A Speak and Spell emulator for Android. Speak and Spell is a children's educational toy from the 1980's and this app is simply for nostalgic sentiment.

I believe I have implemented all the features of the original toy.

Reminds me of Christmas morning I remember at a very young age I received one of these on Christmas. The voice is spot on. The app functions as the actual toy did. If you have a hard time figuring it out, then you might need to let your kids show you how to use it. I know we figured ours out just fine.

Buttons are very small & doesn't rotate to landscape mode! Speak & Spell is very small and buttons are very small! Fix that and the auto rotate in landscape mode and I'll give it 5 stars! My fingers kept hitting wrong button 'cause of the tiny size of the buttons!

Great recreation of TI's Speak and Spell If you had or were able to use a Speak and Spell as I did as a child, want to have some old school fun as well as want a warm sense of nostalgia I highly recommend this app. Brings back great memories! So close to the original! If you dislike the app because you dislike Speak and Spell don't rate it low. Matter of fact dont rate it at all. It's like having your speak and spell all over again! Fantastic Job at recreating one of the first cutting edge learning toys of it's time!

Galaxy s2 works great. just like the 1 I had grown up. it is hard to understand but so was the original.

no free play!!! The one thing I really liked about the real one as a child was the FREE PLAY!!! This doesn't HAVE free play!!! And one thing needed in the Android version is the ability to edit word modules, like in the iPhone version. My kids like playing with the one on my husband's phone, but not the one on my Skyrocket. PLEASE ADD MODULE EDIT OPTIONS AND FREE PLAY!!!

Oh robot voice This is fantastic! It is just how I remembered it from my childhood. And I didn't realize how much I missed that robot voice...but I do remember cursing at my brother with it when I was little. I can't wait until I see him again to start that all over.

Not a Faithful Reproduction Great voice samples, but emulation too far removed from reality. Research a real 1-line 14-segment display, for example. Algorithm bad (same word came up three times in a row).

Broken? In spell mode, the app often repeats the same two words, "one" and "warm" ad infinitum. If in the rare case it does use a different word, pressing "repeat" will always cause it to say "spell warm".

Great fun Awesome app with perfect sound samples. Major drawback is on any higher res screen (droid 4, kindle fire for example) the app is small and misaligned making it difficult to use. Hoping for an update and I would give 5 stars.
