Pony Express is a podcatcher developed by Sixgun Productions which currently supports downloading and playing of our own shows but will expand to add generic subscription support in the future.
Features include podcast downloading and playing, automatic feed refresh, download of episodes only when on WiFi and identi.ca integration (comment on the shows right from the app). Intuitive, clean UI that stays out of your way is a major focus of the application.
Pony Express is free software under GPLv3, the code can be found on Gitorious.

[2013-02-03] A Google User: What Happened? This app used to work fine. It was recently updated to include some sort of bug/feature that prevents the program from playing when the screen goes to sleep. This was never a problem before. I had no problem deleting the Angels of Death (which I had no interest in), and the app is great other than the aforementioned new bug. |

[2012-05-21] A Google User: WTH is Linux Outlaws? Silly me, I thought *I* would get to choose the podcasts I listen to. Instead, this app insists on downloading and refreshing some podcast called Linux Outlaws. It won't let me unsubscribe/remove them, and it's so busy refreshing them that I can't even TRY to search for any other `casts. Waste of bandwidth -- uninstalling. |
