Loot is a bank account ledger. It supports simple budgeting, multiple accounts, repeating transactions, tag- and party-based searching, automatic transaction purging, account transfers, and sorting.

One of the best ledger apps I just wish it was still updated. It would be nice to be able to put in account numbers too, maybe require a pin to view them. On my S4 the number pad that shows up doesn't have a decimal option so I think there was a small API change to how numbers get entered.

Update: Still the best financial app out there for budgeting and account management, but is LONG overdue for an update. I would gladly pay $5 additional just to get this app updated and I am sure I am not alone. Original comments: Premium now works great with importing QIF Quicken files! Great app, simple to use, but not lacking anything. I like the "bugeted" $ feature.

Brilliant I've tried a whole bunch of finance apps and always return to this. Not the prettiest UI but the most reliable and effective. This is also the one that doesnt insist on clearing my balance on a fixed date allowing for a rolling balance.

Never could start the app Just cycles through all the user tips and won't do anything else. Unimpressed! Did you try opening the app at some point after you designed it?

Excellent App Loot is the best checking app I've used yet. It stores the names of your payors so it's easy to enter the information while you're standing in the checkout line, and the ability to back-up the database to the SD card is invaluable if you ever have to perform a master reset on your phone. It's definitely a 4 star app, and the only reason I am not rating it 5 stars has to do with some basic functions and sort features that need to be added, such as the ability to have uncleared items at the top of the list so old transactions do not get "lost" when balancing the checkbook.

Loot Use this for christmas shopping. Credit account with the amount u want to spend on your child then log as you spend. Also enables you to wuickly see what you have bought each kid. Brilliant

OOPS! This program is very promising on my 3.2 OS tablet but I wanted it for my phone which is a 4.0 OS. Can't seem to find the menu. I get the message "Use the menu to add new accounts" but no menu shows up anywhere either on my taskbar or within the program. Needs an update to bring it into the ICS era

Tried loads but always end up sticking with loot I've tried loads of money management apps but still find myself sticking with loot after 18 months. This wins hands down, its easy to use, the budgeting feature is good. Just wish it was updated with a better widget for ICS.

Long Time User I've been using this app for over a year and I love it. I use it in combination with mint. I've tried others to see if there is anything better out there and I always end up deleting them and sticking with Loot. Catchy name for the app too :)

Missing some records on restore I use Loot (Premium) almost every other day, as I'm not aware of a better app for capturing my financial transactions. Unfortunately, the several times I've had to factory-reset my phone have met with subsequent frustration when I: backup Loot to SD, reset my phone, restore Loot from SD, and find that all of my transactions (across all accounts) are there, save for the last week's worth. :( Early on, Chris was very responsive to inquiries and suggested features, but a few e-mails to him over the last year or so about this issue have gone unanswered. Sadly, I imagine that life has interfered with his plan to create a kickin' finance app, as it hasn't been updated since late 2010 and doesn't look like it will be. One day, I imagine that an OS update will render some aspect(s) of the app unusable, so I probably should start looking to see what else is out there that does the job. (Of course, I'll be delighted to revise this middle-of-the-road review if I see some activity on the app.)

The math for posted transations was wrong The amount for my posted transactions did not match my bank statement so I went back, checked and re-checked that I had entered everything correctly and the total was still incorrect. I even went one by one to check the math and found that whole dollar amounts would deduct correctly, but not transactions that included change. If I can't be confident that I'm looking at an accurate account balance, I can't possibly use this app. De-installed.

Great App I got a new phone and looked at getting a new finance app but nothing I found can stand up to this one. I love bring able to set up transfers without having to go to each account and set up separate transactions. I like the 'posted' check boxes right on the transaction list. It's simple to use but has all the options I need.
