Before air travel became easily available to everyone, long-distance trips were most often made in sleeper car trains. Operating between Tokyo or Osaka and their neighboring cities, these trains dashed throughout the country each night under starry skies. The most famous Overnight Trains were the so called Blue Trains. The sight of the distant mountains, seas and cities from the comfort of the Blue Train was like something out of a dream.
