest update and it is working flawlessly. It syncs with my iPad and my wife's iPhone. It is awesome and I love it. |
[2011-07-02] Korakoch: Finally get features I have been waiting for. Thanks for good supporting and well development process. |
[2011-07-02] Bishop: I've use a lot of free and pay apps for maintaining your finances and nothing beats this one. A+++ |
[2011-07-02] MadSquabbles: it's come a long way. still not as good as ios ver. import qif is very good, but export puts some trans into wrong accts. |
[2011-07-01] Henry: Best financial app on market and support unparalleled! Work's perfectly on Droid with desktop!!! |
[2011-06-30] Kristy: It's finally here! I've been suffering through without it but the pain is over. Best checkbook app out there abd I've tried them all! Thanks! |
[2011-06-29] Mohammed: The application had a bug and for two months I didn't receive a solution/feedback although they know about it. Related to repeating transictions |
[2011-06-28] Steve: Update broke! |
[2011-06-27] striders: Much worst than then Palm or iPhone version I used Pocket Money since the day of PalmOS and iPhone versions and the Android version just does NOT deliver at all. It missing tons of functionality, such as reporting, and the UI (User Interface) is not intuitive. Just look at the iPhone version from Apple website and you'll know. Also, this app has NOT been updated since April 2011 and if you go to Catamount forum, it seems the developer doesn't care about the Android platform, hence the app just bad. |
[2011-06-02] John: Very easy to use excellent value for money. |
[2011-05-25] philip: Had this app on ipod touch and thought it was v.good. Android version helps keep track of balances, but no reporting facility is poor. |
[2011-05-24] DJ Disturbed: Needs an auto backup feature. Had to factory reset my evo and lost all my data |
[2011-05-02] Bill: Junk... Installed it and started getting forceclose on everything. Uninstalled and my phone is fine. Don't waste your money. |
[2011-04-12] Blake: Where r the really cool pie charts? The iphone app my wife uses has pie charts...r they coming soon? Still love the app. |
[2011-04-04] Gillian: Lovin' this app!! Also, great support from Catamount. |
[2011-04-02] Max: This is not the same outstanding program available for iOS. I believe that it will catch up, but there isn't a budget feature until at least v.2.0 |
[2011-03-26] Mandee: Loved it on the iPhone hopefully they will add the additional features |
[2011-03-17] Tim: Works good after update |
[2011-03-16] dn: Getting there. But force closes when exporting qif files. Both email and sdcard |
[2011-03-10] Danny: Not nearly as good as the ios version. Very picky with qif files. The exports don't import into quicken like the ios ver does. |
[2011-03-10] Adrian: This is a terrific iOS app, but oh Catamount, what have you done? The Android version works, just, but is clumsy and limited. Needs lots of work. |
[2011-03-09] DJ Unix: Long time Palmos owner, been waiting on Android version. Only issue I find so far is no longer the ability to auto increment check #'s. |
[2011-03-03] no one: Some solved I just got a Galaxy. The decimal point shows on that phone and everything seems to work better. The Galaxy is running Android 2.2. The Galaxy 3 runs 2.1, If your app is geared for the newer OS, you need to tell those who might be interested. |
[2011-02-28] Keith: Longtime supporter on iOS but Android version lack I switch phones from iPhone to an Android based phone and was excited to see that Catamount had a PocketMoney version available for the Android. What I quickly found out was the Android version is very lacking. Some of the big complaints that I have is searching. On the iOS version you can search across all of your accounts for example Radioshack. As you begin typing the name "Radio" it immediately pops up as well as anything else that begins with "Radio", not so on the Android version. Stay clear for now. |
[2011-02-26] Mark: Seven days and counting for answer to support question..... |
[2011-02-26] Kevin: Seven days and counting for answer to support question..... |
[2011-02-23] Marc: Please hurry up and fix the repeating transactions you are taking ages about it!! App is very time consuming without it |
[2011-02-21] QuantumRGB: Used to use this software on my old Palm handheld, and it worked great. Installed on my Android and keeps FCing when I try to type. Removed. |
[2011-02-21] thecomputerguy74: Used to use this software on my old Palm handheld, and it worked great. Installed on my Android and keeps FCing when I try to type. Removed. |
[2011-02-20] Keith: the text is to small for some phones. 5 stars if it could be made larger. |
[2011-02-19] James: Best on the iPhone, but Android version needs work. I hope to return the 5 stars soon when it is fixed. |
[2011-02-15] btate: I was excited until I used it I really enjoyed this app on the iOS platform. however it's performance on android is buggy and unreliable. I have to fudge with the transactions so much that I'm finding I have to wait until the end of the day to enter transactions so that i have enough time to get it right, which defeats the purpose of having my checkbook in my pocket. cosmetically it's awesome. I love this port aside from the cleanup that needs to be done. 5 stars when it's fixed. |

[2011-02-14] Leonard C.: I think it is junk. |
[2011-02-14] Leonard: I think it is junk. |
[2011-02-09] John: Love it! Used it for years on the iPhone. Five stars when budgeting and more features added. Farewell to the paper register. |
[2011-02-07] slang1998: It's great app. I'm using this app on my iphone too. I just want to know when the multiple currency is supported. |
[2011-02-07] Bug: I loved this app on my palm. I can't wait to be able to use it, but I need to be able to sync between two devices |
[2011-02-07] Natalie: Had this on my ipod now on my samsung. Works great and no glitches found yet. |
[2011-02-06] Maha: Thank you for finally releasing an Android version. Thank you for enabling landscape support! Would love to have bill reminders and budgeting. |
[2011-02-05] Minh: Used this on iphone and it was the best app. Android version almost as good but missing wifi sync. |
