Pick a Number Magic
An easy to do magic trick you can perform with your phone.
A spectator chooses a number between 1-60. A set of numbers is shown on the phone, and the spectators says if her number is visible or not. This is repeated a few more times.
When you wave your hand, the phone suddenly displays the selected number. The spectator never said what her number was, yet the number shown is the correct selection.
You can even even tell the spectator what her number was, instead of showing it on the phone.
Can be immediately repeated.
Works in any language. Instructions are in English.

[2012-03-18] Kenneth: ALMOST GREAT BUT... This is a good idea taken from a classic mentalist effect from yesteryear. I would have rated it "GREAT" and given it 5 stars were it not for one serious "magic-killing" aspect of the trick. YOU DON'T NEED (AND SHOULDN'T HAVE) THAT "START OVER" COMMAND DISPLAYED INT HE MANNER IN WHICH YOU HAVE! By making that command visible you make the effect appear to be a mere computer program. You force magician's like myself to have to use "work-arounds" to hide this error. How about an update that makes that "START OVER" command not visible (or gives us the option to make it "visible" or "hidden")? To Sulmaan: No Sir. That is not an acceptable work-around. We are performing magic here and not just running programs. Exiting the program is not the answer; the effect must be immediately repeatable without having to having to exit the numbers screen; restarting the program creates the impression of running a software application and not the real aire of having created a miracle that may be instantly repeated without hiccups. |
