The National Arts Festival is an annual celebration of the best in South Africa’s rich and diverse arts world, and also showcases cutting edge and innovative work from across the globe.
Each year in June, the city of Grahamstown comes alive to the sights and sounds of over 450 productions giving more than 2 500 performances across every conceivable genre – covering theatre, jazz, dance, ballet, comedy, physical theatre, pop, rock and classical music. Add to that dozens of exhibitions, free street theatre performances and one of the country’s biggest craft markets, and the result is Amazing.
