Touchsquid Remote Demo (v. 2.66) Разработано Touchsquid Technologies |
Not recommended for Phones! Works best on Samsung tablets that have built in IR, otherwise you need and external blaster. Please don't leave bad reviews without sending a report to support@touchsquid.com so we can help you.
Demo too limited? Try one of the new low cost 30 day paid trial versions. Upgrade to the unlimited version before the trial expires, and we'll refund the cost of the trial.
If you get a Blocked Install message go to your tablets Settings>Security and check the unknown sources box.
Uninstallation: Turn off Google Play automatic updates. Uninstall Touchsquid settings, TouchSquid remote and the manual.
Too many remotes? Let us solve the issue for you. Let your Tablet or phone become the best remote you ever used. Activity based (Watch TV, Play Blu-Ray, Listen to Music, etc.)
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Tab Plus and Note 10.1 devices with built in IR can be used without any additional equipment.
The TouchSquid PRO remote app is the same one used on the TouchSquid tablet, adapted to run on devices that lack an Infrared transmitter. It works best on a tablet.
The full choice of devices and setups is present in the demo app, so you can get a very good idea of how to use it. Note for repeat Volume UP and DOWN hold down the hard volume button on the device,
The comprehensive manual is at touchsquid.com/TShelp/
You can use this free Demo version of the Touchsquid Remote app to test your device and make sure it runs without problems. The demo has limited functions and expires in 21 days.
On a generic tablet you will need an external Wi-Fi blaster. We support devices from Global Cache, Keene, and IRTrans.
We cannot make it support Sony Tablet S or Vizio built in IR blasters due to a lack of manufacturer provided info.
Please give us feed back to support@touchsquid.com if it behaves badly on your device. There are over 600 compatible devices and we have not been able to test them all.
Note: This is a 3 part app, it requires that you allow installation from "Unknown Sources" before you run it the first time.

[2012-12-11] A Google User: Too many functions locked for decent evaluation. Demo version locks out too many function buttons. For my JVC amp, only Power Toggle seemed to work. Program will probably work alright but it is not enough for proper evaluation for such an expensive program. I hope this would be a good candidate as alternative to a logiv universal remote, but again, I have not been able to test it, which is really too bad! |

[2012-12-02] A Google User: Hhhjj Wtf sucks |
[2012-11-29] A Google User: Sucked! Didn't work on EITHER of my devices! |
[2012-11-25] A Google User: Not working Have S3 and Samsung LED LCD tv and dont work |
[2012-11-15] A Google User: Terrible Can't tell if the demo is too limited or if the app just doesn't work. |
[2012-10-29] A Google User: Sucked. Froze my phone for about 2 minutes, then tried to install all kinds of crap. When I UNinstalled it. It wouldn't go away. Now.. I'm stuck with it using up my memory. -.- |
[2012-10-28] A Google User: "Not available in demo" Terrible. Only allows tv to be turned on and off in demo after a nauseating 5min setup and reinstalling/updating itself 3 times. The demo does little more than the example picture on Google play. |
[2012-10-19] A Google User: Works great, the way forward for home automation Easy set up, nice people to deal with if any issues, I'm convinced to upgrade to pro to unleash the extra benefits. When you compare cost of this this to other high end remotes Harmony etc, it's a no brainer. Very happy. Added on edit, works perfectly on my 7" Galaxy Tab 2. |
[2012-10-17] A Google User: Good app but too pricey Easy to set up and works well. I'd easily buy this for $10 but $20 is too much. |
[2012-10-12] A Google User: Won't run Once downloaded from Google Play, attempts update and complains my device's security settings block installs outside Google Play. I don't trust this behaviour. Uninstalling. Shame :( |
[2012-10-05] A Google User: GREAT customer service! They added my missing device in less than a day! |
[2012-09-28] A Google User: Crap Crap. What kind of an idiot thinks this is worth 50$ |
[2012-09-27] A Google User: Galaxy Note 10.1 A bit fiddly to set up, and I've only been playing for 15 minutes or so, but it controls my Samsung tv, my sky box, and my WDTV Live. I'll buy the Samsung version of this if it continues to live up to early promise. |
[2012-09-26] A Google User: Don't install Setup is a pain. Asks to install updates, help packages, etc. Not even worth to try. |
[2012-09-17] A Google User: Bought this on amazon. It worked on some devices and not others so I decided to take them up on their money back guarantee. They sent me this in reply: "I am sorry the app did not work out for you. It would be nice to know why so we can try to improve. Amazon does not allow us to make refunds. You will have to contact amazon customer service directly. Sorry!" GSIphone They offer a guarantee and then sell it through a vendor who they say will not let them refund my money. There you have it. Update: Amazon has refunded the money but made it clear that is against their policy to do so. I was asked by the seller to make this clear and they really do seem to care about their app. I believe they are honest and if you are someone who is technically minded they will help you with most any compatibility problems you may encounter. For me it would be too much work to go back and forth programming to get everything working to my satisfaction so I and happy they allowed a refund. This is the only product of it's kind I have found for the tab 2 and may well be worth it to users who have lots of devices they wish to control from one source. It was not for me and I am thankful to amazon who made an exception. |
[2012-09-05] A Google User: Come on !!! Downloaded trial version. Wouldnt even let me test volume, how am i supposed to see if higher level functions work. $20 is a crazy price for an app that basically transmits public domain remote codes, especially when you can' t even test it properly before buying. Can't wait until other get holdnof app toolnkit and make a reasonably priced remote. |
[2012-09-03] A Google User: It wants you to try free version first to see if you like it but when you go to turn station n etc, it says doesn't Work on demo. |
[2012-09-02] A Google User: Skype tv NZ When it supports sky in NZ let me know |
[2012-09-01] A Google User: Complicated Also doesn't seem to work on rooted tab 2s. |
[2012-08-23] A Google User: Bad Wants i to keep updatin 95% of it is on the pro AVOID this app |
[2012-08-12] A Google User: Could not open. Evo 3D. |
[2012-08-03] A Google User: Too Limited Can't test it fully. The pro version is way too expensive. Especially when Samsung gives you an app for free. |
[2012-07-29] A Google User: Not ready This app needs a LOT of work to be useable. Setup is a pain in the %==, with no integration between the app & help settings. Setup is not intuitive, I could go on... |
[2012-07-27] A Google User: B Doesn't open |
[2012-07-20] A Google User: F |
[2012-07-11] A Google User: Its alright The app works but needs alot more to get my 19.00. Built in guide and an updated UI. The current UI looks kinda 90's TiVo. Dijit has got a pretty decent idea just a little cramped on a 7in tab |
[2012-07-10] A Google User: NOT FOR ME Takes way too much memory on my Galaxy s 4G or Epic 4G....depending on who's network uses the phone.....I like the idea behind it, I just need a new phone or tab to make it somethin I would use. If they want to buy me a free Galaxy Tab I would be happy to use and promote for them. I am looking at 4 remotes now, and two are supposed to b universal. But imagine a wifi connected remote....All my media at my fingertips....Ahhhh (evil laugh). When that Galaxy Tab Comes to me, I will for sure install this. |
[2012-07-08] A Google User: Incredible app on Galaxy Tab 2 7" Fantastic app. My Phillips Pronto was dying a slow death, some online research led me to this app. It does require some intelligence on the user's part, it is not a game you install and play without some knowledge of what you are trying to accomplish. So far it is working great with my Tablet, Yamaha RX-A1010, Mitsubishi DLP TV, Popcorn Hour a110, Sony Blu Ray and Xbox 360. Due to the sheer complexity alone and how well it worked for me this app deserves a solid 4.75 stars. It works well and could use a "little" refinement. The developers are very responsive, and did put a lot of thought into making setup a snap. I'm sure some people will run into issues, there are thousands of devices you can control and it is impossible to have them all included. Besides having a device that is not included in their database I cannot imagine not being satisfied. |
[2012-06-27] A Google User: Improvements Work on ux and include button hold for volume, to want to click 100 times to adjust vol |
[2012-06-25] A Google User: Works... but needs refinement Giving 4 stars because it works and is pretty cool, but the app is not intuitive. Thanks for developing the app. Please hire a UX designer! Worked on my Vizio tv and LG soundbar. |
[2012-06-19] A Google User: A pair of donkey testicles would be more useful. How about a demo that actually demonstrates some functionality. Ran through the setup for a profile and device. Couldn't get it to work. |
[2012-06-07] A Google User: Very Impressed I installed this demo on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet to see if it could control an amp & blu ray player that the included Peel Remote app on the Galaxy Tab could not find. Within a couple of minutes I had everything working in an easy to use interface. Well worth upgrading to the Home version |
[2012-05-31] A Google User: It finally works! The dev has finally gotten this app to work with the Samsung Tab 2. |
[2012-05-29] A Google User: Does not work I tried the Demo Touchsquid version 2.11 with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet on a Samsung PN58P650S1F TV and on a Sony BDP-S570 blu-ray player. I could not get either one to turn on. |
[2012-05-26] A Google User: Very nice One thing I must say is the Developer is very good on answering questions and requests. Now that the home and pro version supports the built in IR in the galaxy tab this is a must buy for me. |
[2012-05-14] A Google User: Doesn't work. Can't find the IR Blaster built into my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Too bad. I'd buy the pro version if it worked. |
[2012-05-12] A Google User: Not a bad remote. Thinking of buying the Remote PRO app, I downloaded the demo. It seems odd to me that the paid app would get such higher ratings than the demo. The app found my GC-100 in about 15 seconds, but apparently, if you tell it you have an external blaster when you don't, it will take several minutes before it gives up looking. Also, the "Please Wait" message when starting an activity is not the app being "slow", but rather is a set delay to let devices warm up before switching inputs (adjustable in the PRO app). |
[2012-04-19] A Google User: Unbearably awful Slow - constant "please wait" spinner for 3 seconds to navigate anywhere. Agonizing. Sloppy, poorly designed UI. Bad organization. "Use external device" constantly unchecks? Config in a separate app? Cheesy looking buttons and awful sound effects. And my favorite, catching unhandled Java exceptions in-app (why do this? to cut down on crash reports?) and then asking "if you want to continue?" No, definitely not. |
[2011-12-21] A Google User: Well done 2nd review...it works on all my phones and tablets. Would've 5 starred if it had better MCE support. |
[2011-11-12] A Google User: Vtab1008 Can't find ir device on the vizio Vtab1008. Looks promising though. |
