[2013-09-05] A Google User: Wow this works with my Hava over 4G I've had my Hava for years now and to this day still have not found a reason to upgrade to another box and after installing this app I was shocked to find out that I am able to access my Hava over 4g very easily with Mt Galaxy S3. Amazing! I am not going to update this app because I'm scared that Monsoon might take away this feature or they don't know about it. My old Hava and this app are as good as any of the other streamers on the market today. |

However, the fix took 5 months and tech support acted as if I was the only one with the problem. There would have been a lot more people who were understanding if you guys had just said "We're aware of the problem and we're working on a solution". In fairness to us, the customer, we payed good money for the hardware so this is in no way a "free" application. |

Only gripe is the poor framerate on streams. Its not my box its valkano that causes the poor frames. Idk it just seems to be 12fps instead of 24. |

And 2/3 of the last seen screen will stay on the phone even when home button is pressed. Is there any samsung user have this problem? |

They don't bother to tell you this when you buy it. They should be sewed for false advertising. Also, I've read through reviews for the paid version and there is no guarantee it will work with that either. DO NOT BUY PAID VERSION. Monsoon can fix this with a try before you buy version that works. But far be it for me to tell ignorant people how to run their business. |

After paying the $12.99 and installing it works great with my HTC Amaze. The stream is very good and my audio is in sync without any problems. |

[2012-09-25] A Google User: 4.3.204 Fixes Verizon Network Streaming Finally, my Verizon phones now stream over the network on the high setting. Before 4.3.204 (9/25/12) the app would stream at the low bit rate even when high was selected. The quality difference was obvious. Did this on all my Verizon phones (Thunderbolt, Fascinate, GS3, Nexus) Would stream high on wifi fine, even if I was tethering from a Verizon device. Now works straight over the network. |

The problem is whenever you press a button on the virtual remote control, it goes into the never-ending "buffering..." at least it sends the command so that multiple exits and re-starts of the app eventually gets you somewhere. but it's still unacceptably painful. |

Most of the problem,when I have it, is the 3 g service is spotty. Wifi no problems. I carry an hdmi cable with me when I travel and watch my home tv on my lap top just plugit into hdmi on the tv in my room. |

Third, make it to where med and high quality on my tablet don't get all choppy. The lowest quality is unwatchable due to shear resolution, but the med and high quality are choppy and unwatchable. [2012-02-12] A Google User: You get what you pay for! This app works with the Vulkano place shifting boxes most of these products also support DVR. It's a decent app but it could use a few improvements: cleaner interface, reliable guide when using the DVR feature but it does what it says it will do. If you're willing to live with its flaws (most of my recorded shows are labeled chicago hope none of them actually are i could manually label them but i don't) when you factor in the cost of the hardware there's no other solution at this pricepoint (that I know of). |

I was ready to trade in my HAVA Platinum for a Vulkano, but this free Vulkano Player works great with my Hava on my Samsung Captivate Glide running Gingerbread 2.3.6 I wish the resolution was a bit better even on "high" mode, I need to go look into all of my device settings and see if there are any improvements possible. After reading other's comments, I UNchecked the "update automatically" option on the install page -- if it aint broke don't fix it -- considering there appears to be stability issues after some updates. I guess I just feel extremely lucky that it works!! considering HAVA's terrible tech support, I will take what I can get. |

[2012-02-06] A Google User: Nearly works with Archos 43; Perfect with Motorola See UPDATES at end. Initially, this software worked very well with the combination of an old Hava (now called Monsoon) Platinum and the new Archos 43 tablet, but after a few connections, it seems to be increasingly unstable, and the software reports it "has stopped unexpectedly". I can't complain, since the software is not advertised as working with either. Hopefully, there will eventually be stable software for the Android tablets. UPDATE 1 as of 1/29/2012: Thanks for the update, Monsoon; the apt now works on my Archos43! Still not perfect...the aspect ratio is not quite right, but the picture is stable and I can change channels with the virtual remote. UPDATE2: Works perfect with my new Motorola Bravo from Consumer Cellular. |
