The Kelly Strategy is a method to maximize the long-term rate of return (ROI) on a series of investments or bets.

The Kelly Bet Basic calculator provides criterion for deciding whether an investment is worthwhile or just a loss or whether you will start investing with enough money to protect yourself against ultimate loss. These criterion include the Kelly expectation and the Probability of Ruin. The main output of the calculator is the optimal amount and fraction of one's investment bankroll to invest on the opportunity being studied.

The calculator itself comes with an in-app tutorial and notes for utilizing the Kelly Strategy.   Calculate the total payment, amount per person, total tip and tip percentage, specifying the check amount and number of persons splitting the check. Select to calculate the tip based on the total check amount or by the check amount minus tax.  Calculated results for  Payment,  Per Person,  Total Tip and Tip% can be rounded up or down.
